What Are Sims 4 Packs?
Sims 4 packs are additional types of content that players can either buy with real money or download for free. Each TS4 pack is an individual product and offers a unique experience that you can’t get by owning the base game. This usually means that a pack brings new features to the game, some of which totally change the way you and other people play the game.
Packs are often called DLCs, which is short for downloadable content. By this definition, each time you purchase an additional pack for The Sims 4, you’ll simply need to download an update. And after the update is finished, you can continue playing the same game with new and improved features.
But do you absolutely need to do this? Isn’t it enough to own the base Sims 4 game?
Yes and no.
If you’re wondering whether you must purchase any DLC, then the answer is definitely no. However, you need to consider what a pack might add to your game and then judge whether it’s worth your money. For example, you might be a lover of animals and absolutely adore them. Well, the Cats & Dogs expansion pack for The Sims 4 allows your Sims to own pets and live with a couple of cats and dogs running around the house. Do you see what we mean?
So the packs in The Sims 4 are a choice before anything else. Everyone is entirely free to choose whether they want to spend more money on the game or not. If you’re enjoying the gameplay of the basic game and are pretty content with it, then don’t bother with packs. But if you’re bored with it, DLCs can refresh your experience.
Now let’s explain the different types of Sims 4 packs and understand them better!
What’s the Difference Between Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs?
There are a couple of ways we could answer this question, so we’ll start with the easiest one.
The best way to understand the difference between an expansion pack, a game pack, and a stuff pack is by their size. An expansion pack is usually the most extensive downloadable content that you can get for The Sims 4. A game pack is a medium-sized package that adds many new things to the game, but not as much as an expansion pack. And a stuff pack is just a minor update that brings a couple of new things that aren’t too significant for your gameplay.
Another way to look at the three categories is the type of content they add.
Expansion packs are typically the most meaningful updates for the game, and they add game-changing features. For example, the newest expansion pack for The Sims 4 is called Cottage Living. And it allows players to live on a farm, breed animals such as cows, and live a rural life. This type of gameplay is nowhere near the base game, so there’s that.
On the other hand, game packs can also be meaningful, even though they’re generally smaller in size. A good example here would be the Realm of Magic game pack. This update allows your Sims to become spellcasters and learn all kinds of magic. In this way, the experience of the game pack feels more like an experience of an expansion pack.
And lastly, a stuff pack is usually just a collection of build mode and CAS objects you might enjoy. They’re usually connected in a shared theme, like the Spooky Stuff pack, for example, which is all about Halloween. A stuff pack can also add new features, such as toddlers or butlers, but that’s about it.
How to Purchase and Install DLCs?
If you’ve browsed The Sims 4 website for long enough and you’ve stumbled upon a pack that you’d like to try, then it’s time to install it!
Frankly speaking, installing Sims 4 packs is the easiest job in the world. And no matter how or on which platform you play the game, the process is always the same.
That said, it’s important to know that The Sims 4 is available on four major gaming apps, namely Origin, Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation. So PC users can use all apps to play TS4 except PlayStation. And MAC users can choose between Steam and Origin. But Xbox One and PS4 players are limited to their own platforms. And if they want to buy a DLC, then they must go through their own interface.
To purchase and install a pack for The Sims 4, you simply need to open the Store section of the gaming app you’re using. If this is Origin, simply click Browse Games, then select The Sims 4 and choose whether you want an expansion pack, a stuff pack, or a bundle.
The same thing can be said for Steam. If you click on the Store inside the app and type “The Sims 4” in the search bar, you’ll be presented with a whole list of packs. You can see the price right next to the name, as well as any discounts Steam might offer at the moment. And after purchasing it, the download should start immediately!
But what if you want to purchase straight from the website?
Well, in that case, the website will automatically lead you to choose one of the four gaming apps we mentioned above. And the next time you open that app, you’ll be able to download and install your Sims 4 pack!
The Sims 4 All Packs – A Complete List
Here are all the available Sims 4 packs. Our list starts with all the expansion packs and moves down to game packs and stuff packs. In the end, you’ll also find sections on free packs and kits, as well as current bundles that you can purchase for The Sims 4.
Keep in mind that all expansion packs, game packs, and stuff packs add new hairstyles, clothes, and building objects to the game. But we won’t cover them in great detail since they’re way too many. For example, an expansion pack might add 20 new hairstyles, 30 new clothing options, and 100 new windows, lamps, and walls. And instead of checking them all, we’re going to focus on the things that really impact your gameplay!
Sims 4 Expansion Packs
The Sims 4: Get to Work
Get to Work is the first expansion pack for The Sims 4. It was initially released on March 31, 2015, in North America and then slowly expanded around the world. And players who purchased the DLC found many cool things, including new careers, business opportunities, and a secret lot!
Get to Work. The whole point of this expansion pack is to allow players to follow their Sims in the workplace. Normally, once you send your Sims to work, they simply disappear and then reappear after a couple of hours. Well, Get to Work lets you play your Sim while on the job and control them as they complete their daily tasks.
New Careers. Along with the opportunity to follow your Sims on their jobs, Get to Work also introduces three new careers to the game – Doctor, Detective, and Scientist. As a doctor, you can do regular checkups on your patients, surgeries, and even deliver babies. As a detective, you can solve crimes and play good cop/bad cop. And as a scientist, you can create all kinds of inventions, some of which can put your entire neighborhood to sleep!
Retail Business. Aside from the three career paths, Sims in Get to Work may also open up a retail store and run the business. They can serve customers, unlock new perks, improve their service, and get more money!
New Skills. Get to Work also introduces two new skills to the game – Baking and Photography. Both of these are major skills and have 10 levels of progression!
New World. Magnolia Promenade.
Aliens. Aliens are the first new playable race in The Sims 4, and they come with Get to Work.
Secret Lot. The secret lot “Sixam” is a place where aliens hang out and can be found through the scientist career.
The Sims 4: Get Together
The second expansion pack of The Sims 4 – Get Together – came out in early December 2015. It was 6 months after Get to Work, so players were ready to dump their jobs and start new social adventures in the brand new world of Windenburg!
New World. Windenburg is an old town inspired by a few traditional European cities. Its architecture reminds you the most of old Germany, with a warm and medieval-like feeling. Windenburg has 4 new neighborhoods and 27 lots.
Clubs. Clubs are the new central feature of this expansion pack. Much like in the previous Sims games, you can create, manage, or join existing clubs. Each club has its own community and members that occasionally meet, discuss the topics of their clubs, and simply hang out. For example, you can run a Drama club with Sims that are aspiring artists. Progressing with your club unlocks you new cool things, such as a secret handshake between the club members!
New Activities. Besides clubs, Get Together offers many new social activities such as playing foosball, darts, or visiting a nightclub and dancing with other Sims. But you can also make a bonfire party and hang out with your friends!
Become a DJ. Get Together also allows your Sim to become a DJ. As a DJ, you can be responsible for playing songs in nightclubs and parties and have your own DJ booth. There are plenty of DJ booths to choose from!
New Skills. As expected, Get Together introduces the DJ Mixing and Dancing skills. They’re both major skills and have 10 available levels for you to go through. And unlike other skills, DJ Mixing and Dancing is really fun to level up.
Get Together is one of the most fun Sims 4 packs!
The Sims 4: City Living
As a third expansion, City Living opened the gates of the large towns in The Sims 4. It initially launched in September 2016, almost a year after Get Together. But City Living brought such an interesting refreshment to the game that no one truly minded it. It showed us what it is like to live in a big city in The Sims 4 from a close-up view.
New Features. The most significant change that City Living offers is the ability to live in a city. This means that you can either rent or buy an apartment and live in a building with many neighbors. You have your traditional apartments that vary in size, but you can also live in a penthouse and have pool parties up on the roof.
Living in the city also means that you’ll get access to many social events, but most importantly, Festivals. There are different kinds of Festivals depending on the season, so your Sim can have fun throughout the year.
New City. The new city in City Living is called San Myshuno. This is your typical western city with giant skyscrapers and corporate buildings. It has 18 lots and 21 available apartment units. And Sims can talk to their landlord about various lot problems,
New Careers. The three new careers in City Living are Critic, Politician, and Social Media. As a critic, you can either become an Arts critic or a Food critic. Politician Sims can choose to run for mayor of the city position. And the social media career has two branches, one which lets you become an Internet Superstar!
New Skill. Singing makes a comeback in this expansion pack. Sims can now practice their vocal abilities by singing in the shower or using a karaoke machine!
The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs
Cats & Dogs is one of the most popular Sims 4 packs. Perhaps EA knew too well that most of us are deeply interested in pets, so they sold them in an expansion pack. In any case, Cats & Dogs is one of the earliest packs and simmers got to play it first in 2017.
New Features. The major new feature of this expansion pack is, of course, the ability to own a pet or a dog. Even though you can only choose between cats and dogs, there is a great variety of breeds. In fact, in The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs, you can find all popular breeds of dogs, like Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, and Beagle. And the same goes for cats, which can be Persian, British Shorthair, Siamese, or any other breed in the game! But the greatest thing about this expansion is the fact that you can create your own breed by mixing different ones in the CAS menu!
New World. The new world in Cats & Dogs is called Brindleton Bay. This is a coastal town with large neighborhoods, some of which are right next to the sea. There are many interesting spots here, like the Lighthouse and the various walking routes for you and your pet. Brindleton Bay has 4 neighborhoods and 16 lots available for your home!
New Career. With pets running loose, the Vet career is also a thing in this expansion pack! Now your Sims can choose to become veterinarians and work in their vet clinics. They can treat various types of pet illnesses and also perform surgeries!
New Skills. Two new skills are here, too – Pet Training and Veterinarian. The first is a minor skill, and it’s about teaching pets commands. And the second is for getting better results as a vet!
The Sims 4: Seasons
With four Sims 4 packs behind, players finally expected something big. Well, The Sims 4 Seasons brought what many of us thought an essential part of the game and something that should’ve been included since the initial launch – different weather seasons!
New Features. Here the gameplay isn’t the same every time you log in. In fact, your neighborhood and your chosen world change depend on which season it’s currently in The Sims 4. And much like in the real world, there are four seasons in TS4: Summer, Winter, Spring, and Autumn.
Each of these transforms the world around you and gives it a new look. For example, Autumn brings fallen leaves and beautiful colors. And Winter will cover everything with snow. But this isn’t only a cosmetic change because it gives your Sims new things to do too. For example, they can sweep and pick up fallen leaves during Autumn. And build a Snowman during Winter!
Holidays. Since we have different seasons, we also have different holidays. These are worldwide events that your Sims can participate in each year, and every holiday has its own theme and tradition. There are pre-made holidays, but you can also edit them or create your own!
New Careers. The two new careers in Seasons are Gardener and Scout. Gardener is all about keeping your yard clean and becoming a master of botany. And Scout is actually an afterschool activity, and only teen and children Sims can access it.
New Skills. Two new skills accompany the new careers, and they’re Flower Arranging and Hiking. The first one is gained through learning about the different plants, and the second is a secret skill and needs to be unlocked.
So if there is one among the Sims 4 packs you must get, then it’s Seasons!
The Sims 4: Get Famous
The Sims 4 Get Famous came out on November 16, 2018. It gave our Sims new opportunities and new things to do. But the most important one is being a celebrity!
New Features. Much like in the real world, Sims in Get Famous can become celebrities and be considered stars. Specific skills and career paths will give you fame points. These fame points indicate how popular you are in your world. But you’ll also need a reputation. Reputation simply means what kind of a public image you have in your world, i.e., how the public sees you. Celebrity Sims with good reputations will be adored in public, and celebrities with bad reputations may be booed off stage!
New Career. Actor is the brand new career in The Sims 4 Get Famous. Just like with any art career in TS4, here you’ll start as an aspiring actor. But you’ll work your way up, accept gigs, and do whatever it takes to become a movie star! You’ll get to act on stage with thousands of people watching you!
New Skills. Since you’re going to be an actor, you’ll be working on your acting skill. This is a major skill with 10 levels. Each level unlocks new things to do, such as performing different types of dramas. But in this expansion pack, you also have the media production skill. It is a minor skill of 5 levels, and it’s about being more skillful and successful in mixing tracks or producing videos!
New World. The Sims 4 celebrities all hang out in the world of Del Sol Valley. This is your Hollywood-like city with gorgeous sunny beaches and stunning houses on the hill.
If you like the idea of being a star, this is one of the best Sims 4 packs to get!
The Sims 4: Island Living
Island Living is one of the most loved expansions of all Sims 4 packs. It simply hits all the right spots in terms of the player’s experience. Sure, there are many things that you can improve with mods and CC, but generally, Island Living is what most of us wanted since the start of The Sims 4. And it’s a shame that it only came out in 2019!
New Features – Mermaids. Yes! Mermaids are finally back in The Sims in a new and improved form. Now you can either create a Mermaid Sim in the CAS menu or make your own Sim turn into a Mermaid! Mermaids are magical creatures that live near the ocean. They have two forms – a normal human form and a mermaid form. The latter gives them a fin instead of legs which helps them swim faster.
Mermaids are also friends with aquatic animals, and there are many different interactions that you can do underwater! Also, mermaids usually get sad if they live away from the ocean.
New World. Sulani is perhaps one of the most beautiful Sims 4 worlds in the entire game! It’s entirely on the ocean, with many lots placed being on various beaches. You can choose to play on one of the 3 islands where you can relax, drink cocktails, and watch the gorgeous blue waters!
New Career. The new career in Island Living is called Conservationist. Since you’re going to be a friend of the ocean, you’ll want to keep it clean and healthy. Conservationist allows you to either become a Chief Sustainability Officer or Master of Marine Affairs! The choice is yours!

The Sims 4: Discover University
The Sims 4 Discover University is the eighth expansion pack, and it’s one of the best Sims 4 packs! Let’s be honest – everybody likes the college lifestyle. Sharing a dorm room, taking classes, and eventually graduating are fantastic experiences! Well, in this DLC, your Sims can have all of that too!
New Features. Just like the title says, in Discover University, you’ll find a new type of life for your Sim. You’ll be able to join one of the two competing college schools – University of Britechester and Foxbury Institute.
The University of Britechester is your old European-like college that’s here to teach you art. The degrees that you can pursue here are Art History, Culinary Arts, Language & Literature, Drama, and more!
The Foxbury Institue is entirely opposite with its modern architecture and science-oriented curriculum. The degrees that it offers are Biology, Computer Science, Physics, and such, so it’s more for the nerdy Sims.
New World. The new world of Discover University is Britechester. This is a modern city separated into three neighborhoods: University of Britechester, Foxbury Institute, and Gibbs Hill. Two of these are where the campuses are, and Gibbs Hill can be your home once you get your degree. It’s a beautiful European town with rich culture and gorgeous architecture.
New Careers. There are three new careers in this expansion pack corresponding to the various degrees you can get – Education, Engineer, and Law. But you also have E-sports Competitor and Soccer Team Player, which are after-school activities!
Servo. Servos are the robots in The Sims 4. But unlike the previous games, now you can actually play as them! Servos have many different benefits, such as the ability to gain skills faster. So definitely check them out!
The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle
Eco lifestyle is one of the most refreshing Sims 4 packs that we have. It was first teased in May 2020 but was finally launched in June the same year. It gave us a new perspective of The Sims 4, one that was on board with our modern world!
New Features. Eco Lifestyle introduces eco-friendly living in The Sims 4. This means that now your Sims can be mindful of their environment and how they treat the world. As a result, they can include more green items in their homes, such as solar panels, wind turbines, and dew collectors.
Sims can now use bits of materials to create new and improved things. Recycling is also a significant part of this expansion pack. But the best part about it is that you can team up with your neighborhood and reintroduce sustainable ways for your community.
New World. Eco Lifestyle also comes with a new world called Evergreen Harbor. Evergreen Harbor is another coastal town, but it has more forests and mountains, along with beaches. There are 13 available lots here, 2 of which are apartments, 7 residential lots, and 4 community lots.
New Career. The new career in Eco Lifestyle is Civil Designer. And Civil Designer Sims are all about developing and instructing better plans for their world. They can either become City Master Planners or Mater Inventors, both of which have many benefits!
New Skills. There are two new skills here – Fabrication and Juice Fizzing. Fabrication corresponds to the Sim’s ability to recycle and make objects from used materials. And Juice Fizzing is simply the Sim’s ability to make a fizzy juice!
The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle is for anyone who loves nature, biology and has a positive view of the world!
The Sims 4: Snowy Escape
Snowy Escape is one of the newest additions to the Sims 4 packs. It was initially published on November 13, 2020, and it marks the first official winter expansion pack for the game. True, Seasons brought us snow, but Snowy Escape brings us winter sports like hiking, skiing, and much much more!
New Features. Snowy Escape is all about enjoying the winter wonders! Your Sims can now learn how to ski, hop on a sled, or launch themselves on a snowboard. They can climb the mountainside and finally enjoy rest in one of the hot springs. There is fun for the entire family!
New World. The new world of Mt.Komerebi is a Japanese-inspired region of two parts – the snowy mountains and the city below. Both of these areas have residential lots, so you can live anywhere. If you choose to live in the mountains, then you’ll be constantly surrounded by snow. And if you’ve chosen the other option, then you’ll live in a friendly and quiet Japanese town!
Lifestyles. Lifestyles are another exciting addition to the game, and they’re similar to traits. But instead of choosing them in the CAS menu, you can acquire a Lifestyle by doing certain things in the game. For example, if your Sim drinks too much coffee, then they’ll become Coffe Fanatics. There are 16 different Lifestyles in Snowy Escape!
New Skills. The new skills in this expansion pack are Rock Climbing, Skiing, and Snowboarding. They’re pretty self-explanatory, and you can level up them quickly.
There are many new build mode objects in Snowy Escape, most of which are Japanese-inspired too. So if you like that oriental style of architecture, then you should definitely get this DLC!
The Sims 4: Cottage Living
And finally, we have Cottage Living! This is the latest expansion pack for The Sims 4, and it only came out recently – June 22, 2021! And we’re happy to say that after so much time, we finally have the opportunity to live on a farm and own other types of animals besides cats and dogs!
New Features. Just like the name says, this expansion pack is all about living in the country, have a farm, and looking after your animals. You can have cows, chickens, llamas, wild birds, rabbits, and foxes. All of them can somehow benefit you, either by giving you milk, eggs, or otherwise. In return, you’ll watch over them, house them, and protect them.
Keep in mind that there are no horses in Cottage Living. This is something that we’re very sad about and something that the simming community is very negative about. So if you’re buying this DLC for riding a horse, don’t.
Gardening is also a big part of Cottage Living. You’ll get to work your farm, familiarize yourself with plants, and essentially live off the land!
New World. The new world is called Henford-on-Bagley. This is a green and rural town, full of trees, waterfalls, rivers, and woods. There are 3 neighborhoods and 12 available lots!
New Skill. The only new skill in Cottage Living is Cross-stitching. This is a minor skill of 5 levels, and it has a couple of awesome rewards, but not significant.
You should consider purchasing Cottage Living if you like that rural countryside architecture. There are many medieval build mode objects which you can use to create some fantasy homes.
All in all, it’s a great expansion pack, except for the fact that it doesn’t have horses, which is a bummer for many people!
Sims 4 Game Packs
The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat
As we mentioned above, game packs are smaller Sims 4 DLCs in size, but they offer cool new features that you may be missing. And the perfect example of this is Outdoor Retreat. This is the first game pack released for TS4, and it came out in January 2015.
New Features. If you like camping, then Outdoor Retreat is for you! It allows you to take your Sims out in the wild, set up camps, and organize a bonfire party. While exploring, you can find many new interesting things, such as the bear costume, which lets you roar at other Sims!
New World. This game pack also brings a new world to the game called Granite Falls. Granite Falls is a vacation-only type of area in Sims 4. You can book a 7-day vacation for your Sims family. But you can also extend your stay if you want. However, you cannot live there!
New Skill. Herbalism makes a comeback in Outdoor Retreat. Now your Sims can learn more about the different types of plants, collect them, and even make health remedies!
There are over 60 new build mode objects all in the nature theme!
The Sims 4: Spa Day
The Sims 4 Spa Day is exactly what it sounds like – the perfect opportunity for your sims to relax! This game pack was released in July 2015, and it’s much similar to The Sims 2: Bon Voyage.
New Features. All the new features of Spa Day can be summarized into one – visit the all-new Perfect Balance Spa to remove your stress. Your Sims can now book massages, enter mud baths, and enjoy long sauna sessions. Saunas are the new hot spots for WooHoo in Spa Day, so that’s definitely something to check out. However, Saunas can also cause death if your Sims simply forget themselves in there!
Spa Day also allows your Sims to do yoga and practice meditation.
New Skill. Wellness is a new skill that you can pick up here. It simply measures the Sim’s ability to treat themselves positively. Each level of the Wellness skill unlocks new interaction for your Sim, such as yoga poses or types of massages.
The build mode items in Spa Day are all in the theme of comfort. There are comfy shirts, legs, and towels, as well as all the equipment needed for you to create a spa center of your own!
The Sims 4: Dine Out
As a third game pack for The Sims 4, Dine Out doesn’t bring too many new features. If you aren’t too interested in visiting restaurants and eating out, then you can probably skip this DLC. You simply won’t be missing too many things. However, there are some interesting features that you should be aware of!
New Features. Aside from the opportunity to go out on a date or pick up your family and dine out in a restaurant, this game also allows you to run a restaurant yourself. The mechanic is similar to running a retail store in the Get to Work expansion pack, with a couple of small differences.
As a business owner, you can choose which type of local restaurant you want to have. A McDonald’s-like eating space or elegant bistro? Regardless, you can hire employees, create a menu, and essentially build a profitable business. And as you do, you’re going to unlock new perks that make your job easier!
If you choose to run a more refined restaurant, there is a brand new radio station that you can use, called Jazz.
You can also experiment with new food and learn new cooking recipes!
Overall, it’s a pretty solid example among the Sims 4 packs, but it’s mostly for people that would simply love to run a business!
The Sims 4: Vampires
Vampires was one of the most anticipated Sims 4 packs! The reason for this is pretty simple – vampires are freaking cool! But it’s not only that; Vampires have always been a part of The Sims series, so we were happy to have them back!
New Features. Vampires are on the loose! Aside from Vladislaus Straud, your Sims can also become vampires. This enhanced state gives them new benefits, such as improved overall strength and speed. Vampires also get access to many new interesting abilities, one of which is drinking blood or plasma. You will need to supply them with plasma regularly if you don’t want them to become weak and sad.
Vampires have two forms – normal Sim form and Dark form. Thanks to the normal form, they can hang out among regular Sims and not be discovered. But the dark form transforms them into their true selves!
New World. The new world in The Sims 4 Vampires is called Forgotten Hollow. It’s a dark and misty place with castles made in the Victorian style. There are 5 lots that surround the general area – the park. Nighttime here lasts longer so vampires can move freely.
New Skill. Pipe Organ and Vampire Lore are the new skills here. The first one measures your ability to play the instruments and the second one your knowledge about vampires and vampire history!
There are also tons of new build mode objects, all in the same dark fantasy style!
The Sims 4: Parenthood
Parenthood is another troublesome example among the Sims 4. This is because most simmers think that it should’ve been part of the game since the launch and not an actual game pack. However, Parenthood does include cool new things, so let’s explain them briefly.
New Features. The Sims 4 Parenthood makes your Sims better parents. It allows them to teach their children valuable lessons and help them build values. You get tons of new interactions, all of which revolve around influencing the kids’ lives in one way or another.
New Skill. One of the critical elements of this game pack is the Parenting skill. And by increasing this, your Sims learn how to best approach and help their children. The parenting skill unlocks new activities that your adult Sims can do with their children. They’re fun, exciting, and teach teens, children, and toddlers to be better people.
Your Sims will also get access to the new aspiration called Super Parent. And when fully completed, this aspiration grants the Role Model reward trait!
The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure
The Sims 4 Jungle Adventure is the sixth game pack, and it launched on February 27, 2018. Much like Outdoor Retreat, it has everything to do with going outside and exploring. However, Jungle Adventure takes you to a much wilder place – Selvadorada!
New World. The new world of Selvadorada is the key feature of Jungle Adventure. It’s a jungle region full of real-life Latin American and ancient Aztec culture. It has two neighborhoods – Puerto Llamante Marketplace and Belomisia Jungle. The first one is a regular place that has a couple of lots. But the second is actually a lush jungle that’s only accessible by clearing paths.
New Features. In Jungle Adventure, your Sims can explore Selvadaorada and uncover its secrets. As you go into the tombs and hidden temples, you can find and collect relics. These relics can be used to create mystical relics, which can be used to grant blessings or curses.
New Skill. Archeology is the new skill in this game pack. And as you level it up, you unlock many interesting interactions, such as Write Archaeology Book or Analyze Artifacts, Treasures, Fossils, Extract Elements.
Skeletons. Skeletons also make an occasional appearance here, so don’t be spooked by them!
The Sims 4: StrangerVille
StrangerVille is easily the best among the Sims 4 game packs. If you ask any simmer about their favorite game packs, then they’ll always say StrangerVille! The reason for this is because StrangerVille is such a well-designed DLC that honestly stands in its own category!
New Features. The main thing that you’re going to be doing in this game pack is solve the mystery of the town StrangerVille. This is a desert-like area full of red sand and canyons on each side. It’s populated by locals who are possessed by a mysterious force. They all act creepy, so you’ll need to find the answers to their strange behavior.
And unlike many Sims 4 packs, StrangerVille has a linear story that you can follow. It’s especially fun the first time you’re playing it through.
New Career. Military is the new career in this game pack, but it’s a semi-active one. It has 10 available levels, and your Sims can become high-ranking soldiers and grand marshals.
New emotion. A worthy mention here is the new emotion Possessed. Sims that are affected by this moodlet will be reluctant to follow your instructions. They will constantly do other things than the ones you’ve commanded them, and they’ll often be weird and dysfunctional.
The Sims 4: Realm of Magic
The Sims 4 Realm of Magic is another fan-favorite game pack. The crossover from The Sims to Harry Potter is honestly one of the best things that we have as simmers. And we heavily recommend you to get this DLC if you’re even slightly into fantasy!
New World. In Realm of Magic, there are two new worlds. The first one is called Glimmerbrook, and it’s a mountainous forest region made out of 5 lots. But Glimmerbrook hides the portal to the second world – The Magic Realm. Now, The Magic Realm is actually a group of rocks that float in space. This is a fantasy world where only magical folks live.
New Features. Spellcasters! Yes, now your Sim can go to The Magic Realm, enter the Magic HQ and learn how to be a spellcaster! This is really an in-depth feature, with many spells being available as you level up. There are exciting interactions when casting spells and tons of fun names and animations too! You can also befriend a familiar, which is the equivalent of a dog or a cat for magical people.
In Realm of Magic, you’ll also be required to use wands. There are many different kinds of wands, so you can choose the one that fits you!
The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu
The Sims 4 Journey to Batuu is one of the newest Sims 4 packs, and it only came out in the summer of 2020. And while Realm of Magic was an unofficial crossover to Harry Patter, Journey to Batuu is an official crossover to Star Wars! There are many characters from the movies included in TS4, so fans of both franchises simply love this!
New Features. Journey to Batuu is all about traveling to the edge of space and experiencing Star Wars in The Sims 4. You’ll meet Kylo Ren, Rey, and Vi Moradi, and you’ll also create your unique lightsabers. Your Sims will be surrounded by stormtroopers and architecture copied straight from the movies. And in the end, you’ll be able to enter spaceships, including the Millennium Falcon!
New World. Batuu is the new world in this game pack. It’s only a destination place, so your Sims can’t live there, but they can visit it on various occasions. Batuu is split into three neighborhoods, each of which has one available lot. These lots are editable only with cheats!
Another thing that your Sims can do in this game pack is a gamble. But if the reason why you should consider buying it is because of all the unique build mode Star Wars objects that you can use in your building! They’re seriously awesome!
The Sims 4: Dream Home Decorator
And the last of the Sims 4 game packs is Dream Home Decorator. This is a considerably small DLC, and most people don’t find it worth the money. However, if you’re deep into interior decorating and designing beautiful homes, then you might want to check it out!
New Career. The new career Interior Decorator is the key feature of this game pack. As an Interior Decorator in TS4, your job will be to talk to clients and essentially improve their homes. You’ll get gigs about renovating different rooms or entire houses. It’s a full-time job that requires dedication from your Sim. The 10th level of this career path gives you the Certified Interior Designer title. This will let you make more money on future projects.
And there’s really not much else. There are a bunch of new home decorating build mode objects, and they do look fantastic. But they may not be enough for a total price of a game pack.
Sims 4 Stuff Packs
The Sims 4: Luxury Party Stuff
Luxury Party is the first of the stuff packs that we received for The Sims 4. It was added to the game on May 19, 2015, and it was generally considered a good stuff pack.
Luxury Party is all about living a glamorous life. The pack offers new build mode objects, all inspired by the exquisite lifestyle of celebrities. Your Sims will get new hairstyles and clothes to properly ready themselves for the world of glamorous parties!
Among the rest, there is also the new drink fountain object. You can use this to give your party a chocolate or cheese fountain!
The Sims 4: Perfect Patio Stuff
Perfect Patio is one of the best summery packs in The Sims 4. It doesn’t bring any game-changing features, but it offers new outdoorsy objects for your yard. And you can use these to create the perfect place of relaxation for your Sims.
The most notable object here is the hot tub. And you can either place it outside or inside. The hot tub relaxes your Sims and removes their stress. But it can also be upgraded to feature stereo music.
Perfect Patio brings many cool casual clothes and hairstyles. And it’s a perfect DLC for those that want to escape the uptight lifestyle!
The Sims 4: Cool Kitchen Stuff
The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff is the third DLC of this kind, and it’s a very small and compact stuff pack. It’s all about redecorating your kitchen and adding new quality of life items there!
One of the best things that you can do here is use the new ice cream maker. This is a simple machine that produces different flavors of ice cream. Some ice cream flavors have magical effects, including the one that turns your Sim into a PlantSim.
There are new hairstyles and clothes, perfect for the home ambiance. There are also new meals and recipes that your Sim can learn, so it’s a good stuff pack if you like cooking.
The Sims 4: Spooky Stuff
The Sims 4 Spooky Stuff is the official collection of Haloween items for the game. It came on September 29, 2015, just before the spooky season kicked in.
In this stuff pack, your Sims will be able to dress in costumes. There are many different costumes, and you can make your Sim look like a witch, a pirate, a skeleton, or a ghoul. In the end, you can decorate your home, throw a creepy party, and invite other Sims.
Additionally, you’ll get access to the Pumpkin carving station. You can use this station to create pumpkins with different facial expressions. And if you have a ghost Sim, you can put the pumpkin on their head!
The Sims 4: Movie Hangout Stuff
Movie Hangout Stuff is one of the least understood Sims 4 packs. People didn’t necessarily rush to purchase it the first time it came out, and they aren’t excited now as well. But Movie Hangout Stuff is a really neat DLC with a lot of cozy items in it.
The best thing you can do here is to create a home cinema. Put the project screen in one of your rooms and invite your Sim friends to watch movies. You’ll get to slip into comfy clothes and eat popcorn!
The Sims 4 Movie Hangout Stuff pack offers many new colorful objects for your home. And if you are not the most movie type of person out there, it’s still a pack worth considering.
The Sims 4: Romantic Garden Stuff
Romantic Garden Stuff is the perfect Sims 4 pack for decorating the yards of your luxurious homes. It’s also the go-to DLC if you enjoy throwing parties, especially weddings.
This stuff pack has all the tools you need for creating a gorgeous garden, one filled with beautiful flowers and majestic fountains. It also includes a Wishing Well, a type of well that you can use to get many beneficial objects in TS4.
The fountains are also interactive, and there are a couple of interesting interactions around them, like splashing, for example.
The Sims 4: Kids Room Stuff
The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff pack is exactly what the title says – a package full of kid-friendly objects and toys for your children’s rooms!
Here you have two noteworthy features, namely the Voidcritter Battle Station and the Puppet Theater. Both of these can be used to entertain your child for hours.
The objects you get in this stuff pack are modern and include plush toys such as monsters and decorative items, bookshelves, and robots.
The Sims 4: Backyard Stuff
The Sims 4 Backyard Stuff is another small pack that doesn’t add too many significant items to the game. However, if you always thought that that something was missing from your yard, then this is the DLC to get.
You can build an entire water park in your backyard by using the new water slides, for starters. Your Sims can use this to have endless fun, especially when the temperatures are high. The decorative objects are all outdoorsy and in the theme of summer. There are benches, stools, fences, and more!
And aside from the new pool party clothes and hairstyles, that’s pretty much it from Backyard Stuff!
The Sims 4: Vintage Glamour Stuff
Vintage Glamour was one of the most anticipated stuff packs for The Sims 4. This is because many people were used to playing the previous Sims games with butlers running around their house and helping them out. And because the base game nor the other packs didn’t include that, we all liked Vintage Glamour Stuff!
Rich and successful Sims can now hire the butler NPC. It may seem a complicated feature on the surface, but it really isn’t. Once hired, the butler will start living in your house and take care of it. He will cook meals, look after your children, and clean. He has a clear schedule, and you can summon him with a ring of a bell. And that’s it!
There are also many new cool items that you can use here. Things like glamorous windows, makeup stations, and beds honestly look great and are worth checking out!
The Sims 4: Bowling Night Stuff
Bowling Night is another simple Stuf Pack for The Sims 4. Bowling has been a part of The Sims series for a long time, and now it’s finally here!
Here you have a complete bowling center which you can use whenever you want. You’ll also get all the objects in your build mode, so make you can make yourself a private bowling center if you wish.
Aside from bowling, you can also lounge in the bowling center. There is a bar where you can get drinks and chat with your friends. All in all – an opportunity for a really cool date night!
The Sims 4: Fitness Stuff
For the sporty Sims, The Sims 4 Fitness Stuf is the perfect DLC! It is the eleventh stuff pack for the game, and it came out in June 2017!
The key new feature here is wall climbing. You can now buy a special machine from the build menu that challenges Sims to climb it. There is an infinite number of levels, so your Sims can progress and work on their fitness skill.
The new clothes and hairstyles are all casual and in the theme of sports. Go ponytails and sweatshirts!
The Sims 4: Toddler Stuff
Many simmers were mad at the developers because The Sims 4 didn’t feature toddlers until 2017, two years after the game’s initial launch. And along with that, the Toddler Stuff pack was added to the store, giving us more toys and playground objects!
In reality, this is a tiny package that doesn’t contain too many things. Sure there are a couple of great decorative objects that you can use, but that’s pretty much it. But if you absolutely love decorating interiors in kids’ rooms, then go ahead and get it!
The Sims 4: Laundry Day Stuff
Another weird thing about The Sims 4 is that of all other packs, only Laundry Day Stuff let us actually wash our clothes. This wasn’t the most exciting DLC for the game since not too many people are impressed by the idea of using the washing machine.
However, Laundry Day Stuff is really fun! It’s not only the use of the washing machine but the entire package. Once your Sim starts to pick up their clothes, store them in different bins, wash them, and try them, then you realize how much of a quality of life change it is for your gameplay. There are different ways to wash and dry your clothes, depending on where you live. So you might want to check it out!
The Sims 4: My First Pet Stuff
But The Sims 4 My First Pet Stuff is a different story! People generally love animals in-game, and for those that already have Cats & Dogs, this is the perfect addition!
My First Pet is all about teaching children (or adults) how to care for their pets. In addition to cats and gods, you’ll also get small animals such as hamsters, hedgehogs, and rats. You will also have multiple clothes for your pets, so you can dress them in pajamas or sweaters.
This is a very kid-friendly stuff pack, and we absolutely recommend it!
The Sims 4: Moschino Stuff
Moschino Stuff is another confusing example among the Sims 4 packs. For those that don’t know, Moschino is actually a real-life clothing brand. So this stuff pack brings you their clothes in TS4 and a cool new feature – Fashion Photographer branch for the freelancer career!
Sims that have chosen this career path can now pick up their cameras and photoshoot some fashion models. The camera mod is improved, and new tools are added. And the new clothes are all glamorous and modern!
The Sims 4: Tiny Living Stuff
Tiny Living is an interesting Sims 4 stuff pack, mostly because it’s one of its kind.
As its name suggests, this DLC is all about making the most out of a small home. You’ll get new build mode objects that will help you save space and put everything you own in a tiny little house. Small chairs, narrow kitchens, and tiny beds – everything miniature!
But the best part about this stuff pack is the murphy bed. This item is actually a bed that can fold into the wall, so you can save space. However, there is a high chance that when your Sim tries to pull it down for sleeping, the bed will actually kill the Sim!
The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting Stuff
And for the lovers of knitting, The Sims 4 has Nifty Knitting Stuff. This is an adorable pack to have, especially around the holidays or during the winter season!
Nifty Knitting allows your Sims to create their own clothes. They can pick up treads and needles and knit sweaters, baby onesies, and children’s toys. There is an entire new knitting system and a new knitting skill. And as you level it up, you’ll unlock new things to knit!
This is a fan-favorite stuff pack, and the community voted it for development!
The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff
And the latest stuff pack for The Sims 4 is Paranormal Stuff! Out of all Sims 4 stuff packs, this one has the most unique gameplay. It introduces haunted houses, which are homes to many fantasy creatures, such as ghosts and specters.
When your Sims get too afraid, they can call the Paranormal Investigator. This NPC specializes in ridding your house from such disturbances, so it’s pretty helpful. But your Sims can also become Paranormal Investigators and do the job themselves!
New spooky objects are also part of the deal!
Sims 4 Free Packs
The Sims 4: Holiday Celebration Pack
The Sims 4 Holiday Celebration Pack is the first free DLC that the game’s developers have given us. It came out during the first holiday season after the game’s launch, in December 2014. And it was a nice treat for all players to enjoy!
The Holiday Celebration pack doesn’t offer too many things. It’s simply a collection of Christmas items, such as trees, lights, and other decorations that you can use to make your home cozier around the holidays.
The Sims 4: Grim’s Ghoulish Guitar Pack
And the last of the free Sims 4 packs is the Grim’s Ghoulish Guitar Pack. This is actually just one item – the Grim’s Ghoulish Guitar. It’s a rock and roll guitar model that your musician Sims can use. And you can get it by sign up to receive emails about various Sims offers. You can do so here!
Sims 4 Kits
Kits are new and small downloadable content packs that you can get for a low price. They usually only include a couple of items you might need around your household. For example, sometimes, you desperately need a new shelf model to make your ideal room. So The Sims 4 kits can help you with that!
The Sims 4: Bust the Dust Kit
The Sims 4 Bust the Dust is the first kit that was released for the game. It improves the cleaning part of the game by adding two new objects:
- Vacuum
- Dustbuster
The Sims 4: Country Kitchen Kit
The Country Kitchen Kit is an excellent opportunity for you to decorate your kitchen. It includes new kitchen objects, everything from refrigerators to dishes. The new items are:
- New counters, shelves, and appliances.
The Sims 4: Throwback Fit Kit
The Sims 4 Throwback Fit Kit is another interesting addition that features old sporty clothes. These outfits are in the style of the 80s, with bold colors and unique designs. So if you like to live retro, you can get this kit!
The Sims 4: Courtyard Oasis Kit
And Courtyard Oasis is the last of the Sims 4 kit packs that we have. This DLC contains many new lush items that follow an Arabic theme. There is an attractive fountain, a distinct tapestry, and many other build mode objects.
Bundles
Sims 4 bundles are collections of expansion packs, game packs, and stuff packs, all in one. They’re actually sale offers that EA advertises for people that want to buy only a particular combination of DLCs. Let’s say, for example, that you only like the City Living expansion pack, the Vampires game pack, and the Vintage Glamour stuff pack. Well, now you can purchase that whole package for a smaller price.

The Best Sims 4 Packs
Which Sims 4 Expansion Pack is the Best?
The Sims 4 Seasons. This is easily the best expansion pack that you can get for the game for many reasons.
First of all, having 4 unique seasons and many different weather types in-game feels natural. It brings such a refreshment to the game that we can’t imagine playing TS4 without it. Each season transforms the landscape and gives sit beautiful colors, so it’s really a no-brainer why you should consider buying it!
But that’s not all! Seasons actually affects almost every other Sims 4 pack in the game because it’s present in every world. Even in The Magic Realm, the floating space rock, Season can add different weathers such as the mystical cloudy sky.
And if you’re looking for something worth your money, this is the expansion pack to get!
Which Sims 4 Game Pack is the Best?
In the category of game packs, things are a bit more complicated. There are many great Sims 4 game packs, and we enjoy most of them. However, our personal favorite game pack is The Sims 4 StrangerVille.
Simply playing the DLC for the first time and enjoying the storyline is such a blast! Finding yourself alone in a world full of creepy people and uncovering mysteries is something that TS4 hasn’t done before. Plus, the new military career can be fun, especially for those that like the police/detective career.
So, go for StrangerVille if you like story and mystery!
Which Sims 4 Stuff Pack is the Best?
And for the stuff packs, the best one is undoubtedly The Sims 4 Tiny Living Stuff. This pack honestly feels like a mini-expansion pack on its own, separated from the rest of the game. You get to build a small home and stuff with all the essential items. Then you get to live in this minimal space and try to make the best out of a bad situation.
Watching your Sim perform all kinds of funny interactions is something that we always enjoy!
Recommended and Must-Have DLCs

However, here is a list of the most helpful and must-have packs for any serious simmer out there! And if you’re wondering, “What Sims 4 pack do I get?” take a look at this list!
- Seasons – different seasons and weather types in all worlds.

- Parenthood – a set quality of life features for being a parent.

- Nifty Knitting Stuff – you get to create your own sweaters and toys.
- Vintage Glamour – a must if you like butlers and play with one.
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions About Sims 4 Packs
How Much Do Packs Cost and How Much Does Sims 4 Cost with All DLCs?
Each of the three categories of Sims 4 packs has a different price and that’s because of the amount of content they add to the game. Simply put, expansion past cost the most, then game packs, then the stuff packs.
Here are the prices of the Sims 4 packs unaffected by seasonal sales.
USD | Euro | |
Expansion Pack | $39,99 | €39,99 |
Game Pack | $19,99 | €19,99 |
Stuff Pack | $9,99 | €9,99 |
Keep in mind that the price of The Sims 4 packs varies in different countries. For example, Brazil has lower prices and pays less for a DLC, while in the United Kingdom, the situation is the opposite, and the packs cost more.
And if you want to know how much does Sims 4 costs with all of its packs together, the answer is $859,56! Note that we calculated only the regular price of each category of packs and not the sales. In reality, you can find many expansion or game packs on 50% sale and pay much less. Regardless, $859,56 is a pretty large sum for a video game!
Are Sims 4 Packs Worth it?
This is the big question, isn’t it?
In our honest opinion, buying only the essential Sims 4 packs for you specifically is the way to go. There is no point in blindly throwing your money on stuff that you only remotely enjoy. Some Sims 4 DLCs are really great and they deserve our time, energy, and money. However, you should only buy the packs that you absolutely love and know that you’ll play them for a long time. That way your money will always be worth it!
Will There Be a Sims 5?
Yes, The Sims 5 is now a confirmed project. EA and Maxis have teased us for years, but now we finally know that The Sims 5 release date is somewhere in the near future.
There is a great number of conversation topics regarding the new features of the game. We still have no confirmation about any of that stuff, so everything is still speculation. But if you want to be notified when we do have detailed info, check our site regularly!
Happy simming!
