The upcoming Businesses & Hobbies Buy/Build items have been leaked! Take a look at all the new goodies.
Businesses & Hobbies, the upcoming Expansion Pack for The Sims 4, is currently in pre-order with a release date of 6 March 2025. All we’ve seen so far is the reveal trailer which only offers a small peek into the upcoming EP content, with more info typically making its way to the public in the time leading up to launch.
Gaming platform Steam has shared some details early, however, and their pre-order page for the incoming DLC has the whole Buy/Build catalog available to check out right now!
Businesses & Hobbies Buy/Build – Nearly 200 New Objects
With a range of styles and content for Residential, Community, and mixed use Lots we have a bunch of stuff to look through!
Decor, Lighting, & Home Accents
There’s a great mix of lighting for homes and businesses with a bit of decor and accents as well. This pack at first appears light on wall hangings & sculptures, but don’t forget that your sims will be drawing up tattoo styles and crafting beautiful ceramics to enhance their spaces too!
If you studied the reveal trailer closely you might notice a lack of certain objects, such as the bust with sunglasses as seen in the background of the tattoo studio:
One clever Redditor has suggested that art forgery could be part of the EP for sims with shadier proclivities!
Furniture & Displays
There’s enough furniture in the catalog to furnish a small home or business, with many of the pieces having a contemporary but lasting style with a few focal pieces to add some personality. Hopefully they come with lots of color swatches so they’re as versatile as they appear to be.
Functional Items
Aside from the objects that allow sims to work on their new Tattooing and Pottery Skills something I find very interesting about the functional items in the upcoming Expansion Pack is that we’re getting a new complete set of musical instruments. Players have been asking for the ability to form bands for years, so perhaps it’s finally happening? I couldn’t see any hints hidden in the teaser (although “Listen to Music” is one of the available business activities) so it’s just as likely that they’ll merely be part of the Hobby Meetup Event mechanic. It’s fun to speculate either way!
Public/Community Objects
Whether your sims are interacting with customers at a standalone business or an in-home entrepreneurship, they can make their space inviting with signage and refreshments.
Windows, Doors, Fences, & Misc
Windows and doors come in a mix of modern and classic silhouettes that will blend well with pieces from other DLCs.
Walls & Floors
With thumbnails this small it’s a little difficult discerning between wall, floor, and foundation patterns but we at least have an idea what the overall aesthetic is going to me.

Final Thoughts
