Learn How to Play with the Mod to Control Pets in The Sims 4!
The mod to control your pets in The Sims 4 is absolutely a blast. If you’ve never before thought it impossible to play as your own pet, then you’re in for a surprise. This Sims 4 mod allows you to control your own pet in such a way that’s the same as an actual human Sim. You can do everything that normal pets do, jump, play, dig, cuddle… There are no restrictions when it comes to your own freedom as a pet, and frankly, you can do whatever you want. You can download the control pets mod here!
However, this mod won’t work if you do not have the Cats and Dogs expansion pack purchased already. It doesn’t add pets to your game, only the option to play as them. It might be a disappointment to some of you, but since we’re dealing with pets here, it’s understandable. On the other hand, this is one of the most popular and fun packs for The Sims 4, so now might be the perfect time for you to purchase it!
Let’s jump into the details and the installation instructions for the mod that allows you to control your pets in The Sims 4!

How to Install the Control Pets Mod?
After you’ve downloaded the mod from Sims 4 Studio, proceed with the normal mod installation. This requires opening the pack via some sort of program like WinRAR and then moving it to your own Sims 4 folder. Here is a summary of the steps you need to take.

Features
Needs
Perhaps the biggest change that this mod brings to The Sims 4 is the full control of your pet’s needs. Here, you play as a pet, so it’s quite natural for you to decide where to nap, who to seek attention from, and where to pee. That’s why you’re given this freedom, which is also a responsibility too. The needs for pets in this mod are Bladder, Hunger, Energy, Play, Affection, and Bowel.
Now, these needs can be satisfied in the same way as your normal Sims. For example, whenever your need for Bladder is running low, you’ll need to search for a place to satisfy this need, be that the outside or the insides of the house. And if your need for Play or Affection is not topped, you can bother your human Sims or other pets.

Cats and Dogs
If you were wondering, there is no obvious difference between cats and dogs with this mod. They have the same needs and can do nearly all of the same interactions like playing outside, asking for attention, or fight in a friendly way.
However, there are a couple of actions that are restricted to only one pet. If you’re playing as a dog, then you can shed and leave hairs around the house, as well as practice tricks with your Human. And if you’re playing as a cat, you can jump on top of things and search for hidden objects in your free time.
There are interactions between the two types of pets as well, like chasing each other breathlessly.
Conclusion
The mod to control your own pets is a very fun experience that we recommend to everyone! It is so much interesting to see the world through your pet’s eyes and see what they’re seeing on a daily basis.
On the plus side, this mod can be combined with tons of other mods, like mods for visual upgrades. Make sure to read the author’s notes and learn how to combine these mods! Happy simming!
