The first drop of the Autumn 2024 roadmap is here. Let’s dig into all the goodies from the new Kits!
Today is the launch of the first pieces of Autumn 2024 DLC for The Sims 4: new Kits. This time around we’re getting 2 Buy/Build-focused Kits focused on artistic sims and spoiled Infants. While these Kits seemingly have nothing to with one another, they each connect to the theme of “To Be Continued…” in their own way.
New Kit – Artist’s Studio
The Artist Studio Kit has 24 new items with a focus on sims growing their Creativity skills. Included are a new Easel, Woodworking Table, and Drawing Tablet, along with lots of decor items for adding atmosphere and giving sims new references to practice their painting. There’s also a wood paneling wallpaper.
While Death—an overarching concept for this season’s roadmap—isn’t a prominent player here we can see it manifesting in smaller ways throughout the included pieces. Some of the decorative artwork has pictures of Grim, a skeletal Freezer Bunny, what looks like a mourning Bella Goth, and other somewhat dark imagery such as faces and hands in poses of anguish.
New Kit – Storybook Nursery
In collaboration with CC creator SIXAM CC, the Storybook Nursery Kit comes with 23 new pieces. There are multiple functional toys and a toybox, new bed options for Newborns, Infants, and Toddlers, a changing station, bookcase, plenty of cute nursery clutter, and some interesting lore-adjacent wallpaper*. In this case “To Be Continued…” is more tied to the idea of stories and their endings, and not so much about Infant mortality.
*For those who don’t know, in the canon timeline Bella Goth is abducted by aliens.
The new Kit is giving a range of swatches to fit any aesthetic, from a pretty princess’ dream nursery to a gothic baby dwelling fit for the Addams (or Goth) Family. Speaking of the Goths, that “Ophelia Villa” dollhouse has a very familiar blueprint…
