A columbarium is a vault type structure for storing cremains. They can be found in many areas and have been built into churches, caves, as freestanding structures, etc. You may have seen an example at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery if you’ve ever looked up a favorite actor who has passed away. The niche is the “headstone” for a person interred in a columbarium, which looks like a plaque mounted to their space.

This really cool mod has a base game version that will work for everyone and a Life & Death-exclusive version that allows you to add a sim’s photo to the niche (like you would on a memorial display) along with additional mourning options. Creator hamsterbelle even went so far as to make 2 versions of each, one that stays up all the time and the other that drops when walls are cut away.

This mod adds a whole new option for furnishing your cemetery spaces as well as the ability to cater them based on the world you’re in (for example Willow Creek is inspired by the American state of Louisiana where most burial vaults are above-ground due to ever-present flooding issues). It just a nice, simple piece of CC that slots in with the vanilla gameplay objects perfectly.
