Whether your sim is always tardy or they easily lose track of time, CC clocks are a helpful way to keep them on task and make their homes even cozier.
Happy new year, simmers! 2024 is drawing to a close and soon we’ll be counting down to the start of 2025. If you have the Seasons expansion you’ve probably celebrated with your sims time and time again, approaching every season change with enthusiasm for what’s to come.
As we count down the seconds to the year’s end let’s give our sims more options to do the same in their world. While most of us have a clock within reach 24/7 thanks to mobile phones, there’s something about having a physical timepiece you can look at that gives a sense of comfort and grounding you don’t get from a backlit screen. For many of us it reminds us of older relatives and their homes from a time before cell phones, and makes us feel cozy.
Our Favorite CC Clocks
Since clocks don’t work in The Sims 4 the way they have in previous games, not every CC clock keeps time. Some are purely decorative while others have independent animations, and some even use mods to keep accurate time! We’ve got a little bit of everything with this list so you can find the timepiece that’s right for you and your sims.
Working Alarm Clocks
This mod adds alarm clock tuning to a handful of Sims 2 clock conversions. Originally written by Scumbumbo, it’s being maintained by LittleMsSam since his passing.
These decorative clocks originally from The Sims 2 will hit you with a dose of nostalgia! There are three wall clocks and three tabletop alarm clocks in a variety of styles.
This fantastic alarm clock mod allows you to put your sims on a schedule! You can set your sim to wake up before work, at the same time every day, or even sunrise.
This mod also works with the clocks converted as part of Scumbumbo’s Alarm Clocks mod.
Decorative, Animated, or Functional? Decorative; Animated with additional Mods
Did you know that the Kit Cat Klock is almost 100 years old? Invented in 1932, this iconic wall clock is made up of a friendly cat holding a clock face, its eyes and tail swaying as the seconds pass. If you download Mathcope’s mesh (linked in the post) the cat’s friendly face and tail swish along like they would IRL.
Andrew has updated the tuning of the Grandfather Clock from TS4’s base game to add a swinging pendulum animation to the piece. The clock’s hands still don’t move, but the pendulum is enough to add some nice background animation and make the clock feel a bit more dynamic.
A modern little clock with a neat design choice in its lopsided bottom. Without numbers on the face, it’s anybody’s guess what time the clock is showing!
If your sims prefer the grandeur of a grandfather clock, this model sports old-fashioned carved details with a slightly more modern silhouette, making it a timeless item to have in their homes.
If you’re a fan of the animated film “101 Dalmatians” you may recognize this piece, as it’s modeled after the clock in Roger’s flat where he places his hat. That little detail makes the clock handy for storytelling purposes, too!
The simplicity of this clock makes it incredibly versatile. The white swatch is stylish and understated while the brightly colored swatches are almost neon in their appearance.
A large disjointed 3D piece consisting of numbers and a freestanding pair of clock hands. This grand modern piece will definitely add style to any room it hangs in.
If your sims feel like they never have enough time, a few CC clocks will give them more time than they can count! Whether you want something purely decorative, something with a bit of immersive animation, or a full-on time keeping system, there are clocks and related mods for you.
Do you miss the functionality of clocks from previous The Sims games? Will these CC clocks get a lot of use for you? Let us know in the comments below, and have a happy new year!
