Find Out How To Age Up Your Pet!
Having a pet in The Sims 4 is tons of fun. But you know what an absolute blast is? Playing the game with two or three pets running around the house! Seriously, pets are awesome. And cute. And exciting. Except when they don’t grow up as fast as we want them to. Fortunately for you, we have more than one ways to age up your pets in The Sims 4!
But first of all, do pets age up automatically in Sims 4?
Yes. Just like any human Sim, pets have their own life cycles. Dogs start as puppies, and cats start as kittens. However, with time they grow up and eventually reach old age. And if you’ve been playing Sims 4 for a while, then you know that pets can also die of natural death too.
So can you age down a dog or a cat in Sims 4? You know, to save all sim puppies and kittens…
Yup! There is a way to age down a pet in The Sims 4, just like there is one of aging up. In this guide, we’ll talk about all the known techniques of influencing your pet’s lifespan, with or without cheats. So no matter whether you want to mature your pet or save it from the inevitable end, this post will help you out!
First, let’s talk about how to age up your pet in Sims 4 the natural way!
How To Age Up Pet In Sims 4 With Treats?
The first method of aging up your pet is by giving it treats. But this can’t be done with any treats in The Sims 4. No, no! The only types of treats that have this magical quality to them are the ones you can craft from the Dr. Magi-Heal’s Medcine Craft-o-Matic.
The Dr. Magi-Heal’s Medicine Craft-o-Matic is a machine you can spot in the veterinarian offices. But you can also find it in the Hobbies section of the buy mode and install it in your house.
Once you have the machine, you need to make sure that your Sim has their veterinarian skill at least at level 6. The interaction to craft the age up treats is only unlocked then, so you might need to work on your vet skill first.
However, if you don’t have that kind of time, use these vet cheats to quickly level up your skills!
Once you create the age up treats, simply give them to your pet! And after a couple of seconds, your pet should be all grown up!
How To Age Up Pet In Sims 4 With Cheats?
But if working on your veterinarian skill seems like a definition of boredom to you – we suggest you use the CAS cheat!
The idea here is simple – you select your pet, go into the CAS mode, age up your pet how much you want, then come back to the gameplay. The CAS cheat can be used to do this on any Sim and not only your pet. Find more info about it here!
The first thing you need to do here is to enable cheats. That’s easily done through the CTRL + SHIFT + C command. Once the window in the top left corner of your screen pops up, simply type testingcheats true and hit Enter.
The second step is to insert the CAS cheat, which is cas.fulleditmode. After you got that covered, simply click on your pet while holding down SHIFT. This will let you Modify in CAS.
And that’s how you can age up your pet with cheats in Sims 4!
How To Age Down Your Pet In Sims 4?
If you want to age down your pet in Sims 4, you can also choose whether to use treats or cheats. Both of the approaches we’ve discussed above can be applied to age down a pet’s age as well as to age it up. Simply repeat the same steps with the opposite intention.
For example, if you’re going to use treats, you’ll need to create the age down treats. And if you’re going to Modify in CAS, just drag the age bar down instead of up.
Conclusion
And that’s pretty much all you need to know about aging pets up or down in The Sims 4. The whole process is really easy and straightforward, especially if when you’ve done it a couple of times. By using these methods, you can always control the age of your pet and set it up to your preference.
Hope this post was helpful to you! Happy simming!
