In addition to preparing for the next DLC, the July 2025 Base Game update has some pretty exciting changes!

July 2025 is here and in just over a week we’ll be getting the next Expansion Pack. As per usual, The Sims 4 has been updated in advance of the launch date to get everything ready for Enchanted By Nature’s release. In addition to a myriad of bug fixes we’ve shared here, there are some new features and items that have been released to all players. Here’s a look!
July 2025 New Items
Whether CAS, Buy/Build, or just the UI, you’re going to like these changes.
Create-a-Sim

There are several new features in CAS that simmers will definitely get use out of! Starting with genetics, Occult eyes (like those you’d see on Vampires, Mermaids, Aliens, and Werewolves) have been made available to “normal” sims. Now you can make any sim look ethereal regardless of their Occult status—regular sims might want to look unique too! Add even more jazz to your sims’ eyes with 18 new swatches for both Base Game lashes, with some really fun colorways!

CC creators who like making headbands, barrettes, horns, tendrils, and more are going to be excited by the new Head Decorations subset of Headwear. CAS content for Enchanted By Nature shows a number of wreaths, wraps, headbands, and horns that will no doubt be found in this new category, but all simmers can enjoy a new bow head decoration that can go over any hairstyle! Unfortunately that doesn’t mean that it will look good with any hairstyle, and it’s only available for Teens and older. Hopefully this changes in the future as such a decoration would look adorable on Infants! It would also be cool to see older hairstyles updated with accessories split into this new section for more customization.

The final addition to CAS is a new Accessory category in body view, called Skin Effects. To kick things off, an adjustable body shine effect has been made available to simmers. You can change its Glossiness and I personally think this is a great addition for sims who should have a plastic-like appearance, such as a doll or robot.
Buy/Build Mode

Builders, gardeners, and more will be excited to learn that we finally have Glass Walls! Found in the Misc. section for §2 per panel, these wall patterns are designed to match the glass Roof Patterns we got way back when Seasons came out. You can now have angled roofs on your greenhouses without unsightly wall supports, and get really creative to make things like infinity swimming pools!

If you’re a Hobbit-type you can now make your homes even more hobbity by adding plants to roofs! Flowers, bushes, and more can be placed on angled or slightly curved roofs and will tilt to match their angle, even if you rotate them. It seems you cannot use MoveObjects to affect their placement, at least for now, but they’re still a really cool addition and can totally change the vibes of a build.
User Interface

Lastly, there have been some slight changes to The Sims 4’s UI that keep things cleaner and more organized. Household Collections are now categorized in an easier-to-read way and you can sort collectibles by a number of factors, such as most recently collected, rarity, or still missing/unfound.

The final UI change involves your sims’ Notebook, which is found to the left of the cell phone under their portrait. Admittedly I don’t know of many players who use the Notebook, but those who do will like the more realistic, homey feel of the new design.
Closing Thoughts
Even if you don’t plan on adding Enchanted By Nature to your DLC library, we have no doubt that you will make use of these great July 2025 Base Game updates. We can’t wait to see new sims and builds on the Gallery with these features!
