In order to even have a chance at making this potion, your sim has to become a spellcaster. To learn potions, your spellcaster Sim needs to have a cauldron at their disposal. Once you are on a decent level, you will be able to create all kinds of potions.
One of these potions is the Potion of Immortality. Technically, this potion is going to stop you from dying of old age. It won’t stop you from actually aging, but you won’t have to worry about old age killing you off.

To make this potion, you need to have mandrake, sage, morcubus, and diamond.

Potion Success Vs. Potion Failure
Now just because you want the potion to go well doesn’t mean it will. If the potion does work out your sim won’t have to worry about ever dying of old age. However, if your sim managed to screw up the potion, it will end up into a ghost for 24 hours with a +3 stressed moodlet.
Once this is over, they will turn back into a human. Hey, at least it isn’t permanent! You should be grateful for at least that.

Actually, you can learn potions from the start, however you won’t be able to learn and make the potion of inmortality until you reach the Master level. Once you reach it, you will be given two tomes, one of them is the book that will allow you to learn to make the potion and it will give you a samplefor you to try.
Becoming a ghost is a side effect of the inmortality potion, it doesn’t mean the potion does not work or that you failed at making it. Once you become a ghost, you can have fun possesing book shelfs at the Spellcasters Headquarters or ghost scare your friends. Once the 24 hours are over, you become inmortal.
