Learning how to raise your foundation height in Sims 4 can be pretty beneficial for all of your builds. Setting different foundation heights is often the best way to make a house really stand out. Adding a higher foundation level works well in most builds in the game, so you should definitely try it.

Luckily, the developers of Sims 4 have made it pretty easy for us to raise our foundations. There are actually two methods of doing this, both of which are simple to understand and take almost no effort. You can choose which one you like to use more.

Here’s how to raise your foundation in Sims 4!

1. Use the transparent box.

When you click any room in the house while in the build mode, you’ll see a transparent box. This box indicates the walls of your room, but also the foundations. And if you click-and-drag the slider inside the transparent box (it has arrows pointing up and down), you can raise your foundations. 

Once you do this in a single room, the entire house will automatically adopt the new foundation height. You don’t have to go to each individual room and redo the whole process. Instead, just set your preferred foundation height in one room, and your house is done.

2. Use the “Foundations” section.

The second way of raising your foundation in Sims 4 is to use the “Foundations” section when building. 

While in the build mode, click on the “Foundations” category in the bottom left corner of your screen. Then, you’ll need to select one of the offered designs (bricks, stone, etc.). In the end, use the slider to your left to set the foundation height where you like.

I’d say that this method is easier to use and more fun. You can also see the design of your foundation around your house, which is excellent.

How to Remove Foundation in Sims 4?

When you change your mind about your foundation height, it’s good to know how to remove it. Fortunately, there’s nothing hard about this either. In fact, it’s almost the same process.

To lower your foundation in Sims 4, all you need to do is grab the slider (the box with two arrows pointing up and down) and drag it down. It’s the same way as raising foundations, but instead of going up, you need to go down.

You can use both methods I mentioned above to do this. They work just fine.

Side note: you can’t completely remove your foundation in Sims 4. The floor level will always be there regardless of what you do.
