Everyday Tech-Type Mods For A Better Sim-Life
While you might think of things like science and medicine when it comes to new tech, for the purposes of The Sims 4 we’re going to focus on the kind of technology that sims deal with on a regular basis. This means mostly objects that are typically found in the Electronics or Activities & Skills categories of Build/Buy mode. We’ve gathered a list of 10+ tech-type mods that should make the gadget fans of the player community beep with joy!
Lin-Z, Play My Favorite Songs
If you’re the type of player that takes the time to choose their sims’ Likes and Dislikes this mod is going to be a game-changer! Now you can click on the Lin-Z smart speaker and ask it to play your sim’s favorite songs, prompting it to choose a song genre from your sim’s Likes at random and start playing that station. No more looking to your Simology panel every time because you can’t remember what they like listening to, no more scrolling through pages and pages of menus to get to a specific musical genre, now Lin-Z will know what your sim likes without any extra effort!
Click here to download!Play Void Critters For All
We love seeing our young sims play a rousing Voidcritter Battle together, but don’t love that they can’t do the same with their Teen siblings, parents, and other adult relatives. EA really dropped the ball with that one but thankfully this mod fixes it, allowing all sims aged Child and up to enjoy the card game.
Click here to download!Functional Landline Wall Phone
We’ve featured functional wall phones before but this one comes with a twist. Besides random chats or chats with specific sims, your characters can also hire repair services, order ridiculously overpriced pizza delivery, or even make prank calls where they’ll far into the phone receiver!
There are options for autonomous and non-autonomous versions so you can stop your sims from tooting up the neighborhood if they get out of hand.
Click here to download!Gadget Geek Trait
If your sim is the type that always has the latest phone, smartest TV, and newest tech, the Gadget Geek Trait will suit them nicely. This Trait will prompt sims to chat about technology to anyone who’ll listen, and keeps tech-focused Whims in their regular rotation.
Having a Servo around can be very convenient, as they have fewer needs and are therefor less demanding of your attention than their organic counterparts. However like any sim they require energy to continue performing, which can be unappealing if you need them going for long periods of time. With the Servo Auto-Charger mod you can now purchase a broadcaster from the Electronics section of Buy mode which will wirelessly charge all Servos within its range, allowing them to function for much longer without needing a recharge.
Just as Occult sims can pass down bloodlines through the generations, Servos can now do the same. This mod will not allow Servos to become pregnant, but if it happens by way of game quirks or other cheats, this will keep their…biological?…history intact, with greater benefits for stronger bloodlines.
Weak Servo Bloodline:
- Charge increases 10% faster
- Charge decreases 10% slower
- Robotics skill gained 10% faster
- Durability decays 10% slower
Strong Servo Bloodline:
- Charge increases 20% faster
- Charge decreases 20% slower
- Robotics skill gained 20% faster
- Durability decays 20% slower
Ancient Servo Bloodline:
- Charge increases 30% faster
- Charge decreases 30% slower
- Robotics skill gained 30% faster
- Durability decays 50% slower
Servos Have Souls!
In the words of the robotic band Steam Powered Giraffe, “Electricity is in my soul!” If you think of Servos as more than just mechanical mannequins, this mod will let them live on after their warranty expires. They will have both Ghost and Servo abilities and sport an ethereal transparency, but their face display will still work as it did when they were functional.
Click here to download!Infinite Streaming Drone Battery
Never again will your sims have to stop streaming mid-recording due to a dead drone battery. With this mod they’ll stay juiced up forever, no charging or upgrades needed.
Click here to download!Skilled PC Mod
Why is it that you or I can look up almost any subject online and learn more information about it but our sims can’t? This mod fixes that. Sims will now have the option to visit a site called Study.com and study any subject they want, autonomously learning for longer than they do with books. Time to build those skills!
The Hacker Trait gives your sim Buffs for hacking different companies, messing with work or school performance, making viruses, and more. There are two social interactions and several Whims as part of it, but the best aspect of having the trait is that sims will learn the Programming Skill 50% faster!
Click here to download!Hacker Life Mod
With this mod your sim can become the ultimate hacker! Increase the new Hacking Skill and target everyone from single sims to huge corporations, participate in competitions and workshops, gather information on the Dark Web, but beware of traps set by tech-savvy IT pros! Unlock over 80 new interactions all about hacking and become an overnight millionaire with this mod.

Final Thoughts
If you’ve got sims who live for technology and love making it part of their lives, a few tech-type mods will make things even better. Shore up your Servos into more useful and impactful beings, make smart speakers and drones work better for your sims, or become a full-on hacker and get rish at the expense of poor cyber-security. It’s all there at the tip of your fingers, waiting to be downloaded into your game. What’s your favorite piece of tech in The Sims 4? Let us know in the comments! Enjoy the mods, and happy simming!
