If you’re a fan of Shrimpmas it’s time to get excited—it’s back! And if you have no idea what Shrimpmas is, prepare to get into the claw-liday spirit!

If you’re a fan of CC virtuoso Surely-Sims then you know what Shrimpmas is. For those who don’t: Shrimpmas is a yearly holiday CC fest by Surely that started in 2022, which focuses on kooky, kitschy, random custom content that may or may not be themed after the holidays and/or shrimp. It all started when Surely-Sims was asked by a friend to make a Christmas tree covered in shrimp and from there evolved into a full-fledged advent-style CC drop.

Shrimpmas has brought simmers a whole range of goodies from shrimpy decor to beautiful mid-century furniture to unique lighting to kid’s toys and so much more. Check out past years’ goodies from 2022 and 2023 to see what we mean!

Holy Fish, It’s A Shrimpmas Takeover!🦐

2024 Shrimpmas is going to be a tiny bit different; Surely-Sims isn’t able to pull together a full event this year, but she’s got a “helper.” Jeff the grumpy shrimp mousse originally came to life as part of the Perfect Party Stuff CC pack and it turns out that he’s not a huge fan of Christmas. He left a cryptic note for Surely-Sims a week ago:

My Dear Shromp ,

I hear you are tired, and I know just what I’ll do.
How about I host Shrimpmas?! Aww a Shrimpmas Special, just for you.

Yes, you’ve worked so hard, and for now you must rest your head.
As I have already asked my friends to help me,
That means this year, we will do it my way instead.
Starting on the 13^th of December, and 12 days from there
We will release a single CC a day made with love and care.

But do not forget, as I am a mousse of spite.
That you will not know which shrimp should arrive each night.
And this is your only warning, should Shrimpmas you reconsider,
That this year it is Jeffmas season! And we’ve worked hard to deliver.

So we hope each day you come to aspire
To look forward to each gift made by someone you’ve inspired.
So if you’ll excuse me, my colleagues and I have much to discuss,

What does this mean, exactly? Well, there are a few possibilities.

Shrimpmas Gets A Dreary Recolor

The first possibility here is that prior years’ gifts will get recolors in a more grimy tone. Surely-Sims has done this previously with the House Of Yesterday set which was a collection of creepy decrepit recolors for #Simblreen, and with how messy Jeff leaves things it would make sense. This would be easier and take far less time to do than to create new objects from scratch.

Crustacean Creations Made By Others

As the end of Jeff’s note says, each gift is “made by someone you’ve inspired.” Surely-Sims has quite an eccentric fanbase and she loves seeing others use her CC so it’s not outside the realm of possibility that other creators she’s friends with (such as ice-creamforbreakfast who originally came up with the shrimp tree idea) would come together to make their own shrimp-inspired goodies to share this year instead. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
