New Year’s Eve Party In The Sims 4
The Sims 4: Seasons introduced a wealth of holidays to our game by launching the calendar system, and probably one of the best holidays in the roster is New Year’s Eve. This festive event is celebrated each time a single Sim year ends, and our Sims can participate in a bunch of activities to welcome the upcoming year ahead. If you’re wondering how you can make this holiday an amazing experience for your Sims, then check out our tips below.
How To Throw A New Year’s Eve Party
The New Year’s Eve holiday regularly commences on the last day of the year, as you can notice when you click on your Sims’ calendars. You could wait until that day arrives to throw your Sims a nice New Year’s bash. However, your Sims can also choose to celebrate this event any day you want them to.
To create a spontaneous New Year’s party for your Sims, simply click on a designated day, and select “Add Holiday” on the left panel of the calendar. Choose New Year’s Eve. Once you’ve done this, a holiday page will pop up, which will allow you to modify the following things for your New Year’s party:
- Holiday Name – You can create a unique party name for the celebration, such as “New Year’s Bonanza” or “NYE Bash”.
- Decoration Theme – Select New Year’s Eve as your decoration theme.
- Traditions – There are plenty of traditions available. We recommend that you choose five traditions that are all New Year-related.
- School and Work Day Off – Tick this box to let your Sims have a day off from work and school for the holiday.

Activities For Your Sims’ New Year’s Eve Party
As you throw a grand New Year’s celebration, there are plenty of ways to make the most of the special occasion. Below, we gathered some of our suggestions for throwing a successful New Year’s Eve party in the game!
1. Dress For the Event
Of course, to prepare for a great New Year’s party, you have to dress up your Sims in their best party outfits which will help them get in the right mood to celebrate the new year! It’s up to you to pick their most fashionable OOTD (or should we say OOTN).
2. Prepare a Grand Meal
Get one of your Sims to cook any of the grand meal recipes available in the game, and prepare this delicious dish before the rest of the day gets busy. They can also whip up a batch of decadent desserts or two on the side.
3. Invite Sims Over
To make the night a lot more cheerful, send out some invitations to your Sims’ friends and family and invite them over for a New Year’s party. The more Sims they invite, the more festive the atmosphere will be! To do this, click on your Sim’s phone, go to the Social menu, and select “Plan a social event”. Then, select the “dinner party” and choose your favorite Sims!
4. Eat Dinner Together
Once everyone has arrived, and the grand meal is ready, let one of your Sims call everyone to the said meal. Let them enjoy the delicious meal together, which will also be a great opportunity for them to catch up and share their thoughts about the New Year. Plus a pro tip: before eating, let Sims set up the table with party or fancy settings for that extra festive vibe!
5. Sing The Simlish Version of “Auld Lang Syne”
After dinner, everyone can sing the Simslish version of “Auld Lang Syne”, which is known as “Foodage Lang Syne”. This singing thing is one of the most adorable New Year’s activities in the game! It can bring Sims together and make the new year feel extra special!
6. Have a Dancing Craze
If there’s a stereo around, blast up the music and let your Sims dance! The New Year is a great reason to let them loose on the dance floor! This is also a nice way to pass some time as they wait for the clock to strike 12. Also, it would be funny if you let them all try the “Cowpoke Dance” at the same time.
7. Participate in New Year’s Activities
There are plenty of other New Year’s activities that you can do with your Sims. These festive activities will help them to celebrate the new year in a fun and memorable way. You can let them choose the following interactions for themselves or with other Sims:
- Blow horns
- Share New Year spirit
- Sing about the New Year
- Throw confetti
- New Year’s Toast
8. Make Resolutions For the New Year
One of the most wonderful traditions for a New Year’s Party in The Sims 4 is creating resolutions for your Sims. It’s a great time for them to reflect on themselves and make some goals for the coming days, by setting up some new wishes and starting the new year with a fresh perspective!
9. Countdown To Midnight
As the clock strikes midnight, go and click on the TV and select “countdown to midnight”. Then, gather around your Sims and let them watch the countdown to the new year! You will notice how they’ll all have an exciting disposition as they watch the show. At exactly midnight, fireworks will burst out from the TV and your Sims will celebrate.
