Why Making Items Bigger is so Beneficial?
Learning how to make items bigger is one of the best things you can do in Sims 4. I can’t stress how crucial it is to scale objects up and down when you’re building a brand new house. And in my opinion, all players that enjoy building in Sims 4 should know how to make items bigger and smaller.
Being able to make the objects in the game look smaller or bigger is a huge advantage for building. It adds an insane amount of diversity when it comes to decorating. You can have one plant in 3 different sizes, which is enough to create the illusion of having 3 different plants.
In this post, I’ll tell you how you can size up or down the objects in your game on all platforms – PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Even though the end result is the same for all three categories, the process is a bit different with each of them.
So, without further ado, let’s talk about how you can make items bigger in Sims 4!
How to Make Items Bigger in Sims 4 on a PC?
Increasing the size of your objects in Sims 4 is the easiest to do on a PC. You don’t need to enable cheats or active cheat commands to make this work. Here’s ho to make items bigger in Sims 4 on a PC:
Hold down “SHIFT” while pressing “]“ or “[” to size up or down your objects. “SHIFT + ]” will increase the size of the item. And “SHIFT + [“ will make the item smaller.
A couple of things to note here is that you can press “SHIFT + [“ or “SHIFT + ]“ as many times as you like. There’s almost no limit to how big you can make an item in Sims 4. In fact, you can scale up a chair to have a size of an entire lot if you want.
Unfortunately, you can’t make an item smaller than its original size. In other words, you can’t make a chair look smaller than it is, only bigger. Once you increase an item, you can use the buttons to scale it down to the original size only.

If you’re playing The Sims 4 on a PlayStation 4, here’s how to make items bigger:
Hold the “L2” and “R2” buttons while using the Up and Down arrows. With the Up arrow, you’ll increase the size of the item. And with the Down arrow, you’ll scale it down.
The same rules apply here. You can increase an item’s size inefficiently, but you can’t make it lower than its original size. But you can use the command without inserting cheats.
How to Make Items Bigger in Sims 4 on an Xbox One?
Similar to PS4, here’s how to make items bigger on an Xbox:
