Sims 4 Grocery Store Mods – How to Shop for Groceries?

The Sims 4 Grocery Store Mod (UNMAINTAINED)

When we initially published a piece about grocery store mods it was solely about this mod in particular, but unfortunately the mod is no longer being maintained. It was last updated in 2016, and as of 2020 it doesn’t seem to be functioning properly anymore.

We still wanted to include it here for players who might be wondering what happened to the mod, and to let players know that it’s no longer being supported. Creator SMagGeorge appears to have left the modding community completely in 2017 to focus on IRL work.

Shop For Groceries

This is a pretty simple mod that will allow your sims to order groceries at their convenience. Using a phone computer, tablet, or cash register, sims can purchase all produce, fish, and flowers that are available (based on the DLCs you have) and the items will show up in the sim’s inventory. Though not as realistic as going to a grocery store, it gives you another option for realism since these days many of us are able to order groceries in the same fashion. It sure beats waiting for the market stalls to open, that’s for sure!

My Grocery List Shopping Mod

This mod adds some challenge to the process of making food in that your ingredients will matter regardless of what you’re making (so long as it’s one of the mod’s recipes). Click on the grocery list to select a recipe to make, and if you don’t have all the needed ingredients  you will be unable to make it. Once you are able to make a recipe the sim in possession of the food item will learn the recipe themselves, or you can put the item in the fridge to teach its recipe to all sims in the household.

In order to make the mod work you need to download the included recipe files, which consist of a collection of different Hot Pocket flavorings.

Grocery Market Anywhere

This mod essentially takes the market stalls of Cottage Living (required) and condenses them down into a single shopping bag that can be placed anywhere and accessed at any time. It was created to make playing with the “Simple Living” Lot Trait more bearable but you can use it to easily add a grocery store to any other lot you build. This makes it great for builders who like mixed-use community lots!

Grocery Store Pt.1

Using Retail mechanics from Get To Work (required), this collection features a number of grocery display objects that have several useful properties. Different displays will allow you to purchase fruit, vegetables, and/or fish directly from them and all displays have refrigeration so stored foods will take longer to spoil. You can store foods and ingredients in these cases, and there’s plenty of slots for additional deco items.

Check the “Recommended” tab on the download page for links to Grocery Store Parts 2-4, which add additional deco objects for furnishing a full-fledged grocery store.

Bulk Grocery

Users actually have the choice between deco-only and functional items with this set, depending on whether or not you download the optional bulk grocery mod file. The items are enabled to bulk purchase cc food ingredients made by a number of creators (all listed and linked on the download page) for a more realistic shopping experience. Ingredients include things like flour, sugar, beans, rice, and coffee.

Don’t forget the grocery bags mod file to make them functional!

Realistic Cooking Mod

This is a very extensive food mod which includes a functional self-checkout register than can be used to purchase ingredients from the mod, along with ingredients from several other mods such as recipes by SrslySims, ONI, Littlbowbub, BrazenLotus, & TianaSims. Put the register on any lot where you’d like to make groceries available for purchase.
