Add more gorgeous African-inspired pieces to your sims’ wardrobes with part 1 of The Naija Collection.

The Naija Collection

Here at SNOOTY we’re no stranger to sharing content that we feel helps create more representation in The Sims 4 and today we want to share with you a stunning new clothing set, The Naija Collection, inspired by Nigerian fashions. This beautiful set is the result of a collaboration between OBiGEM, a content creator primarily known for her Let’s Plays, and Ice-creamforbreakfast, a CC clothing creator who mainly focuses on vintage silhouettes and styles.

The two collaborated on this collection in an attempt to bring more African representation to the game, and with this set you will get 5 new pieces of absolutely gorgeous clothing/accessories for femme-framed sims aged Teen and older. These two creators are hoping to expand the collection later this year with plans for a masc-framed set and a set specifically for jewelry. Let’s take a look at this stunning new collection!

The Naija Collection (Part 1)

Part 1 of the Naija Collection comes with 3 new full-body outfits, a gele (traditional head tie), and a statement necklace.

Clothing

The Nkechi Dress is a stunning one-shoulder frock with a long flowing mermaid skirt. Available in 60 swatches, this piece sports a variety of solid colors along with several Nigerian-inspired patterns including multiple floral designs. The puffed sleeve brings balance to the asymmetry of the outfit, and adds a touch of extra elegance to already dramatic dress.

marapreview

The Mara Dress is a beautiful off-shoulder dress with lace detail sleeves and a peplum accent at the waist. It comes in 60 solid colors, allowing you to choose the perfect shade for your wedding, gala, or other event. My favorite detail about this piece is the lace accents where the sleeves meet the bodice; the pieces are cut-outs that hang off the dress instead of a texture just drawn onto the mesh. It’s things like these that show you how much care and detail was put into this outfit.

If your sim isn’t the type to enjoy a dress they’ll love the Sade Jumpsuit. It comes in 50 solid colors with an additional one-dozen swatches that offer complementary patterning on the leg cuffs and sash. The sweetheart neckline leaves plenty of room to don beautiful statement jewelry and really pull the outfit together.

Accessories

The Ifeoma Gele is sure elevate any outfit! A gele is a traditional head tie worn by Yoruba women, which are a group of peoples living within Nigeria, Benin, and Togo (collectively referred to as Yorubaland). These pieces can be made of multiple types of materials and come in a variety of shapes and silhouettes. Ifeoma Gele comes in 60 swatches that coordinate with the Mara Dress, but will match with other pieces of the collection.

The Ebele Necklace is a statement piece of two neck chains with an ornate ovoid charm. It’s available in 6 neutral swatches that make it a great accent for a variety of outfits.
