Wicked Pixxel is a prolific creator for The Sims 4, known for crafting and launching cool mods, custom content, and lot builds for the game. They are active on Patreon, YouTube, Tumblr, Twitter, and their own website. We have featured most of Wicked Pixxel’s creations here at SNOOTYSIMS, but today, we’ll zone in on one of their most recent releases, the Family Gameplay mod—which allows our Sims to participate in new family interactions and—oh boy—infuses a big dose of drama into every household.
Features of the Family Gameplay Mod
The Family Gameplay mod introdcues all new interactions in the household for all family members through a lifestyle trait called the “All in The Family.” Let’s learn more about these, as well as other features, in the sections below!
1. All in The Family Trait
The “All in the Family” trait can be equipped via Create-A-Sim (CAS) mode. To unlock all 160 new interactions for all family members, each Sim in the household must have this trait. This will enable them to take part in family social events, build the Family Bonding Skill, and pursue the Tight Knit Family Aspiration. Once our Sims have this trait, we can click on them to access the “Family” social pie menu.
2. Tight Knit Family Aspiration
With the Family Gameplay mod comes a new aspiration called the Tight Knit Family. Choosing this aspiration will grant our Sims with the Good Family Communicator trait. To complete this aspiration, our Sims must accomplish the following milestones:
- Share past family memory (family bonding skill level 3)
- Share a private moment (family bonding skill level 2)
- Reach family bonding skill level 3
- Tell a funny story
- Give a friendly hug
- Reach family bonding skill level 6
- Take a photo with a household member
- Play video games with a household member (Party Frenzy On Console)
- Reach family bonding skill level 9
3. Family Bonding Skill
Family Bonding is a new skill introduced in this mod. To be able to accomplish milestones in the Tight Knit Family aspiration, our Sims must build this skill up. Like most of the other major skills in the game, Family Bonding has a total of 10 levels, including:
- Level 1 – Acquired the Family Bodning skill
- Level 2 – Can share a private moment with family members
- Level 3 – Can share a past family memory
- Level 4 – Can share a dark family secret
- Level 5 – Can Protect the family name
- Level 6 – Can make future family plans
- Level 7 – Can open up about a personal problem to a family member
- Level 8 – Can apologize for family drama
- Level 9 – Can offer family bonding session
- Level 10 – Can offer emotional boost to family members
4. Family Drama and Family Roles
Like in real-life situations, the Family Gameplay mod incorporates several family issues in The Sims 4. To add these serious matters into our game, click on “Add Family Drama”, and choose from the following traits:
- Alcoholism
- Abusiveness
- Drug Addiction
- Family Business
- Selfishness
- Worry Wart
These can then be removed at any time. Additionally, we can also assign familial roles to our Sims in the game, which can also be added and removed anytime. These are the included roles to choose from:
- Black Sheep
- Golden Child
- Nurturer
5. Family Events
Of course, to make familial matters more dynamic, creator Wicked Pixxel also included plenty of new family activities for our Sims. These can be accessed via the calendar or the phone. The Challenge Reward for each event is a kitchen appliance, and planning one does not cost any simoleons.

How to Install The Family Gameplay Mod?
Install the Family Gameplay mod, by following these easy steps below:
- This mod requires us to have the latest game version of The Sims 4.
- Head over here and scroll to the bottom of the post to download the said mod.
- Once downloaded, extract the ZIP file and paste it into your Sims 4 Mods folder.
- Then, make sure that the use of mods and custom content has been enabled in our game settings.
