Picking the perfect outfit for a wedding or prom can take forever in The Sims 4, especially when you have a huge CC folder to dig through. The new Try On Wedding & Prom Outfits Mod by simkatu gives your Sims a much more natural way to shop around and find a look they actually love.

Instead of jumping straight into Create a Sim, Sims can now use mirrors to try on different wedding and prom outfits, making those big life moments feel a little more special.

Try On Wedding & Prom Outfits Mod Adds New Mirror Interactions

The Try On Wedding & Prom Outfits Mod adds two new interactions to mirrors: “Try On Wedding Outfits” and “Try On Prom Outfits.” Engaged Sims can access the wedding option, while the prom interaction is available for teens.

The interactions work much like the existing in game “Try On Outfit” feature. Your Sim heads over to the mirror and cycles through different dresses or suits until they find something that catches their eye.

The creator also removed the spinning animation between outfit changes because it often did not line up properly with the actual clothing change. Sims now spin at the beginning and end instead, which should make the whole interaction look much smoother.

How Wedding and Prom Outfits Are Generated

The Try On Wedding & Prom Outfits Mod uses clothing tags to generate the outfits, so your Sims will not simply be given completely random clothing. Wedding dresses are mainly pulled using the white and dress tags, while wedding suits focus on black and suit tags. Prom outfits follow the same idea but allow for more colors.

There is a small catch for Simmers who love custom content. If a piece of clothing has incorrect CAS tags, the game may occasionally generate something that does not quite fit the intended outfit. This can happen with EA clothing too, but the creator notes that it is more common with CC.

Found the Perfect Outfit? Your Sim Can Keep It

Once your Sim finds a look they love, simply click on the Sim while they are wearing it and choose “Keep Style.” This saves the outfit as a formal outfit, so you do not have to go hunting for it again. If all five formal outfit slots are already filled, you can choose one to replace.

There is also a cost for keeping the different looks. Wedding dresses cost §990, wedding suits cost §690, prom dresses cost §490, and prom suits cost §290. So yes, your Sim might want to make sure they really love that dress before spending the simoleons.

Other Sims Can React to the Outfit

The Try On Wedding & Prom Outfits Mod also adds a cute little social element to the experience. When an engaged Sim tries on wedding outfits, their fiancé or fiancée can react with admiration when they see the outfits.

For prom outfits, romantic partners can react too, along with Sims who have a crush on the teen trying everything on. The High School Years expansion is required for the crush related reaction, giving prom outfit shopping a little more personality.

Style Another Sim With the Wardrobe Platform

Simmers who own Get Famous get another option through the Wondrous Wardrobe Platform. The mod adds similar wedding and prom styling interactions, letting your Sim ask another Sim to style their outfit or offer to style someone else’s.

The option to style another Sim will only appear when there are teens or engaged Sims nearby. It works similarly to the mirror interactions, but there is one nice difference: if you offer to style another Sim and choose “Keep Style,” neither Sim is charged for the outfit.

Compatibility and Known CC Conflict

The Try On Wedding & Prom Outfits Mod is base game compatible, although the wardrobe platform additions require The Sims 4 Get Famous expansion. The XML Injector is also required for the mod to work.

It is compatible with CAS Filters by Sejian, and the creator says the mod generally works well even with plenty of custom content installed. However, one known conflict has been found with the Liyahsim Denim Collection AsimetricalTop, which can cause the outfit generator to pull unexpected clothing such as pants, T-shirts, or accessories. Other Liyahsim CC appears to work normally.

Try On Wedding & Prom Outfits Mod Early Access

The Try On Wedding & Prom Outfits Mod is currently in early access until September 16, 2026. The Patreon post was published on August 17, 2026, with the mod available through simkatu’s Patreon.

There are also separate files for different setups, including an all lots version, a retail and thrift lots version, and an optional wardrobe platform addon. That gives Simmers a little flexibility depending on how they want to use the mod in their game.

Final Thoughts

This is such a fun little addition for Simmers who like giving weddings and prom nights more of a story. Being able to actually let your Sim try several outfits, save the one they love, and even get reactions from their partner makes the whole process feel much more like an event instead of another trip into CAS.

If you have a wedding or prom coming up in your save, this one is definitely worth keeping an eye on. Just remember that the XML Injector is required, and the wardrobe platform features need Get Famous.
