The Mermaid Cheat for The Sims 4
Enabling Cheats
Enabling cheats should be the first thing you take care of when deciding to use cheats in The Sims 4. This might be a bit tricky for people who have never tried, but trust us, it is very easy. Just follow these instructional steps and you’ll be successful!
- Step 1: Open the command console through the combination of the SHIFT + CTRL + C buttons on your keyboard.
- Step 2: Insert “testingcheats true” in the dialogue bar.
- Step 3: Hit Enter.
Note that if you’re using an Apple device, the CMD button should be in place of SHIFT. And if you’re a console user, then the four triggers on the back of your controller will have the same effect.

Mermaid Cheats
After you’ve enabled cheats in your game, you can proceed by adding the mermaid cheats. These are just a few simple cheats that you can use regularly. We’ve tested them many times in the past and they’ve proved to work perfectly 100% of the time. Here they are!
- traits.equip_trait trait_OccultMermaid – Changes your Sim into a Mermaid/Merman.
- traits.remove_trait trait_OccultMermaid – Changes your Mermaid/Merman Sim back to a normal Sim.
- traits.equip_trait trait_OccultMermaid_MermaidForm – Grants you the mermaid tail on land.
- traits.remove_trait trait_OccultMermaid_TYAE – Changes your Hydration need back to Hygiene when you change back to a normal Sim from Mermaid/Merman.
While we’re on this note, another thing that you can do with a cheat in The Sims 4 is to purchase the Mermadic Kelp from the buy mode. To do this, you’ll need to enable cheats with “testingcheats true” as we explained previously. Then, you’ll need to use bb.ShowHiddenObjects cheat. This one will unlock all hidden items and will let you buy them and own them.
