Take a trip down memory lane at the new Sims 25 Website which just oozes with nostalgia!

EA wasn’t kidding when they named the current event Nostalgia Now. They’ve released a new website with an old-school feel and a perfectly apt address—the-sims-y2k.com—which will transport old simmers back to the turn of the millennium when the property was in its heyday. Let’s explore the Sims 25 Website!
Sims 25 Website
The main page of the Sims 25 website has a background image of the original Sims 1 neighborhood and the text font matches that of the old game, which is similar to the font Comic Sans. As a cheeky nod to how difficult this game was in comparison to today, if you sit on any page for too long you’ll get the following pop-up:

This popup is designed just like the ones you would see in the original title!
Tip: If you want an added challenge/nostalgia hit while visiting the Sims 25 website, click on the “Aa” button at the top right corner of any of the following pages!
Sim Urself

Ah, cringey millennial slang. The Sim Urself uses your webcam to insert your face into one of several images, such as the original Sims 1 and Sims 2 box art or a thought bubble from TS2’s Don Lothario. At the time of writing only half of the images worked for me, but it was still a fun experience!
Simsboard

Get ready to be pulled back 25 years with these sound bytes from earlier The Sims games! While a few of the sounds currently aren’t working most of them are and wow, I can still remember them like it was yesterday. You should definitely check out:
- Flush – The first object ever implemented for The Sims was a toilet. Some even referred to it as “The Toilet Game” in the early days.
- Burglar – The most feared NPC in the original Sims game. Don’t worry older simmers, this sound isn’t the sting that played when a burglar showed up! Instead, it’s the relieving sound of the burglar alarm.
- If you want to relive the trauma of the original Burglar sting, you can hear it in this video.
- Hot tub – The Sims 2 had cutscenes for certain events in the game which included various types of Woohoo. This sound byte is the music that would play during the Hot Tub Woohoo cutscene (if you listen closely you can even hear a few satisfied moans in the audio track).
Simsvision

On the Simsvision page you’ll be able to watch an extensive clip of gameplay from a user playing the Tutorial in The Sims, featuring Bob Newbie in his first franchise appearance. The video player even looks like an old Windows Media Player skin from the noughties. If you’re planning on playing the re-release of this original game, definitely check the video out!
Meme Jacuzzi

This page features a jacuzzi with an assortment of random memes featuring images from The Sims and The Sims 2. There are only a few at the moment but we really hope they add more over time!
Downloads

The last page of the Sims 25 website has desktop and mobile wallpapers you can download to your devices featuring characters from the first 2 games. You might recognize one of the sims from The Sims 1‘s options as the same character we’ve been seeing in the Nostalgia Now art.
See You In The Past!
What a fun trip down memory lane thanks to the Sims 25 website! What was your favorite section of the page?
