The latest greatest Occult type is coming to the game soon! Here’s a first look at Sims 4 Fairies.

With the official reveal trailer recently being published it’s now been confirmed that a highly-requested Occult is coming to the game. The Enchanted By Nature Expansion Pack, releasing on the 10th of July, includes new fluttering friends for more magical game play. Here’s a first look at The Sims 4 Fairies!
A History Of The Fae

While there were costumed NPCs in early games that mimicked the look, actual fairies were first introduced in The Sims 3: Supernatural. These creatures had typical sim Needs but earned an Energized buff from the evening moonlight, lived 5x as long as regular sims, and gained more power for their abilities from flower pollen and magic elixirs. Most of the powers these beings could unlock focused on practical jokes and pranking although they had the ability to radiate different auras that affect the feelings and Skill gains of those around them.
The Sims 4 Fairies
While we’re still awaiting the full trailer, a lot of information has been released already about the much-anticipated Occult.
Making A Fairy
Like their predecessors, Sims 4 Fairies can be created fresh in Create-A-Sim or by turning a normal sim into one. To transform a preexisting sim, they must seek out the guidance of Mother Nature, a new NPC who will send them to the Enchanted Springs to start their journey.

Fairies are capable of pregnancy, so it’s possible a sim can be born as a Fairy too.
Fairy Appearance

As with other Occults, Sims 4 Fairies get two forms: their Occult form and a “normal” disguise. Fairies have a variety of wing styles, colorful skin tones, and pointed ears to choose from. They can be given more unique looks with paintable details, glowing tattoos, head accessories, pointed teeth, and fashion straight out of Fern Gully.
Fairy Paths & Abilities

A Fairy can choose one of two paths to follow and unlock their full potential. Harmonious Fairies focus on helping things grow and thrive, maintaining balance with nature. Discordant Fairies on the other hand prefer the path of Mischief, causing (relatively) harmless mayhem with pranks and tricks.
Some upcoming Fairy abilities include the power to create Seeds, enchanting Plants to grow better, curing or causing Ailments, bottling emotions, and changing another sim’s Luck. They can also shrink in size to use the Fairy Home and charm others to participate in an exclusive new Woohoo style.
Which path your sim chooses will influence the Fairy abilities they can unlock. They will need to harvest Emotional Energy to use these abilities which can be siphoned from other sims or consumed via Emotion Potion. If a fairy cannot maintain their Emotional Energy they can die from Emotional Starvation!
Fairy Dust

Fairy Dust can be utilized by Fairies and regular sims alike. It can be used to enchant plants to make them produce a larger yield, although it may also attract mischievous Pixies that will need to be dealt with. The same can be done to crafted items made with the new Nature Press object. Need a few extra hands? Fairy Dust brings Gnomes to life to help around the house, too!
Fairies will create their own Dust which can be asked for by other sims, and it can also be foraged around the new world of Innisgreen.
Closing Thoughts
That’s everything we know so far about Sims 4 Fairies! The full game play trailer is out in less than two weeks and we have no doubt that it will dive much deeper into Fairies to stir up even more excitement among players. If more information leaks between now and then, we’ll be sure to update this post! Otherwise, check back with us after the 26th of June where we’ll break down the new trailer and gather more details. See you there!
