The Sims 4 Age Down Cheat – Explained
But before we go any further, let me just tell you that there isn’t a specific cheat for aging down Sims. In other words, there isn’t an “age down cheat” for Sims 4.
Instead, what we use as a substitute for an age down cheat is called the CAS cheat for Sims 4.
If you didn’t know, using the CAS cheat is essentially unlocking the Create-a-Sim menu. This allows you to fully edit your Sim exactly as the first time you were creating them. With this cheat, you can edit anything on your Sim like hairstyles, clothes, body shape, but also age too.
So, here are all the steps for using the age down cheat for Sims 4!
- 1 Step: Enable cheats with “testingcheats true”.
- 2 Step: Write the “cas.fulleditmode” cheat code to enter the CAS menu.
- 3 Step: Once you’re in CAS, drag down your Sim’s age line to the point you want.
- 4 Step: Save the changes and return to your game.
As you might have guessed, using this cheat also means that you can make an adult Sim a child and vice versa. It gives you all the freedom when it comes to editing your Sim, so you can make them a teenager or a kid again.

Is there a way to make the Sims 4 Lifespan longer?
Luckily, there is an in-game option that allows your Sims to live a little longer, so you’ll need no cheats for this task. Go to the three dots in the upper right corner. Then, click Game Options>Gameplay>Sim Lifespan. You will see three options (Short, Normal, and Long), where the default life span of Sims in your game is Normal. To extend their life span, just select Long, and Apply Changes. This will extend the life of all your Sims from 114 (Normal lifespan) to 348 (Long lifespan).
Can I turn off Ageing in Sims 4?
Now, let’s say your character has grown on you, and don’t want to make your Sim any younger or older, but would love to make them live forever. You can do that by playing with game settings!
In Sims 4 you have the option to turn off aging and therefore make your favorite characters live eternally. To do that, go to Game Options>Gameplay>Auto Age(Played Sims)>No to disable aging for the Sims you are playing. You can also turn off the Auto Age (Unplayed Sims) to stop all Sims in the game from aging. As simple as that!
Can I turn off Death in Sims 4?
While we can disable aging in Game Options as mentioned previously, this option does is simply cancel out a chance of dying from old age. This means your Sims can still die from natural disasters, in a home fire, starvation, etc. So, to keep them safe from death type death.toggle false. However, this cheat impact all your Sims, so it will completely turn off the option of dying. This is a completely reversible cheat, so to turn death back on, just type death.toggle true. All your Sims will now be completely safe from death, and practically immortal.
Is there a way to reset Current Age Days?
Both the in-game option and the cheat option mentioned above turn off death, but they affect either the whole household or all Sims in the game. The cas.fulleditmode cheat that was also mentioned can change the current age of your Sim, from toddler to elder, but not necessarily reset the days of their current age stage.
To affect the age of only one Sim, reset and make them stay at their current age, you’ll have to rely on buying the Potion of Youth. The Potion of Youth Reward costs 1,500 reward points. To acquire those points, type sims. give_satisfaction_points 1500 and hit Enter. Instead of 1500, if you prefer, you can type a higher number so that you don’t have to cheat rewards points the next time you need the potion.
Or, type in bb.showhiddenobjects to unlock the option to buy the Potion of Youth for free in the buy menu. Drinking it will reset your Sim’s current age back to the beginning of that stage. So if they are on Day 8 of being a Young Adult, the potion will reset them to Young Adult day 1. You will have to buy it again once they reach the end of their current stage.
Why is my Sim aging up Fast?
If your game settings aren’t set to Short Lifespan, you shouldn’t have problems with speedy aging. However, bugs can happen. Although The Sims 4 has fixed an auto-aging glitch with one of the last patches, it can happen that you still detect issues with your saved games that you played while the glitch was active.
Load your backup saved game, and once you are in the map view, go to Game Options>Gameplay>Life Span> Normal and Auto Age (Played Sims)> No, and then hit Apply Changes. Once that is done, go and play your active household for a little while. After a few minutes of gameplay, go to Game Options again, Gameplay, and then select your desired life span and Auto Age options.
However, unfortunately, this may not work for Sims who were already affected by the bug and have aged in your saved game. In this case, your best bet is to look for backup saved games or recover saves before your characters were affected by this error.
How to Enable Cheats in Sims 4?
And if you have trouble enabling cheats in the game, here’s how to do that too.
To enable cheats in Sims 4, the first thing to do is hit SHIFT + CTRL + C on your keyboard. If you’re a mac user, CMD + CTRL + C will do the job for you. Similarly, if you play Sims 4 on a console, just hold the back four triggers on your controller until the command console box pops up.
Once the cheat box appears in the top left corner of your screen, you simply need to type “testingcheats true” in the bar and hit Enter.
The game will immediately inform you that cheats are now activated in your game. You’ll also be warned that you can’t earn achievements while using cheats, so be aware of that too.
In the end, just add the cheat you want to use in the game and you’re done. In our case here, the “cas.fulleditmode” is the one you’re going to need if you want to age down your Sims.
And that’s about it!
