How to Move Houses in Sims 4!

Moving Houses in the Sims 4: Different possibilities!

Moving can be a big hassle. It involves uprooting everything and then moving. However, moving is not extremely complex in Sims 4. On the contrary, it can be a lot of fun. However, moving houses is not the only kind of moving possible in Sims 4. It is possible for a single sim to move out as well, this way you can have multiple households or merge households. You can buy new houses and lots as well and move your entire sim family (as long as they are 8 members or less).

If you’re looking for house ideas for your next build, you have to give this list a look!

What is the need of moving out a single sim out of a house?

The concept of moving out a single sim can be slightly unnerving but it may be essential or necessary in some cases. For example, if you want to move out a rowdy teen out of your house or you have separated from your partner or even a divorce has occurred then the circumstances demand for a sim to move out. Even if it’s not the need of the hour but you want to get more interactive with the game play, you can manage multiple households.

How do you move a single sim out of the house?

It’s a fairly simple task. When you press ESC, you will see a menu that pops up which says “manage worlds”. After you’re done selecting the house you want the sim to move out of, you can click on the three dots and then select the option of managing households. From this point onwards you will have multiple options which include:

  • Removing a sim from the game which means you can delete them altogether by going into the create a sim mode.
  • Transferring a sim between households so they can move into the same neighborhood. This can be a new household or an existing one depending on if you’ve dabbled with moving before and have previous households.

Keep in mind: Kids can’t be moved into new households alone although it is possible for teenagers to live on their own. Kids must be accompanied by adults.

Moving a Sim into a new household

Since moving out individually means getting a new beginning and starting a new life on your own, your sim will have $20,000 for getting a new house. In this budget you will be able to buy a starter home realistically. You can select the manage households tab and then tap on the moving truck icon which means move household onto lot. This is the part where you can select where the sim will live according to the budget allotted. They can continue to have a merged storyline which is connected with the sims from your previous household or you can give them a brand new beginning altogether. This give you a lot of options to choose from and make a story line using your own imagination.

However, if you are not satisfied with the budget allotted and you want your sim to move into a better place then you can always take the help of cheats. If you have never used cheats in your Sims 4 before and want to enable them then you need to go through a few simple steps.

To enable cheats:

Just type CTRL + Caps + C and a pop up will appear. Type in the words ‘’testingcheats true’’ and this will enable cheats for you. The cheat for having more housing options is ‘’freerealestate on’’ which can come in pretty handy if you are not satisfied with the current housing options.

Moving a family of Sims into a new household

If you are considering moving into a new space there could be many reasons for it. Either you are looking to upgrade and have gathered enough funds or the current house is short on space etc. Whatever the case might be, it is good to know how to move houses in Sims 4 right away so it doesn’t get too complicated for you. There are several things you need to be mindful of but it’s good to know the basics first before getting into the nitty gritty.

Right off the bat you need to select the “move household option” from your sims phone which will appear under the travel category. You would be able to choose homes from that point onwards from a map. The homes you can choose will depend on your current financial situation which means the homes that you will be able to buy with the current funds you will have. The aforementioned cheat “freerealestate on” will come in handy at this stage as well. This will make all the houses free.

What about the furniture?

Furniture is used as more of an umbrella term. It doesn’t mean the literal furniture only but everything that was a part of the house like the garden, the plants, the awards etc. while you might not be too keen on all the furniture and might want to get rid of some of it or even most of it, there will be some items that you would want to keep. Before you sell anything, you can put the things you plan on keeping in your house hold inventory. In order to do this, you just need to go in the buy more and drag your desirable intend into the inventory.

If you are not too keen on using the aforementioned cheat, then selling a furnished or semi furnished house is a great way to afford houses above your price range. Alternatively, you can also buy houses without furnishing since they will be cheaper.

Merging houses

Merging houses is a lot of fun!

Merging houses is a really fun option when you are considering moving households in sims 4. You can create a shared living space by bringing in two families in one household. You can do this by merging your current households or you can choose to move in with a family that is currently living in a house you like. When you have merged houses, you will have the same option of selling and keeping the stuff according to your likes and dislikes.

Evicting other sims

If you have chosen a house that is not vacant and you do not wish to move in with the current family, you can evict them. This will take them to household management. From this point onwards you can select a home for that family.

Conclusion

Moving houses in Sims 4 can be a lot of fun. There are so many options to choose from and there are so many ways to do it, not to mention the cheats that can prove to be extremely helpful. If you follow the right tips and the right steps, you will definitely have a lot of fun moving houses in Sims 4.
