Everyday Tech-Type Mods For A Better Sim-Life
While you might think of things like science and medicine when it comes to new tech, for the purposes of The Sims 4 we’re going to focus on the kind of technology that sims deal with on a regular basis. This means mostly objects that are typically found in the Electronics or Activities & Skills categories of Build/Buy mode. We’ve gathered a list of 10+ tech-type mods that should make the gadget fans of the player community beep with joy!
Lin-Z, Play My Favorite Songs
If you’re the type of player that takes the time to choose their sims’ Likes and Dislikes this mod is going to be a game-changer! Now you can click on the Lin-Z smart speaker and ask it to play your sim’s favorite songs, prompting it to choose a song genre from your sim’s Likes at random and start playing that station. No more looking to your Simology panel every time because you can’t remember what they like listening to, no more scrolling through pages and pages of menus to get to a specific musical genre, now Lin-Z will know what your sim likes without any extra effort!

We love seeing our young sims play a rousing Voidcritter Battle together, but don’t love that they can’t do the same with their Teen siblings, parents, and other adult relatives. We’ve featured functional wall phones before but this one comes with a twist. Besides random chats or chats with specific sims, your characters can also hire repair services, order ridiculously overpriced pizza delivery, or even make prank calls where they’ll far into the phone receiver!
There are options for autonomous and non-autonomous versions so you can stop your sims from tooting up the neighborhood if they get out of hand.

If your sim is the type that always has the latest phone, smartest TV, and newest tech, the Gadget Geek Trait will suit them nicely. This Trait will prompt sims to chat about technology to anyone who’ll listen, and keeps tech-focused Whims in their regular rotation.

Having a Servo around can be very convenient, as they have fewer needs and are therefor less demanding of your attention than their organic counterparts. However like any sim they require energy to continue performing, which can be unappealing if you need them going for long periods of time. With the Servo Auto-Charger mod you can now purchase a broadcaster from the Electronics section of Buy mode which will wirelessly charge all Servos within its range, allowing them to function for much longer without needing a recharge.

Just as Occult sims can pass down bloodlines through the generations, Servos can now do the same. This mod will not allow Servos to become pregnant, but if it happens by way of game quirks or other cheats, this will keep their…biological?…history intact, with greater benefits for stronger bloodlines.

- Charge increases 10% faster
- Charge decreases 10% slower
- Robotics skill gained 10% faster
- Durability decays 10% slower
Strong Servo Bloodline:
- Charge increases 20% faster

Servos Have Souls!
In the words of the robotic band Steam Powered Giraffe, “Electricity is in my soul!” If you think of Servos as more than just mechanical mannequins, this mod will let them live on after their warranty expires. They will have both Ghost and Servo abilities and sport an ethereal transparency, but their face display will still work as it did when they were functional.
