Temperatures are rising and the heat is on! The Sims 4’s Summer 2025 Roadmap is here!

As I sit here in 90°F/32°C temperatures I can’t help but feel envious of my sims, who not only have a plethora of ways to keep cool but also a lot to look forward to with the summer 2025 roadmap. New Events, base game updates, and an enchanting Expansion Pack are all on their way in the coming months, so grab a cold drink and let’s dive into the details!
The Sims 4 Summer 2025 Roadmap: Let’s Get Hot!
Simmers can look forward to a variety of summer activities on this year’s roadmap.

Base Game Updates🌻
There will be two separate Base Game updates arriving this summer! Our first update comes in less than a month, dropping on 1st July. This will likely be the time the game is updated to gear up for our next EP launch so you can expect more news and leaks about it after this date!

Another Base Game update drops on 19th of August. While it’s too early to predict what might be coming, we do know that trusted Sims leaker anadius has predicted there will be two DLCs launched between the upcoming EP and the one after that, so it might have something to do with one of them? We’ll have to wait and see!
Answer The Call Of Nature🌳

Our next in-game Event, Nature’s Calling, blooms on the 24th of June. Your sims might notice some faint whispers on the wind, encouraging them to step outside and try some nature-adjacent activities. The Event lasts 6 weeks total with two new quests dropping every other week, and an extra 2-week grace period at the end for everyone to catch up.
This Event is an interesting one. For starters, some of the items will be unlockable simply by logging in while others will need specific tasks to be completed. There will also be optional bonus tasks that are DLC-dependant, so while all players have equal access to the main Event prizes there will be bonuses/faster points accumulation if you have certain DLCs.
As a simmer who doesn’t own all DLC, I personally don’t love this idea. It feels like the introduction of pay-to-win mechanics and I hope it doesn’t become the norm because not every player wants and/or can afford nearly 100 pieces of DLC. Lilsimsie touches upon this in her recent Sims News video if you’d like to know more.
An Enchanting Expansion🧚

The thing simmers are probably most excited about is the Enchanted By Nature Expansion Pack, coming to us on the 10th of July. Based on the vibes of the rewards from Nature’s Calling (such as the wing sunglasses and patterned swimwear), and how the upcoming EP has been teased so far, players are pretty confident that this next EP will bring a highly requested Occult to the game: Fairies! They existed in The Sims 3 and are one of the few well-known Occult types we’ve yet to see in this game.
The timing is good as well since some players are still disappointed about the lack of cars in the game, which the Restoration Workshop Kit essentially sealed as something we’re probably never going to see.
Occults in The Sims 4 have been a mixed bag so far. Aliens and Mermaids seem to be under-baked, while Ghosts didn’t really get much love until the Life & Death EP. Vampires, Spellcasters, and Werewolves on the other hand had dedicated Game Packs and deeper mechanics to them. If Fairies are coming in an Expansion Pack we’re hopeful that they will be fully fleshed-out and fun to play with. Heck, maybe those forgotten Occults will get some love in one of the upcoming game updates!
Conclusion: It’s Going To Be A Busy Simmer—I Mean Summer!
The Sims 4 Summer Roadmap kicks off next week with the Enchanted By Nature EP reveal where we’ll learn all about what’s coming in the next DLC, and Nature’s Calling starts in the last week of June. It’ll be here before you know it!
We hope you’re able to enjoy your summer (or winter if you’re in the southern hemisphere), and if the weather gets too icky outside you can always come indoors to cool down and play some Sims 4. Until next time, happy simming!
