By downloading the Wash Face and Sanitize Hands Mod, players receive three functional objects that can be found in Build Mode under the Bathroom Accents category. Each object adds new ways for Sims to take care of themselves throughout the day while fitting naturally into existing gameplay.
The Wash Face and Sanitize Hands Mod requires the Lot51 Core Library to function properly, so players will need that dependency installed before adding it to their game.
Give Your Sims a New Wash Face Interaction
One of the standout features of the Wash Face and Sanitize Hands Mod is the new Wash Face interaction. Teen, Young Adult, Adult, and Elder Sims can wash their faces either by clicking directly on a sink or by using the included facial cleanser object.
Interestingly, Sims do not need to own the cleanser to wash their faces. Any sink can be used, making the feature easy to integrate into existing households. The cleanser itself comes with seven swatches, giving players several style options for their bathrooms.
By default, the cleanser shown during the animation uses a white texture. Players who want their Sims to use a different color during the animation can purchase the desired cleanser and place it in the Sim’s inventory.
More Than Just a Cosmetic Interaction
The face washing interaction offers several gameplay benefits beyond visual immersion. It increases the Hygiene motive and provides a small Energy boost, making it a useful part of a Sim’s morning routine.
Players with the High School Years Expansion Pack will be happy to know that washing a Sim’s face can cure teen acne. It also removes makeup previously applied at a vanity table and increases the Responsibility value for teens who own the Parenthood Game Pack. Sims additionally receive a custom mood buff after completing the interaction.
Autonomy has also been thoughtfully implemented. Sims may decide to wash their faces on their own when their Hygiene need is low, during the morning hours between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, or whenever they are not assigned the Slob trait.
Portable Hand Sanitizer Lets Sims Clean Up Anywhere
The Wash Face and Sanitize Hands Mod’s second major feature is a portable hand sanitizer item available for Sims from Child through Elder life stages. Unlike the sink interaction, Sims must purchase the sanitizer before using it.
Once placed in a Sim’s inventory, players can activate the interaction either by clicking the sanitizer itself or by selecting the Sim carrying it. The item comes in three swatches and offers a convenient way to maintain hygiene while away from home.
Using the sanitizer increases the Hygiene motive similarly to standard hand washing and provides a custom buff afterward. Sims may also autonomously use it when their Hygiene need drops, provided they do not have the Slob trait.
Share Sanitizer with Other Sims
A particularly charming feature included with the portable sanitizer is the ability to Offer Hand Sanitizer to another Sim.
When the sanitizer is inside a Sim’s inventory, clicking the object unlocks an interaction that allows the Sim to offer sanitizer to someone else nearby. It is a small addition, but it helps create more social and realistic moments during gameplay.
Functional Wall Sanitizer Dispenser Comes to The Sims 4
The third item included in the Wash Face and Sanitize Hands Mod is a functional wall-mounted sanitizer dispenser. Simkatu transformed a decorative object originally from the Get to Work Expansion Pack into a fully usable item.
The dispenser supports six swatches, including several newly created textures. Child through Elder Sims can use it directly by clicking on the dispenser object.
Its effects mirror those of the portable sanitizer, increasing Hygiene and providing a custom buff. The same autonomy rules also apply, allowing Sims to use it independently when needed.
