Creator Kits Preview: Everything Coming in The Cozy Kitsch & Sweet Slumber Party Kits

The Sims team keeps chugging along their Autumn 2024 roadmap, having released the Life & Death Expansion Pack a week ago and preparing to launch more Kit content a week from now. If you’re undecided on whether to pick up a new Kit and want to see more of what’s coming, this Creator Kits preview can hopefully help you decide.

Creator Kits Preview – Cozy Kitsch Kit By Myshunosun

For those unfamiliar with the term, “kitsch” or to be “kitschy” refers to when something is tacky, gaudy, or gauche, but instead of feeling disdain towards it you enjoy it, whether due to sentimentality or because the item(s) speaks to you. A good example for the modern day is the sudden virality of food-shaped stools and maximalist styled spaces, which might be unappealing to passersby but is adored by the owners. With that in mind, here are the new items coming in the Cozy Kitsch Creator Kit:

All in all there are 27 new items which is typical for a Kit, however 3 of those items are just the same ceiling light in different lengths. Not every ceiling light that makes it into the game comes in multiple lengths though, so while they pad out the number of items a little bit you at least get the full size range of ceiling lighting (which is how every ceiling light for the game should be)!

I really like the colorways chosen for this Creator Kit! It gives me a 1970’s vibe, where even the brightest colors have a deeper almost jewel-tone quality to them. Despite the idea that the items here are kitschy, if you have an eye for mixing colors and patterns you can use this Kit to furnish some awesome rooms that don’t look gaudy at all. And, the patterns would play nicely with the Pastel Pop Kit—which was also made with the help of a well-known simmer!

Creator Kits Preview – Sweet Slumber Party Kit By Trillyke

Inspired by the classic movie depiction of slumber parties, this Kit has everything you need for a fantastically pampered sleepover and more! This Creator Kit might be the largest one EA has ever released, coming with 50 new items. With many of the pieces being unisex it makes sense that the catalog is so large, but it’s nice to see that there’s something for everyone here:

I have to admit that I am a little confused by some of the pieces included in this Kit. We get a lot of on-brand stuff like pajamas in cozy and/or comfy styles, several beauty treatment items for the face, new manicures, and some cute socks. But then there’s also an odd pajama-business suit hybrid option which even comes with multiple pair of high-heeled shoes. The only time I recall seeing heels on with pajamas was usually more of a lingerie situation so I’m unsure where the thought was behind this inclusion, but hey, if you like heels you’ll get some extras if you buy this Creator Kit.

When Are The Creator Kits Releasing?

The new Creator Kits will be available for purchase staring on 14 November. Kits don’t go into pre-order so you’ll have to wait if you want them now, but it’ll be here before you know it!
