Has your sim found themselves on the wrong side of a bit of magic? Don’t let them risk making it worse by trying to fix it on their own—use a foolproof cheat instead!
So, your Spellcaster sim got a bit cocky. They tried to make a potion they weren’t qualified for, picked a fight with the wrong sim, or thought they could beat an overcharge. Now, your sim is dealing with an embarrassing, terrifying, or even dangerous curse and you need to get rid of it fast! You could try a Potion of Curse Cleansing or a Decursify spell, but if that backfires you’ll be in an even worse situation. Using a cheat for curse removal instead is much quicker, safer, and more reliable.
Let’s Make some Magic!
If you have Realm of Magic, there are multiple curses that your sim can incur over the course of your magical journey:
| Curse | Cause | Effect |
| Curse of Awkward Embraces | Losing a Duel OR Drinking Potion failure | Sim uncontrollably touches/hugs others |
| Curse of Infectious Laughter | Reaching max Charge | Sim will laugh at inappropriate times and may pass the giggles to other sims |
| Curse of Repulsiveness | Potion Making failure | Sim causes disgusted emotions in other sims nearby and socialization is much harder |
| Curse of Scrambled Spells | Overcharge failure OR Spellcasting failure | Spells won’t always be what the casting sim intended and may have strong, random effects |
| Curse of The Night Wraith | Overcharge failure | Sim’s energy levels will drop and at night they will be stalked by a ghastly apparition that causes them emotional distress |
| Curse of Uncleansable Stench | Drinking Potion failure OR Potion Making failure | Sim is forever grody and gross, even if they’ve just showered |
| Curse of Uncontrollable Charge | Overcharge failure OR Reaching max Charge OR Spellcasting failure | Sim’s charge level will increase much faster, raising the chances of overload |
| Curse of Unwarranted Hostility | Losing a Duel OR Potion Making failure | Sim will be met with outright hostility from other sims and some may even try to fight them |
| Hex of the Duelist | Losing a Duel | Sim will be challenged to more duels, it will be harder for them to win said duels, and duels they do win will grant fewer rewards |
Your sim can also receive -any- of the above curses if they experience failure during the process of utilizing a Potion of Curse Cleansing. For this reason, using a remove Curse cheat is the preferred way to rid your sims of their maledictions.

Curse Removal Cheats to Wipe the Slate Clean
From a programming perspective the Sims 4 handles curse statuses as if they’re traits, and luckily most traits in the game can be added or removed via cheat codes. After activating TestingCheats, enter the corresponding cheat code from our list below to remove unwanted curses from your sims!

If for some reason you want to afflict your sim with one or more of the above curses, simply replace “remove” with “equip” in the cheat code and it should immediately give them the desired curse.

Final Thoughts
Spellcaster sims and the players controlling them don’t have time to deal with the inconveniences of curses, and having a removal attempt blow up in you and your sim’s face is never fun. Using a remove curse cheat, you can simply wipe the curse from your sim and get back to whatever spellcasting shenanigans you were up to!
