Get To Work Cheats: Get The Most Of The First Sims 4 Expansion!
Get to Work was the first expansion pack released for the Sims 4, and brought with it a quite few exciting features! Sims can earn simoleons by opening a business, baking delicious baked goods, or joining one of the three new active careers. Not to mention there is a new occult life state specific to this EP – Aliens! Like with every Sims 4 DLC, there is also a set of Get To Work cheats that can help you achieve some key gameplay goals, be it triggering an alien abduction, reaching level 10 in the Scientist career, or simply mastering the baking skill! To help you out, we’ve gathered all those handy cheats for you and listed them below. Enjoy!

How To Enable Cheats In Sims 4?
Before we explore Get To Work cheats, we need to activate cheats, first! Launch the game and start playing. Then, open the cheat bar by simultaneously pressing the following buttons:
- PC: Ctrl + Shift + C
- Mac: Command + Shift + C
- PlayStation: L1 + R1 + L2 + R2
- Xbox: LT + RT + LB + RB
The cheat bar will pop up in the upper left corner of your screen. Type testingcheats true (or testingcheats on), hit Enter, and cheats are now enabled in your game!
1. Career Cheats: Doctor, Scientist, And Detective
Get To Work EP features three new active careers, that are pretty fun, but can be demanding. These are Doctor, Scientist, and Detective career, and all have 10 levels for Sims to conquer. Luckily, there are cheats that can help your Sim climb to the top of the ladder without much effort. These are the promotion codes:
- To promote Sims in Scientist career – careers.promote adult_active_scientist
- To promote Sims in Detective career – careers.promote detective
- To promote Sims in Doctor career – careers.promote doctor
Note that these career cheats trigger promotion for only one level at a time for Sims who are already employed in these fields. You will need to type the cheat a few times to help them climb a few levels up. For instance, to go from level 1 to level 4 in the Doctor career, you’ll need to use the careers.promote doctor cheat three times to get to level 4. To demote your Sims, just replace the word promote with demote:
- Scientist career – careers.demote adult_active_scientist
- Detective career – careers.demote detective
- Doctor career – careers.demote doctor

2. Skill Cheats: Baking
Initially, there were two skills specific to Get To Work, baking and photography. However, photography later became a base game skill, and is now available to all players. Baking is still specific to Get To Work EP. It’s a major skill with 10 levels, and gives Sims an opportunity to enjoy fine pastries and earn some money by selling baked goods. You can make them learn gradually, or use a cheat for leveling up baking skill!
To use a baking skill cheat, just use stats.set_skill_level major_baking #. Replace the ‘#’ symbol at the end of the cheat with a number from 1-10, depending on what level you want them to reach.
For example, to make them max out baking, type stats.set_skill_level major_baking 10, and the game will instantly notify you that your Sim has just mastered baking!
3. Trait Cheats: Sickness Resistance Hidden Trait
Although there are no new personality traits or aspirations that come with the Get To Work expansion, there is a new hidden reward trait Sims can unlock. This is the Sickness Resistance trait, and it can only be earned by reaching level 8 in the Doctor career – or by using cheats!
- To give your Sim Sickness Resistance trait – traits.equip_trait Trait_Doctor_SicknessResistant
- To remove Sickness Resistance trait – traits.remove_trait Trait_Doctor_SicknessResistant
These chats apply to all Sims, not just those who work as doctors. Thanks to cheats, you can give (or remove) this trait to any adult, regardless of their profession!
4. Reatail Cheats: Perks
Besides three new careers, the first Sims 4 expansion pack also features a retail system that allows Sims to open and run their private business. There are so many shop ideas you can come up with, Sims can open flower shops, pet stores, or even witchcraft stores. Managing a business and earning perk points to spend on retail parks takes time, but luckily, cheats can come in aid anytime:

5. New Life Form: Alien Cheats!
Aliens are a new life form that comes with the Get To Work Expansion pack. The pack features a new hidden mini world, or a hidden alien lot called Sixam, as well as new alien objects, plants, and collectibles. And you guessed it, there are Get To Work cheats that unlock these and can even turn your Sim into an alien.

Using these cheats, you can unlock objects such as a satellite dish or a rare plant called UFO fruit, make an alien from Sixam your family member, or trigger an abduction. The abduction cheat is especially helpful if you want to get your Sim pregnant by an alien.
