Instead of trying to preload absolutely everything, the mod focuses on interactions you have already opened. It then checks the available choices against your currently active Sims, giving frequently used menus a much quicker response once they have been learned.

INSTANT Pie Menu Mod for SIM 4 Works

The clever part of this mod is its caching system. Once you open a menu, the mod learns and caches it, allowing that menu to appear quickly the next time you need it while the game continues preparing updated choices behind the scenes.

The cache stays available while you remain in the loaded world, but travelling or reloading the world clears what the mod has learned. When you reopen a cached menu, it can also prepare the refreshed choices for its next opening, so your commonly used interactions can become progressively smoother during a play session.

Give It a Little Time After Loading

There is one important startup detail to know before testing the mod. After the first household finishes loading, you need to give the INSTANT Pie Menu for SIM 4 around 30 seconds to start working, and this setup happens once per game launch.

You can still use the regular menu during this startup period, and a notification will let you know when the Instant Pie Menu is ready. So if you immediately click around after loading your household and do not notice a difference, give the mod a moment to finish preparing itself.

Not Every Interaction Will Be Instant

While the name certainly sounds ambitious, Modsby is clear that this is still an Alpha release. First-time menus, complex modded interactions, and selector popups can still take some time to appear, so the mod does not completely eliminate The Sims 4’s background loading.

There can also be a delay when you select an interaction before the game has finished preparing that interaction behind the scenes. The mod still has to check the selected interaction with EA’s systems before allowing it to run, and the game’s own queues and interaction restrictions still apply.

The Selector Popup Bug Has Been Fixed

One particularly annoying issue has already received attention in this version. Modsby says the frustrating 10-second Selector Popup bug has been fixed, which should make interactions involving selector popups less painful.

This is especially useful for players who regularly use mods that rely on additional choices or selection windows. It does not mean every selector will open instantly, but it removes one of the specific delays that was causing problems.

Compare It With the Old Vanilla Menu

It Is Still an Alpha Mod

Modsby’s INSTANT Pie Menu is very much a work in progress. The creator explains that it does not currently preload every interaction or remove the game’s existing background loading work, with the longer-term goal being much more ambitious.

The creator is also asking players to share their experiences, bugs, and little nitpicks during testing. The plan is to keep refining the system before eventually merging it with the Dropdown Menu, which could turn the two projects into a much larger quality-of-life overhaul for the game’s interaction system.

Does It Work With Shift Click?

Shift Click support is not available yet in the INSTANT Pie Menu for SIM 4. Modsby says it will be added eventually, but the current priority is getting the main menu system working properly before expanding its features.

For now, the ALT click shortcut is available for accessing the traditional vanilla menu, making it possible to switch between the newer system and the original interaction menu while testing.

Requirements for the INSTANT Pie Menu

The INSTANT Pie Menu for SIM 4 is designed as a quality-of-life mod for The Sims 4 and does not require an expansion pack. The available information lists it as compatible with the Base Game, making the feature accessible without needing a specific DLC pack.

As with any script-based Sims 4 mod, make sure your game is configured to allow Custom Content and Script Mods before testing it. Since this is an Alpha release, keeping an eye on future updates from Modsby’s Laboratory is also a good idea.

Final Thoughts
