The Mystical Magic Beans came with the Sims 4 expansion pack “Seasons”. And, has since established its very own fan base. Simmers who love gardening, especially love the magical beans, as becoming a PlantSim provides many benefits to gardening!
You may have seen a few videos of Simmers playing with PlantSims recently. This is because Sims 4 made a scenario called “Plant a Sim”, where your Sim has to become their best PlantSim before the limited time of the fruit runs out… Simmer and YouTuber Deligracy made a series of this scenario, which you can check out here.
Anyway, this post will work as a guide on how to grow magic beans, and become a PlantSim! We hope we can answer all of your questions and guide you through the process. Now, let’s start!
1. How Get The Sims 4 Magical Beans
To start, your Sim has to reach gardening level 10 which might take a while. Luckily though, there is a cheat to reach level 10, which we will explain in the last part of this post.
Furthermore, you have to purchase the “Rare Plant Seeds”. Do this by clicking on a gardening pot, using a computer, or buying them from the shops. Then, you will have to collect all 6 different types of magic beans:
1: Red: Angry Magic Bean, 2: Purple: Playful Magic Bean, 3: Navy: Sad Magic Bean, 4: Orange: Uncomfortable Magic Bean, 5: Pink: Flirty Magic Bean, 6: Blue: Confident Magic Bean.
2. How to Use the Sims 4 Magic Beans
Once your Sim has collected all 6 beans, they will have to plant them in the Magic Stump and water it! After a few seconds, the Magic Stump will grow into a Magic Tree. Then, you will have to click on the tree, to have your Sim “Explore The Mystical Magic Bean Portal”.

3. What The Sims 4 Magical Beans do
Once your Sim has been exploring the open portal for a while, a notification will pop up. This will let you know that your Sim has discovered the “Forbidden Fruit of the PlantSim”, which they will have to eat, to transform themselves into a PlantSim. To do that, find the fruit in your Sims inventory, and click on “Eat Forbidden PlantSim Fruit”.

After this action, your Sim will be lifted into the air, surrounded by green fog, and lastly transformed into a PlantSim.
4. The Ins And Outs of Being a PlantSim
And BOOM, you are a PlantSim! You now can build your social skills by chatting with plants. Furthermore, you can fill your hunger motive by absorbing solar energy from plants. The PlantSim hunger is replaced by the normal hunger, and can only be filled by sunlight or using your PlantSim abilities.
Lastly, do not worry, because you will only be a PlantSim for 5 days in-game before you return to your normal Sim self!
5. The Sims 4 Magic Bean And PlantSim Cheats
If you do not wanna go through all the steps to become a PlantSim, using a few cheats might be the way to go. Therefore, we have compiled a list of all the cheats we think you might need, to become a PlantSim in the Sims 4! To open the cheats bar, press CTRL + SHIFT + C, and then enter “testingcheats on”.
1: Level 10 in Gardening: stats.set_skill_level Major_Gardening 10
2: Instant Plant Sim Transformation: hold in SHIFT, and click on your Sim to “Make Into PlantSim”.
OR: bb.showhiddenobjects, and search for the “Forbidden Fruit of the PlantSim”, and eat it to transform into one.
