If your sim is interested in mastering the Apothecary Skill, here’s your guide!

Apothecary Skill Guide

The newest Skill added to the world of The Sims 4 is the Apothecary Skill. This skill is used by sims in the Naturopath Career to help cure a plethora of new Ailments, solve or increase Needs, give boosts to Luck or Balance, and more. Naturopaths can also “cure” other woes a sim is suffering, such as “emotional distress,” for a more nature-focused way of better living.

To excel in the Naturopath Career or become your own Ailment-slaying nature witch, your sims will need to master the Apothecary Skill.

The Apothecary Skill

There are several ways your sim can raise their Apothecary Skill, the most obvious being via practicing at the Leafy Ledge Apothecary Table. Sims can also read Skill books or study on the computer by selecting Web→Research→Research Cures & Elixirs, making the Skill easy to build at home or on the go.

If you have Discover University your sims can sit in on a Skill Class for Apothecary, and players with Businesses & Hobbies can participate in classes focusing on the skill as well.

Gathering Ingredients

Sims working the Apothecary Skill can craft Ailment cures, Elixirs, Emotion Potions, and enchanted objects. Ingredients can be acquired several ways. Common ingredients can be purchased directly from the Apothecary Table so your sim can get started right away. Ingredients can also be foraged from different Worlds, grown at home by your sim, purchased at the Apothecary Stand and/or Grocery Stalls, and earned by completing Fables from Innisgreen NPCs.

Note: Certain enchanted ingredients require sims to be in a specific mood to successfully harvest from them. Failing to put your sims in the proper mood can have deadly results!

Closing Thoughts

If you have a sim who is holistically minded the Apothecary Skill is a great way for them to care for themselves. Those who have a nurturing nature can take this Skill even further, becoming a Naturopath and helping other sims cure their Ailments and other woes. With enough practice your sim can become very powerful, crafting Elixirs and charms that can drastically change the fortunes of those who use them. If this is a skill you’ve been curious about, we hope this post has been a helpful guide.

Until next time, happy simming!
