Kits are a fairly inexpensive way to add DLC to The Sims 4. You should still know what you’re getting, though. Here’s some important background info on the new Sweet Allure Kit.

The Sweet Allure Kit is one of two new Kits that launched for The Sims 4 on 10 April. This Kit, created by aharris00britney, consists of 27 pieces of CAS content focused on cute, coquettish style for sims of all gender representations. There are some very precious pieces and if that’s your kind of style, the Kit has surely piqued your interest.
In the spirit of transparency we think it’s important for players to know just what they’re getting when it comes to spending money on the game. Yesterday a Reddit post was made that suggests many of the Sweet Allure Kit pieces are Frankenmeshes—pieces created by taking original EA meshes and deconstructing them, combining them, and remixing them into something new. It’s a common method for Maxis-match CC such as the many add-on sets available out there, and if you’re particularly fond of EA-esque look you’ve probably downloaded Frankenmesh CC in the past.
More on Snootysims: Frankenmeshing is a wonderful way of keeping custom content perfectly Maxis-match. Take a look at some of our favorite examples here.
Sweet Allure’s Frankenmeshes
The Sweet Allure Kit has some really pretty items in it, but if you’re on the fence over weather or not you should purchase it you might find that you already have some approximations of its content in your current CAS catalog.

First we have this polo shirt with a sweater tied up over the shoulders. It’s been suggested that this piece is a Frankenmesh of a Base Game top (worn by J Huntington III) with the shirt from Perfect Patio Stuff. The sweater is tied in pretty much the exact same way between the two meshes, and the collor from the polos match right down to the fold in the button placket and the creases on the bottom. The sleeves of the new piece are puffier though, and are probably shortened versions from the Base Game top. More texture has been asses to the sweater portion though, with detailed sleeve cuffs and a distinct knit texture.

Next is the cropped lacy top with bow decorations in comparison with a top from Dream Home Decorator. Both pieces share the same frilly trim on the bottom and the gaps down the front between attachment points. They also share similar textures around those stretched attachment points and striped style of the garment fabric.

This top also appears to have the same sleeves as a piece from Crystal Creations. They have the same band on the edges and the frilled trim is creased/textured in nearly the exact same way.

The last example from the thread is a pair of jeans that seem to be a higher-wasted version of piece from Lovestruck with a few modifications. While the waist is higher and the lens are thinner, they have the same rear pocket slits and belt loop placement, and even share crease lines over the rear pockets and down the front of the legs. The textures have been modified more for this one however, with detailed stitching added and rips/holes almost entirely repaired.

While researching the new Kits for my previous post I had noticed one of the tops in the teaser images looked familiar to me and I suspect that a portion of the mesh is taken from a long sleeve top available in the Base Game that has a distinct cut between the breast area and the rest of the garment. There is also a Base Game shirt with a similar appearance to the breast portion of the Sweet Allure top, but it’s not close enough for me to be confident that it was used.
Should I Buy The Sweet Allure Kit?
Whether or not charging money for Frankenmesh content is acceptable is for you to decide. There are a number of factors at play here, which you should consider.
- Do you already have the DLCs for the non Base Game meshes used in these pieces?
- Are you a PC player who has access to CC similar to these items, or a console player limited to EA’s official offerings?
- Are you a fan of aharriss00britney and want to support him and his creations?
- Do you prefer to use exclusively Maxis-match content in your game?
- Is the style of the new content something you like and will use?

If you do decide to purchase Sweet Allure and you want to show your support to aharris00britney, don’t forget to use his Creator Code at checkout. This will not give you a discount but it will give him a 5% cut of your purchase. Creators are paid a flat fee for their work with EA and don’t earn further royalties, so using a Creator Code is the only way to give him a cut of sales.
No matter what you decide in regards to the Sweet Allure Kit, we hope this post was helpful and allowed you to make a more informed decision. In the meantime gear up for 3 more Kits coming out next month!
