Rock Climbing in Sims 4

Rock climbing is one of the most fun activities you can do in Sims 4. It was introduced with the Snowy Escape expansion pack that came out in 2020. Snowy Escape added a bunch of winter-related activities for our Sims to do in the new world of Mt. Komorebi. But working on your rock climbing skill in Sims 4 is one of the best things you can do here.

For anyone that hasn’t seen this activity in-game, rock climbing is exactly what the words suggest – your Sims climbs rocks on walls and mountains. They start by climbing the smallest wall available and progress to more challenging feats when they level up the skill.

All in all, rock climbing can be a great thing to do with many Sims. Chances are that you’ll find it interesting and refreshing because it’s a bit different than the other skills in the game.

So, let’s see how you can do rock climbing in Sims 4!

The Sims 4: Doctor Career Guide!

How to Do Rock Climbing in Sims 4?

Rock climbing is relatively easy. It doesn’t require any other skill or item, so you can start doing it right from the get-go. Here’s all you need to know.

The first thing you need to do is to go to the north area of Mt. Komorebi. Near the Bunny Slopes, you’ll find a small wall for rock climbing. This is your starting wall and the first one your Sim will need to climb.

For rock climbing, the ideal mood is Focused. Of course, having the Focused moodlet isn’t a must. But it increases the chances of your Sims succeeding each time they climb the wall. This then increases your overall rock climbing skill, so you can move faster onto other bigger walls.

Once you level up the rock climbing skill a bit, you can go to the opposite area of the neighborhood. There you’ll find a bigger wall for rock climbing. And continue with the same thing.

There’s also sporting gear you can buy that increases the chances of rock climbing. You can find this gear on your computer and simply order it. Once you put it on, your Sim will succeed much more in mountain climbing.

And finally, there are Energy Bars and Protein Bars. These are consumables that your Sim learns to craft when they reach levels 7 and 9 in the rock climbing skill. Energy Bars require Apple and Cherry while Protein Bars require Blackberry and Strawberry. They will help you manage your hunger and energy needs much better, so you can keep on climbing.

There are more benefits and more interactions for each level.

Sims 4 Rock Climbing Cheat

But if you don’t feel like leveling the entire rock climbing skill in Sims 4 by simply climbing, you also have the option to do it with a cheat. This is faster, easier, and it unlocks all of the rewards from the skill.

So, what is the cheat for Sims 4 rock climbing?

  • stats.set_skill_level major_rockclimbing 10

Here you can swap the “10” number with anything between 1-10. The number represents the skill level you’re going to get with the cheat. So, you choose which one you want.

Keep in mind that in order to use this cheat, you’ll need to enable cheats first. This is done with the testingcheats true command, so insert that one before the rock climbing skill cheat.

Conclusion

And that’s all you need to know about starting with rock climbing in Sims 4! This skill is a really fun activity you can do, especially if you love snow-related sports. I always enjoy mountain climbing with my Sims because it’s a bit different from the rest of the skills in the game.

That said, good luck on your rock climbing adventures!
