Everything You Need to Know About Mods and Custom Content in The Sims 4
Do you ever think to yourself how these popular Sims players have those nice-looking curly hair for their Sims? Or where those body piercings and tattoos came from? How were they able to come up with a nicely-themed bedroom? And why are their Sims taller than usual?
The answer is Mods and custom content.
The Sims 4 Custom Content and Mods can surely bring lots of fun into the game. However, to continue forward, you’ll need to learn about certain terminologies used when you’re scouring the web for the best mods you could use. Don’t worry, that’s perfectly acceptable, and we’re here to help!
What are Mods in The Sims 4?
Mods simply refer to game modifications to The Sims 4. It’s as simple as that. Basically, mods are created to alter, modify, or improve an existing game feature or introduce a new one to enhance the overall gameplay.
These game modifications range from small mods, like waking up animation or auto brush teeth after eating, to extreme ones like the Sims 4 Height Slider mod, Become a Sorcerer mod, and Job and Career mods.
Players generally use mods to get the type of gameplay they want, which isn’t included in the base Sims 4 game or any other additional pack. For example, the Werewolf mod is an incredible experience that adds werewolves to the game. And not just as a playable race, but as a complete lifestyle with levels, ranks, spells, and everything else! So, mods = complete game.
What is a Custom Content?
Custom content, or more commonly referred to as CC, is a lot simpler than mods. It does not modify or changes the game per se, but it introduces user-created content that makes aesthetic changes to Sims and objects. These are commonly Create a Sim (CAS) and Build/Buy items. Some of the most popular CCs include clothing, hair, wall patterns, furniture sets, piercings, and makeup.
So, what can you do with CC? Well, you can use them to create your ideal Sim. The Sims 4 doesn’t have all the hair, nose, or lips types. And frankly, most of them are pretty outdated and out of fashion. Luckily for us, we can scour the internet and download the perfect CC lips or eyes to make our perfect Sim. The same goes for the building objects if you want to create your ideal home!
Other Related Terms
Mesh and Texture
A mesh is simply the basic form or shape of custom content, while a texture is a color and pattern. For the custom content to work, it needs both mesh and texture. You often encounter these terms when downloading a CC. Sometimes, the author notes that it is a recolor (or a retexture) and requires the original CC’s mesh. It means that you need to also download the original mesh for it to work, else the CC won’t work as expected.
Recolor, also called retexture, means recoloring a mesh. Other CC creators sometimes take an existing mesh and add their own color or pattern for a whole new look. You’ll know when that happens since they usually add a note if a mesh is included in their CC or where to get one. For recolored CCs, it’s crucial that you also download the original mesh. If you don’t, the CC won’t work.
Alpha CC is the term used for superiorly realistic Custom Content that you could use in The Sims 4 game. Because it looks different than the original game content, this CC type often seems out of place in the game. However, creative simmers can find a way to make the Alpha CC incredible and fit their own gameplay.
Maxis Match CC is the opposite of Alpha CC. It’s a type of CC that fits the aesthetics of The Sims 4. And thus blends well with the original game content. Other players prefer this one since it looks more natural. Or rather, more natural for The Sims 4.
Maxis Mix is a mix between Alpha and Maxis Match custom content. This is usually a very interesting and unique look. Many of you will find a Maxis Mix to be the thing that you truly need!
Frequently Asked Questions About The Sims 4 Mods and CC
Is It Safe to Use Mods and CC in The Sims 4?
Although downloading anything from the web comes with a risk, mods and custom content are generally safe to use. You just need to be sure that they are programmed and installed correctly. When improperly installed or used, these game modifications and content may lead to data corruption, saved game losses, and game glitches. Thus, it helps to take extra precautions and backup saved games.
Always follow the installation instructions and don’t skip any step!
Will Mods Ruin My Sims 4 Game?
The idea behind mods is to improve gameplay and not ruin your game. However, a bit of inconvenience can be unavoidable when downloading, installing, and using these game modifications. Since mods are created by different individuals or players, many of them, when installed, conflict with other mods affecting the game as a result. Fortunately, instances like that can now be avoided using a Mod Conflict Detector tool.
Here are some tips: To be safe, download mods and CC only from reputable websites like those mentioned below. Follow the mod creator’s installation instructions and look out for any notes about conflicts.
Downloading and Installing CC and Mods
Now that you know more about how mods and CC work, as well as the other terminologies commonly used within the Sims 4 modding community, then let’s proceed with the downloading and installation steps.
- Read about the mod or custom content before downloading. Read the entire description to know what it is about, how it works, and how to use it. The description also includes whether or not the mod or CC requires a mesh or a particular game pack or if it conflicts with other mods.
- Download the mod or CC to your computer. If it is a .package or .ts4script file, then it’s all good. However, you still have to unzip or extract it first if it’s a .rar or .zip file.
- Move your .package or .ts4script files to your Mods folder. You should find it in your Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods.
- Make sure that Script Mods and Custom Content are enabled in your Game Options. If not, click the corresponding checkboxes then restart your game.
- Start playing and enjoy the game!
Where to Get The Sims 4 Custom Content and Mods?
Listed below are the most popular websites where you can find and download amazing The Sims 4 custom content and mods. Many users share their creations through one or more of these websites or through their personal blog sites.
All of these websites are amazing sources of Sims 4 mods and CC. The Sims Resource and Mod The Sims are our two go-to pages, mostly because they are the “biggest” sites with the highest numbers of both creators and creations. However, Sims 4 Downloads and the other sites come very close.
Also, many Sims 4 mod creators have their own blogs. Sometimes you can spot these pages when you check someone’s profile on the sites mentioned above. We recommend visiting these blogs and supporting the people who run them. Because many of our favorite mods and CC for The Sims 4 have come from those places!
Mod and CC Categories
Because mods and CC are widely popular among many Sims 4 players, there are thousands of readily available materials from different sources that you can readily download. Here are the most common mod and CC categories available:
- CAS (Create-A-Sim)
Of course, each of these categories has its own subcategory. For example, if you go for clothing, you can sort the CC by t-shirts, jeans, or shoes. That way you can look for the things you precisely need and download jeans packs or shoe packs, rather than all clothes in one.
The Best Sims 4 Mods in 2021
The Sims 4 Tool Mods
MC Command Center / Master Controller Mod
When it comes to useful Sims 4 tool mods, the MC Command Center is number one on that list. We’ve talked a lot about it on this site in the past. But if this is your first time coming across this extension, here is what you need to know.
The Sims 4 MC Command Center is also known as Master Controller Mod, or MCCC for short. This is an enormous mod that introduces many new things to the game. For starters, it adds thousands of different controls so we can adjust everything about our Sims.
What does that mean? Well, with the MC Command Center, you can directly control the population in your own game, for example. You can set the scales of how many babies will be born in the next year, or how many of them will be males or females. You can also set the scales of how many toddlers, children, adults, or elders will live in your neighborhood. The level of detail you can change here is insane.
But that’s only the beginning! The Master Controler Mod wouldn’t be one of the best Sims 4 mods in 2021 if it didn’t have absolutely everything. Here is a list of its primary features that most simmers use:
- MCCC Settings
- MC Career
- MC Cleaner
- MC Dresser
- MC Occult
- MC Population
- MC Pregnancy
- MC Tuner
- MC Woohoo
All of these features have tons of options around their areas. For example, the MC Career option lets you manage your family’s career in an easy way. With a couple of clicks only you can drop your kid from school. Or you can make your adult Sim a scientist or a painter right away!
The MCCC also has nearly all cheats integrated into it and they can be activated by clicking too.
Among the best Sims 4 mods in 2021, we also have the Mod Manager. Now, this extension is quite different from the MC Command Center. It doesn’t have multiple mods packed in it. Instead, Mod Manager is a program that lets you organize your Sims 4 mods folder.
If you’re an experienced simmer, chances are that your Sims 4 mods folder is a true mess. The downsides of this are, of course, that your game is slow, buggy, and your mods often cause crashes. However, with the Mod Manager, you can set up your files in an ideal way. Say goodbye to a messy Sims 4 mods folder!
The Mod Manager is a very easy-to-use feature. You can sort different mods and CC in your own categories. You can then check or uncheck these categories to turn those mods on and off if you like. It is revolutionizing in a way because it introduces such a helpful mechanic of managing your own Sims 4 mods.
The Sims 4 Mod Manager’s installation process is very simple. The program itself isn’t hefty at all and most computers will be able to run it. If you want to learn more about the Mod Manager and how to make it work, visit our guide!
And lastly, we have the AutoSave Mod! As you know, The Sims 4 doesn’t have any version of Autosaving, despite it being a big deal in the video game industry. Autosaving is a reliable option that should always run in the background to save our gameplay in case anything happens, right?
Well, the AutoSave Mod adds the AutoSave feature in The Sims 4. But, the mod is much more than that! For example, the AutoSave isn’t only an on and off switch. You get an options menu that lets you select how often you want the game to perform and AutoSave for you. It can either be 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, or more!
But the AutoSave Mod has even more to offer! With a couple of simple actions, you can edit different backups in your game, as well as give different names so you can easily remember them. There is also a Status Indicator UI integrated into the mod, which lets you know when will the next AutoSave or backup happen. In the end, you can check your history of changes to track everything down.
We highly recommend you give all these Sims 4 mods a shot! These tools are fantastic and bring quality-of-life changes to the game that should’ve been there from the beginning. So, we hope we convinced you to try them out!
The Sims 4 Accessories and CAS Mods
More Columns in CAS
If there is only one Sims 4 mod that you gotta try in 2021, then that is the More Columns in CAS mod by weerbesu. If you’ve never heard of it, then know that this isn’t, by all means, a game-changing mode. And it won’t add too much to your existing game. However, More Columns in CAS is a brilliant extension and we need more of it!
As its name suggests, this mod adds more columns in the CAS menu. Why is this important? Well, we can safely agree that the Create a Sim screen in The Sims 4 isn’t optimized at all. There is a bunch of sub-menus all over the place and it’s hard to navigate through, especially for newer players.
So, by adding more columns, the searching for hairstyles, makeup, or clothes becomes much easier. With it, you can simply scroll once or twice and view all the models at once. This shortens the time you need for a decision on which one to pick. And it makes the process of creating a Sim much easier.
There are multiple options that you can choose from here. For example, you can have either 3, 4, 5, or more columns, depending on your game resolution. Note that your game must also be up to date for the mod to work. To read more about it and make a download, click here.
Something that is really necessary when creating the perfect Sim is a few different kinds of accessories. So, you got earrings, necklaces, watches, wrist bands, nose rings, piercings, and bandanas. Unfortunately, the base Sims 4 game is barren when it comes to choices for these types of accessories. So, we turn to mods and CC!
Our Sims 4 Accessories Mods & CC collection is the ultimate mix of all these items and more! We’ve personally picked the most unique and the best-looking accessories for The Sims 4. Follow the link to check them all in detail and learn more.
Why should you use these accessories? For starters, these Sims 4 mods look highly realistic and are created according to modern-world fashion and style. Unlike the models from the base game, these earrings, hats, and nails, are enough to give your Sim a true beauty-salon treatment. So if you don’t want your Sims to look like cartoon characters and instead look like real-life people, check the list today!
Also, there are a couple of items here that are absolutely unique and you can rarely find them elsewhere. One example is the Foxy Beany. Not only is it a rare CC, but it looks gorgeous! There is a white and a black version, so you can use it on both male and female Sims!
The Sims 4 Sim Mods
Aging is an unavoidable process in The Sims 4. Although you have the option to turn it off, most of us play the game as it is – a simulation of real life. Now, for the most part, our Sims’ lifespans follow the regular line. First, we have a baby, then a toddler, then a child, a teen, a young adult, and finally an adult. However, the time periods of all these aging phases don’t make much sense, right?
That’s why we’re introducing here the Lifespan Mod. What this and no other Sims 4 mods in 2021 do is that it regulates the aging stages of our Sims. It does so in a much more natural way, so we end up having a cohesive development.
For example, all of the aging phases except for babies are increased and almost doubled. So, instead of our Sims being an adult for 20 days, it will now take them 48 days to mature to elders. The baby period is shortened to 2 days instead of 3, just because they’re difficult to manage. All the other phases feel more natural. Click here to learn more!
While we’re discussing the cycles of nature, we also wanted to give you a brief reason to download the Cycle – Menstruation and Fertility Mod. If you’ve never used this mod before, then here is what you can expect.
First, of course, is the menstrual cycle for your female Sims. As in the real world, when one of your girls has her period, she will have certain moodlets. She can be angry, sad, depressed, or furious. Your job will be to calm them down and help them get through the difficult days.
But that’s not all! The reason why this is one of our favorite Sims 4 mods in 2021 is because of its pregnancy regulations. You see, the mod also introduces pregnancy and fertility to the game, including for teenagers. There will be times when your female Sims will be fertile and times when they won’t be at all. If you don’t want them to get pregnant, though, you can use one of the birth control methods, like pills or condoms. Note that the mod works perfectly if you have your aging turned off in the game.
And another Sims 4 mod that brings menstrual cycles in the game is Wicked Whims. This is a mod that’s popular around the community for its hardcore and 18+ content. Needless to say, it is packed with nudity and sex, so we recommend it only to matured simmers. Aside from that, Wicked Whims has brilliant menstrual cycle settings that are very realistic. We’ve tried them in the past and we’ve loved them! If you want to learn more about Wicked Whims, check our website!
Faster Eating Mod
When it comes to eating and drinking in The Sims 4, mods are often searched for. You see, we already suspend a lot of time following our Sims everywhere. And dining is one of the least interesting things we can watch them do! There is only a couple of interaction that we have all seen them a million times. So why not speed them up?
The mod we use to make our Sims eat and drink faster is this one! In the past, there were many similar mods. However, Sims Eat and Drink Faster AND Optional Version: Prefer to eat at Tables Included is our favorite!
The way this mod works is that it cuts all the unnecessary animations that occur while eating and drinking. As a result, your Sim will sit down at a table and won’t stop eating until she is done. She won’t look anywhere and won’t hum anything to herself. She will only eat! This makes the whole process happen much faster. And honestly, it saves a lot of time when you count the daily minutes we spent on feeding our Sims!
And in the end, we have a bit of an untraditional mod. Twerking is a popular type of dancing nowadays and it’s been like that for some time now. Many people are practicing it and many love to watch it. So why not add it to The Sims 4.
This mod is a creation by itsmetroi and you can read all about it here. When you’re on the dance floor, you can choose “Twerk” among the dancing options in your pie menu. Note that it’s likely that your Sims won’t start to twerk right away. Instead, they will start dancing normally and then lean into it.
Another thing to remember here is that sometimes your Sims won’t want to twerk. If they’re already affected by negative emotions, chances are that they won’t twerk. And if they’re happy, they will start to twerk very soon after your order. And that’s all you gotta know about the twerking mod!
The Sims 4 Camera and Photography Mods
Truthfully, there are many issues concerning the Sims 4 camera. Most of the simmers we know have stated that they prefer to play the game with the Sims 3 camera. Generally, players speculate that The Sims 4 camera was originally intended for laptops and not for personal computers. And it won’t be difficult to believe that once you try your hand at controlling the default camera with your mouse.
Luckily for us, The Sims 4 Camera Mod by Bucklley is a brilliant solution to all who struggle with this problem. If there is one thing that this mod does perfectly is the change between live camera mode and the build camera mode. Instead of having a drift, now you’ll have a smooth transition between the two.
However, that’s not all! This mod also includes more options when it comes to zooming in and zooming out. The ranges of the live and the build cameras are increased, so you can control your screen much easier. There are other customization options included and you can check them all here!
Astral Lights Mod
When we’re talking about Sims 4 mods, we cannot help but mention the Astral Lights Mod. This is one of the most realistic Sims 4 mods that we can think of and it deserves the attention of all simmers.
What does it do? Well, it enhances all the lighting inside the game. For example, when you look over at your city in the sunset, you may feel a bit underwhelmed. After all, The Sims 4 is a 6-year old game and doesn’t keep up with the visuals of modern-day video games. However, Astral Lights solves that problem!
The Sims 4 Astral Lights mod adds heavier sunrises and sunsets, with sunshine all over the place. The same goes for the natural spring glow. And there are also auroras! The auroras will only show at night, but you have the option to turn them off if you wish so. Lastly, expect to see much more stars in the sky at night, no matter if they’re accompanied by auroras or not!
We recommend this mod to any player who likes to keep their graphics high and on point! The mod really helps with immersing yourself in the game!
And visuals bring us to photography! Even though photography is included in The Sims 4 and it has some nice moments, we can all agree that it lacks depth. But, worry not, because there is a mod that turns things around!
The Sims 4 Photography Mod that we’re talking about here is marlynsims’ Sims 4 Semi-Active Photographer Career! This is a fairly new mod and it has only been published a few months ago, in December of 2020. What marlynsims’ mod brings to the table is a complete and satisfying career path as a photographer! This is how she describes this profession:
Being a photographer means a keen eye, a flow of inspiration, patience, and creative touch. Your job will be centered around capturing life, whether it be for memories, for advertisements, to conjure emotions, or to represent a brand. Do you have what it takes to freeze time and create everlasting images that inspire and move the masses?
Of course, you first start as an amateur artist and earn next to nothing. However, you slowly work your way to the ranks of a portrait photographer, fashion photographer, and renowned photographer. As with any other serious career, this mod brings 10 available levels that you can progress through. Each of them grants bonuses and rewards, so you should definitely check it out!
Pose Player Mod
And in the end, we have the Pose Player Mod! This is one of the most popular Sims 4 mods on the internet, and that’s because of its many applications. You see, the Pose Player mod can be used in any way you can imagine. And it works like this.
The first thing that you should take care of is to download and install the Pose Player Mod. You can find all the information about it here. Secondly, you also must try the Teleport Any Sim mod. This is a simple tool from the same creator of the Pose Player mod. And it lets you move any Sim to any place in the game, which is perfect for a group photo! You can download the Teleport Any Sim mod here!
And finally, you’ll need actual poses. Now, poses are like any other type of Custom Content. This means that you can search the internet and find individual poses packs, then download them, and add them to your game. And thanks to the Pose Player mod, you’ll have them ready to use once you get into the game. Once you select from the pie menu, your Sims will perform the poses you’ve installed, giving you the perfect photo opportunity!
The Pose Player Mod is a true blast to use, especially if you’re a content creator or you’re running an Instagram Sims account.
The Sims 4 Pets and Animal Mods
Playable Pets Mod
Playing as a pet in The Sims 4 has been the dream of many simmers, including us. When the Cats & Dogs expansion pack was released, we were pretty disappointed to find out that you can’t control one. So, we waited for a suitable mod.
Back in 2017, we found the first Playable Pets Mod. Needless to say, we fall in love with it and it is still one of our favorite Sims 4 mods. Also, we’re happy to say that this mod still works today, and the 2021 version can be found here!
Now, what exactly can you do as a pet in The Sims 4? Shortly, you can do everything that a normal pet in the real world would do. You can hang inside the home, go outside and play in the yard, run around the house, bother your humans, play with other pets, or simply destroy the furniture! There are many interesting interactions in this mod and many funny ones!
The Controllable Pets Mod also brings pets’ needs to the game. These can be Bladder, Hunger, Energy, Play, Affection, or Bowel. And they work pretty much the same as with your human Sims. However, you’ll be responsible for controlling your cat or a dog to go outside and do their potty, for example.
Why should you use this mod? Well, the Controllable Pets is the only mod that allows us to directly control our pets in The Sims 4. It puts them on the same rank as our regular Sims and treats them the same way as humans. This mod gives us the complete freedom of running around as a dog or a cat, and it deserves everybody’s attention!
And while we’re on the topic of animals, there is one more Sims 4 mod that you should be aware of. And that is the Farm Mod for all animal lovers!
If you’ve never heard of this mod, trust us, you’re going to love it! It does come with one requirement, though. And that is the fact that you must have Cats & Dogs expansion pack first in order for the mod to work. But if you already have that covered, then listen up!
The Farm Mod introduces animals like cows, sheep, and pigs. Your Sims will be able to shelter and care for them, then rip all its benefits. For example, cows and sheep will produce wool and milk. So, you can either keep those products for yourself or you can sell them for money. And the same goes for the pigs and the meat.
The whole point here is to have an animal farm as your hobby or occupation. There is also a new trait, called the Farmer trait. You’ll be able to select it whenever you create or edit a Sim. And you must choose it if you want to become an animal farmer. For more info on this mod, check our guide here!
The Sims 4 Realistic Mods
Slice of Life Mod
If you’re even a bit familiar with The Sims 4, then you’ve probably heard of the Slice of Life mod a thousand times. This is perhaps the single-most downloaded and played mod in the entire game. And rightfully so!
Like many other amazing Sims 4 mods, the creator of this one is kawaiistacie. And the point of her Slice of Life mod is to bring the “realness” of life to the game. It’s also one of the most realistic among the Sims 4 mods, just because it does so many things right.
First of all, the mod introduces more depth to our Sims’ facial expressions. Now you can clearly see them smile, laugh, be angry, sad, and everything else in between. It also brings memories to the game, which means that your Sims will be able to remember what they did the day before or a few weeks back.
5 Reasons why you should download the Slice of Life mod:
- Genuine personalities copied from real-life people.
- Realistic emotions, reactions, and memories.
- Rational sickness system.
- Useful smartphones.
- The ability to get drunk and tipsy.
What we’ve found amazing is the fact that all of these features are done fantastically down to the last detail. Kawaiistacie has obviously thought of everything when designing the mod. With it, The Sims 4 seems a lot more like a real-life simulation than previously. The smartphones, the self-awareness, the menstrual cycles, everything is just perfect!

Road to Fame Mod
Ever since the game has come out, simmers have wished for an expansion pack that delivers the experience of becoming a famous individual. And although Sims 4 has its own “famous” career paths, nothing does a better job than the Road to Fame mod.
This is also one of the most popular mods within the community and it has been around for a few years now. Note that this mod gives you the opportunity to rise to the rank of a superstar only by singing. So truthfully, Road to Fame gives you the Singer career path, but in a very interesting way.
First, you start off as an amateur singer and you have to practice professional singing. But later on, you can start writing your own lyrics and record song. In the end, you’ll be able to perform in front of a live audience, record record-breaking hits, and sell music albums! Through all of this, you’ll be followed by many fans and paparazzi. And it will be up to you to figure out how you’re going to act in front of them!
Be aware that the City Living expansion pack is required if you want to use this mod!
On the other hand, we have the Roommates Mod. This is a quality-of-life change for The Sims 4 and it’s suited for a special category of players. Those of you who don’t want your Sims to live either with their families or completely alone, now they can rent apartments with roommates!
The roommates system works something like this. First, you’ll need it to find a suitable roommate via the “LMS Roommates Service”. That’s available on your phone or computer. Once you chose the person you want to live with, they will arrive shortly on your doorstep. They will pay rent each Friday and they will help you clean up the apartment when necessary. Note that you can share an apartment with a maximum of 20 Sims.
The Roommates mod grants access to a few interesting interactions between the Sims. For example “You are on cleaning duty!” will command your roommate to start cleaning. Or “It is late already. You should go to sleep.” suggest them to leave you alone.
But the part we love the most about this mod is the fact that the roommate NPCs are all regular people. They all have jobs or schools, so they act and behave normally. During the day they’ll be out, and during the night they’ll be home. So the whole process feels genuine.
Thanks to the Vintage Glamour stuff pack, we received butlers in The Sims 4. However, we can all agree that they’re nowhere the place where we want them to be. So, we turn to the Butler Mod!
The Sims 4 Butler Mod is a very simple extension done by littlesmssam. It adds the butler service to the game, with many well-developed features and options. For example, you have the complete freedom to choose which butler is going to serve you and how is he going to do that.
You can select the option for your butler to not cook, not throw food, or to do no gardening at all. You can also remove the silly butler outfit from the necessity list or give them a uniform yourself. And the best part is that you can check and uncheck which moodlets you never want to see on your butler. These include Bored, Stressed, Uncomfortable, and others.
The Butler Mod is a nicely rounded addition to the game and we recommend you to use it if you’re looking for the best home service. Your Sims will be pleased and happy with their new butlers!
Remember that scary burglar from The Sims 4? The one that used to creep in your house once you turned off the lights and steal something from your home? Well, he is back in The Sims 4 thanks to a burglar mod! Prepare your safety alarms!
This is one of the best and most realistic Sims 4 mods. Not only does it adds burglars into the game, but it also brings a lot of violence to the table. It’s likely that sometimes an armed group of robbers, with guns, bats, and knives, will show up on your doorstep and demand money. So you’ll have to be able to fend them off. Calling the police is also an option, though it’s not the most effective in every situation.
And you know what else? You can become a burglar yourself! Yep, you can ditch your moral compass and rob stranger Sims like in Grand Theft Auto! You can also cause car accidents and other violent acts. But note that the same can happen to you if you aren’t a burglar.
The burglars we’re talking about here are part of the mod called Life Tragedies. It’s one of the biggest mods for the game and has tons of interesting things to offer. Our favorite part, though, is the burglar system, and you can learn more about it here!
There can’t be a list of Sims 4 realistic mods without a police mod, right? Similar to the burglar mod we mentioned above, the police mod we want to recommend to you is a part of the Extreme Violence mod. This mod breaks the morality of The Sims 4 and introduces radical fighting, gangs, wars, shootings, and yes, a police service.
The point of Extreme Violence is to introduce the harsh reality of the world. Your Sims will be able to experience injustices and injuries. However, they will also be able to cause them if they choose to become gang members instead. Gangs provide very interesting gameplay and you must check it out.
The police, on the other hand, will be responsible for controlling these gangs. Regular Sims, including you, can call the police and demand protection. Or they can assist them in catching criminals as volunteers. The police is a very good option to consider if you want to protect yourself and your family in the Extreme Violence mod. Elevators have become the primary way of transporting people from floors to floors in our modern-day world. Well, we’ve always felt like there is a lack of Sims 4 mods and CC on the topic of elevators. However, here is everything that you need for elevators in The Sims 4!
Basically, you have three options here. You can go with littlemssam’s WEE Elevators, the Functional Elevator Doors, and Portals mod, or the Teleporter and Elevators.
WEE Elevators is a fantastic mod that will only work if you have both the City Living and Jungle Adventure packs. But if you do, the mod will give you two elevators, each available for purchasing. And the rule states that you can put up to 10 elevators in one house (lot).
The Functional Elevator Doors and Portals mod requires Realm of Magic. It’s perhaps the best out of these three, and we recommend you to use it if you have the expansion pack needed.
And lastly, you can use Teleporters and Elevators. This mod only requires City Living and nothing else. There are 3 kinds of elevators that you can choose from, and they all work nicely!
Make sure to read our guide to know how these mods work!
The Sims 4 Fantasy Mods
On the fantasy side of things, we have a couple of amazing Sims 4 mods that we want to share with you. And the first one is the Werewolf mod!
The Werewolf mod is the unofficial addition of werewolves as a playable race in The Sims 4. However, it’s one of the best mods that has ever been created and it features everything that might expect from such a mod. First of all, you have the werewolf models, which look incredible in both male and female forms. Then you have all the mystery around them. And you have their specific characteristics and interactions.
Being a werewolf has all kinds of benefits. You have 5 available levels to progress through, each of which unlocks different actions or rewards. For example, Level 3 grants the action to call other werewolves. You can use these gatherings to practice sparring with the rest of the members of your pack or simply to socialize.
Note that your Sim will remain in their regular human form during the day and only transform to a werewolf at night. Check the entire guide here!
Become a Sorcerer Mod
When we put Realm of Magic aside, simmers don’t have any alternative when it comes to magic/sorcery. We’ve met many simmers who were simply not satisfied with how the game pack was done. And if you feel the same way, then the Become a Sorcer mod is right for you!
You see, Become a Sorcerer is a mod that gives you another way of enjoying being a spellcaster. Its differences with Realm of Magic begin right from the start. Because in order to become a spellcaster you need to undergo one of three rituals. These are “The Ritual of Digestive Control”, “The Ritual of Runner’s Vigor”, and “The Ritual of Forced Isolation”. Choosing one of these rituals will define the type of spellcaster you will become later on.
The Become a Sorcerer mod also allows for studying the black arts of magic. This means that you can learn the most dangerous of spells and become a supervillain. The different kinds of spells are sorted into different categories. Each category has 5 ranks. And each rank grants new spells!
All in all, it’s a very fun mod that all magic lovers should try out!
Ghosts have been around in The Sims 4 for a long time. However, we can’t accept that what the base game offers is all there is to these phenomena. And that’s why we use the Better Ghosts mod!
What Better Ghosts does the best is that it fixes nearly all errors, bugs, and “mistakes” concerning ghosts in The Sims 4. For example, the mod allows you to have up to 5 ghosts per lot, instead of 4. Also, angry ghosts will now always turn on the TVs and radios. And you’ll have to worry about not bothering your ghost too much if the ghost has died on your lot.
With this mod, ghosts are much more fun to play around with in The Sims 4. They have more depth and they feel like real characters when interacting with them, rather than translucent floating objects. Head over to this page to read more about Better Ghosts!
Zombie Apocalypse Mod
Ah, who doesn’t like a good old-fashioned zombie apocalypse? And although there have been many mods in this category in the past, the one that has passed the test of time is The Sims 4 Zombie Apocalypse Mod!
The thing that distinguishes this mod from the rest is the attention to the zombie details. The first thing that you’ll notice is the “Zombification Virus”. This is the thing that will cause people to start turning into undead monstrosities. It will mostly spread through the air support system. But later on, zombies can bite off normal Sims and turn them into their kind.
Once this apocalypse starts, you have two options. You’ll either try to survive and fend off the zombies from your neighborhood. Or you’ll turn into a zombie yourself and spread the virus even further! If you choose the first option though, you’ll get access to special equipment. This includes guns, sprays, and cure vaccines.
It’s possible to go from a zombie to a regular Sim and from a regular Sim to a zombie. Once a friendly Sim gets infected with the Zombification Virus, you can inject them with a serum to cure them completly. And if you inject the Zombification Virus vaccine, they whey will turn into zombies again!
As a survivor, you can volunteer to fight zombies and call S.W.A.T. teams to help you out. And you will definitely need them when the Nemesis appears – the most dangerous zombie in the world!
Armageddon Superhero Mod
And finally, we have something truly special! A mod that lets you become a superhero or a supervillain! What are you going to choose? But before you make your decision, this is what you should know!
Becoming a superhero or a supervillain is very simple. The first requires you to complete the “Seek superpowers from the Thunderbolt Spirits” event. And the second one “Seek Dark Powers from the Cursed Painting “Hell Flames”.
But being a superhero or a supervillain is much more. First, you can choose your own walking style, access spells, receive quests. Completing tasks will reward you with more experience and you’ll ascend the ranks. Be prepared to either stop fights or cause them, depending on what you choose. Both paths are incredibly fun to play and you should try them both.
Spoiler alert, the culmination of this mod happens when the superhero and the supervillain meet in a battle. This is the time when you’ll have to give everything to defeat your archenemy. And you’ll decide who’ll be the winner!
