If you’re wondering about those upgrade parts in The Sims 4, here is a guide explaining everything you need to know about them, where to find them, and how to use them in the game!
Let Sims 4 upgrade you
In Sims 4, upgrade parts indeed have a purpose because when you select most objects in your home, you’ll see that you have the ability to improve them!
For example, select your Sim’s fridge and then look for the Upgrade prompt. Notice that you have several options to add some cool functional upgrades to your refrigerator to improve its quality and durability.
However, you probably can’t use any of those prompts yet because you need various parts and you probably need to increase your Handiness skill level.
I suggest that you get your Sim’s Handiness level to at least 7 or 8 to be able to make most of the upgrades!
Let’s get into where you can find these parts.
Sims4 Upgrade parts and how to get them
Existing types of upgrade part options in the Sims 4:
- Eco upgrade parts (courtesy of the Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack)
- Electronic upgrade parts
- Common upgrade parts
- Plumbing upgrade parts
- Kitchen upgrade parts
The quickest way to obtain these parts is by ordering them from any available computer.
Bring your Sim to the nearest computer, select the Order prompt, choose the Purchase Upgrade Parts, and then browse the menu to purchase.
They will immediately be delivered into your inventory and then you’re ready to start upgrading some of your furniture and household items!
If your Sim is developing their handiness skill they can also search for new parts as they fix things around them. Once they repair objects, you can select the pile left over from the repair and then choose the Scavenge for Parts prompt.
What you can upgrade in Sims 4
You can now do a lot of handiwork with the parts you’ve collected and that is no exaggeration!
The developers have given players so many opportunities to tinker with and manipulate everyday objects around them so there is going to be a lot to cover.
We will break it down so that you have as much information as possible because you’re going to do a lot of collecting!
Here is a list of objects and furniture that can be upgraded and the parts that each upgrade requires.
