Making it through University can be difficult. Studying, socializing, extracurricular activities, tests, term papers, presentations…there’s so much to juggle in order to keep your grades up! It’s tough enough earning any sort of degree, but if you really want the accolades you’re going to want a Distinguished Degree.

Distinguished Degrees come with many career perks, including a bigger sign-on bonus, better raises, faster promotions, and more vacation days. They set your sim up for a pretty cushy life, something we can all aspire to!

Whether you’re finding uni to be too difficult to play through on your own or you’re creating characters with established backgrounds, the Distinguished Degree cheat can save you hours of stressful gameplay. This is particularly useful if you play on Short Lifespan.

The Distinguished Degrees & Where You Earn Them

Each Distinguished Degree is only available at one university, depending on if it’s art or science based:

If you’re set on your sim being a Distinguished graduate of a specific school, keep in mind that their preferred distinguished degree might not be available there. You can still send your sim to the school of their choice and have them earn (or cheat) a Degree with Honors, which is almost as good.

Distinguished Degree Cheats

The following cheat codes can help your sim earn their Distinguished Degree without all the work—your sims don’t even need to be enrolled in University to use them! Don’t forget to turn on TestingCheats before you get started.

The most noticeable disadvantage of using the Distinguished Degree cheat is that your sim won’t graduate or earn a diploma, but this is easily remedied with another cheat.

Open the cheat console in Buy/Build mode and enter the cheat bb.showhiddenobjects which will unlock diplomas from both Universities. You can find them in Decorations → Wall Decorations or Objects By Room → Dining Room/Outdoors → Wall Decorations. Because going this route means the diploma isn’t tied to a specific sim, the diploma for either University will show as an Art History Degree without Honors if you hover over it in Live Mode; you can still “Enable Emotional Aura” if you click on them and they work just fine for wall decor if you’re trying to build a scene for pictures or just regular gameplay.

There is also a rolled up version of the Diploma found in Decorations → Paintings & Posters or Objects By Room → Bathroom/Bedroom/Dining Room/Living Room/Study/Kids’ Room → Paintings & Posters however it can only be placed on surfaces and has no interactions.
