What’s new in the December Sims 4 update? Freebees for all, fixes, and some cozy celebrations!
This week we received what’s likely to be the last update to The Sims 4 for 2024. There were a few bug fixes, a Sims Delivery Express Package, and a new Event to pull us through to the new year. Here are the details!
Update 1.111.102.1030 (PC) | 1.111.102.1230 (Mac) | 2.04 (Consoles)
Fixes, cultural garb, and holiday cheer all make their way to The Sims 4 with this update.
Bug Fixes
There are a surprisingly small number of fixes that came out with this update although a few of the base game patches were done to prevent game crashing. In addition to crash fixes there are some new details/updates that everyone can appreciate:
- Discovery Quests are now officially called Live Events
- Stairs From Snowy Escape, Jungle Adventure, and Journey to Batuu now default to having supporting walls instead of being freestanding
- Basic stud and hoop earrings are now showing in more outfit categories in CAS
- Some clothing items have been reevaluated and are now considered acceptable as Cold Weather attire
- (Dine Out) Sims will follow through with the “Request Table” action instead of dropping it from their queue
- (Life & Death) Nyon Specter properly received the Grimborn Trait in new saves
- (Life & Death) Mermaids are correctly positioned in CAS so their head isn’t cut off at the top of the screen
Sims Express Delivery (SDX)
Following along with the cultural vibes set forth with the Life & Death Expansion Pack, the latest Sims Express Delivery focuses on cozy details with an Eastern European collection of Romanian-inspired items.
Fill your sims’ bellies with the polenta dish Mămăligă before ending your day with a warm drink from the new Cozy Hot Cocoa Tray and some sweet Mucenici, a honey and walnut pastry. Mucenici is typically only made for the March celebration of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, which ushers in the beginning of a new agricultural year for Romanian and Moldovan peoples. Add a touch of winter whimsy to the space with the Comfy Blankets Quilt Stand, ensuring your guests and loved ones that there’s always an extra source of warmth nearby.
For clothing, a full body Cold Weather outfit with turtleneck and long coat is available tor Teen+ sims, and everybody gets access to more casual but beautifully patterned tops and dresses, plus femme framed sims now have another headscarf to wear.
The Cozy Celebrations Event
A new Event has started, the Cozy Celebrations Event, which runs through 10 January 2025. This time around we’re focusing on festive traditions and learning about holiday celebrations in different parts of Simlandia with the help of sim Jasmine Holiday.
To kick off the quest your sim will need to speak to others and learn about their holiday traditions. Additionally they’ll need to take a moment of quiet reflection and stretch their culinary chops by preparing the Korean dish Japache. Other challenges will include things like Singing Holiday Songs, dancing, making hot cocoa, and other festive activities.
Event Rewards
All in all there are 13 new items to be released upon completing the Event challenges, and you can unlock 2 prize tiers per week.
- Quest 1 awards the Cozy Festive Wreath (1 swatch) and Festive Hedge Collection (4-8 swatches)
- Quest 2 grants the Slick Panel Jacket (8 swatches) and Festive Feeling Welcome Mat (8 swatches)
- Quest 3 brings us the Cozy Floral Wreath (1 swatch) and Festive Frame TV (24 swatches)

Can’t Wait To Unwrap Your Gifts?
If you’re the kind of simmer who tries to peek into their holiday gifts early or just has a very busy season coming up, you might not have time to play through the Cozy Celebrations Event. Modder LunarBritney has got your back, and released a prize unlocker* on the day the Cozy Celebrations Event started.
