The mod is a great little addition for players who enjoy adding more personality to their households. Instead of every Sim looking the same while sleeping, you can give everyone their own preferred sleeping style or let the game randomly choose a pose each night.

The Under The Covers II mod comes with nine different sleeping poses, including Arm Under Pillow, On Back, On Side with an Arm, Arm Hanging Off Bed, Arm Across Face, Arms Up, Restless, Stretched Out, and even Death.

That gives Simmers plenty of options for making their Sims’ bedtime animations feel less repetitive. Some poses are relaxed and familiar, while others can add a little extra personality to your Sims’ everyday routines.

Choose How Your Sim Sleeps

One of the best features is the ability to change a Sim’s current sleeping pose while they are already in bed. Simply click the bed covers, select Change Sleep Pose, and choose the animation you want.

The selected pose will remain active until the Sim wakes up. However, changing the pose directly through the bed covers does not change the Sim’s saved preference, so their usual sleeping style can remain intact the next time they go to bed.

Give Every Sim Their Own Sleep Preference

Want one Sim to sleep on their back while another always curls up on their side? You can set individual preferences for everyone in the household. Click directly on a Sim, choose Sleep Preferences, and select the sleeping position you want them to use.

Once saved, that pose will automatically play whenever the Sim goes to sleep in a regular bed. This makes the mod especially useful for storytelling, since different Sims can now have their own little bedtime habits.

Let Sims Sleep Differently Every Night

If you don’t want to lock a Sim into one sleeping style, the Random option gives you another way to play. When selected, the mod independently chooses from the nine available poses each time the Sim goes to sleep.

The random selection does not follow a set order, so Sims can naturally have different sleeping positions from one night to the next. If you previously saved a specific preference, simply return to Sleep Preferences and switch it back to Random.

A Few Things to Know Before Installing

Tinycoffeecups notes that the updated mod replaces the older Sleep Override, so players should remove the previous version before installing Under The Covers II. The creator also reports conflicts with Sleep In by LittleMsSam, Bed Cuddle by thepancake1, Longer Sleep by SonozakiSisters, Deep Sleeper Trait by Wicked Pixxel, and Take Off Shoes While Sleeping by ShuSanR.

There are also a few known animation quirks, including minor clipping with blankets, pillows, or accessories, small differences with body presets, brief animation transitions, and mirrored poses on double beds. The mod is also not intended for Child Sims.
