Welcome to our guide on Deathflowers in the Sims 4

The Deathflower was first introduced in the Sims 4 on October 1st, 2014. But don’t be fooled, they were around way before the Sims 4. In fact, we first saw them on the Sims 3! They are an incredibly useful item that might end up saving your sims’ lives.

So today we’re going to be teaching you everything about them, including where to find them and how to use them!

What is the Deathflower and how can I use it on Sims 4?

The Deathflower is a special flower that can be found in the Sims 4 as an unknown special seed. It has a skull on it and is surrounded by tendrilly scarlet petals and leaves. You can use it to either create ambrosia or to give it to a grim reaper in exchange for a sim’s life.

To create ambrosia, your sim needs to collect various rare ingredients. Ambrosia comes from ancient Greek mythology and it was the meal of the gods. So, anyone who consumed it gained immortality. But this will be no easy feat for your sims, as they need to have level 10 cooking and gourmet skills. Once a ghost sim eats it, they will come back to life!

If your sim isn’t that great in culinary arts, they can still be saved from the grim reaper. The only thing you have to do is to make sure that another sim on your household will have a Deathflower in their inventory. Once your sim dies and the grim reaper appears, they can give the flower to him. Your sim will be saved! But if they’re an elder, don’t expect them to go long before they meet him again.

So how do I get it?

You might stumble upon an unknown special seed that will grow up to be a Deathflower. But if you want to increase your chances, you can have your sim graft it. To graft seeds, your sim must have their gardening skill on level 5 and above. Follow these steps to get a Deathflower seed.

  1. Graft Cherry to Apple to make Pomegranate.
  2. Graft Lily to Snapdragon to make Orchid.
  3. Then, graft Pomegranate to Orchid to make Deathflowers.

If you have “Realm of Magic” installed there’s an easier way to get a Deathflower if you have the money. You can sometimes find them for sale in the alchemy supplies stall. You’ll find the stall in the hidden neighborhood “The Magic Realm”.

If you want to go down the cheat alley, we can tell you the easiest way to purchase a Deathflower. Just follow these steps.

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + C.
  2. Type “testingcheats on” and press Enter.
  3. Then, type “bb.showhiddenobjects” and press Enter.
  4. You can now find Deathflowers available for purchase on Buy Mode.

Overall

The Deathflower is a very special item on the Sims 4. No matter how you choose to obtain it, it can definitely help you keep your sim for a little longer. It’s no surprise that players of all genders and ages get attached to their sims. And it’s really hard to let them go. Thankfully, EA brough back the Deathflower!
