We knew with the release of this summer’s roadmap that upcoming content for The Sims 4 would be focused on romance and intimacy, with our hint for the next EP being a “flirtatious Expansion Pack.” The upcoming Pack adds several new dynamics to the romance system that previously were only available through mods, along with a new career and neighborhood. Here are the details so far!

A New Way To Find Dates

The Sims 4 Lovestruck introduces a new mobile phone app called “Cupid’s Corner” where your sims can browse potential partners. Dates are being reworked into a more advanced system with new ways to connect, such as playing games together and having a romantic cuddle in bed or with the new Romantic Blanket object, which sounds like something that can be placed in your sims’ inventory and taken wherever their heart desires.

Turn Ons and Turn Offs

It’s finally time to let your sims choose what gets their hearts pumping! Decide what kind of things your sims find attractive such as interests and interactions (confirmed), and likely aspects of who they are such as their traits and physical characteristics, too. Each sim will respond to romantic and platonic events based on their own preferences, so you may find that sims in a relationship will have differing levels of fulfillment. As they get to know their partners the relationship will settle into a dynamic whether it be a Wholesome partnership, a Steamy tryst, a Strained romance, or an Unpredictable affair.

For Love And For Money!

Who needs a Romance Guru when you can make a career out of matchmaking for yourself? The new Romance Consultant career will let love-loving sims put their heartfelt energy into the world by helping others find their perfect partner. New heart-shaped furniture is available to your Romance Consultants as they make their way through the career—and it looks like someone has decided to reassemble the Disassembled Heart Bed from the Basement Treasures Kit!

A Spanish Romance?

Check out the new world, Ciudad Enamorada, which is Spanish for “city in love.” Spanish is known as a “romance language” so it’s safe to assume that this new world will have romantic influences from Spain and neighboring Portugal. The world comes with 3 neighborhoods and will be dotted with places for sims to meet, fall for one another, and maybe even Woohoo! Here you’ll encounter a new Lot type, the Singles Hangout, where your sims can mingle with other unattached individuals and hopefully get the sparks flying.

The Sims 4 Lovestruck EP Release Date

You can get your hands on The Sims 4 Lovestruck EP on July 25th but if you preorder between June 27 and September 5 you’ll get access to additional bonus items: Cry Me A River Eyeliner, the Herbert Heart Plushie, and the Basic Breakup Double Bed.
