Soap Making Hobby Mod lets Sims craft scented soap bars, gain buffs, and run a handmade soap business from home.

Soap Making Hobby Mod Brings Handmade Soap Crafting to Your Sims
If you’ve been wanting more cozy hobbies for your Sims, the Sims 4 Soap Making Hobby Mod by Hiole’s Corner might be one of the most creative additions we’ve seen lately. Inspired by the gorgeous handmade soap designs found online, this new mod lets Sims create, use, gift, and even sell their own soap bars with different fragrances and styles.
The Soap Making Hobby Mod fits surprisingly well into gameplay, especially for players who love cottagecore saves, small businesses, or realistic hobbies. From researching techniques to crafting beautifully scented soaps, this system feels like a natural extension of The Sims 4’s growing hobbies gameplay.

Sims Can Learn Soap Making From Scratch
The Soap Making Hobby Mod starts with a new interaction called “Research Soap Making Techniques.” Once your Sim studies the craft, they’ll receive a soap making bowl needed to begin creating their first batches.

The soap bowl can also be found in the Small Kitchen Appliances section in Build/Buy Mode. One important detail players should remember is that the bowl needs to be placed in the center of the counter, otherwise the crafting options will not appear properly.

At first, Sims can only create unscented soap bars. But as they level up their Soap Making Skill, more fragrance options and decorative soap designs become available. This progression system makes the hobby feel rewarding over time instead of instantly unlocking everything.

Soap Making Hobby Mod Includes Essential Oils and Custom Soap Designs
One of the most interesting features in the Sims 4 Soap Making Hobby Mod is the use of essential oils. Sims can purchase these oils through the computer, and they’re required for creating scented soaps.

The fragrances directly affect what kinds of soaps your Sims can make, which adds a fun layer of experimentation and collection gameplay. If your Sim has online shopping coupons from certain expansion features, they can even receive discounts when buying oils.
Each crafting session produces around seven soap bars, making it perfect for Sims who want to stock up, decorate a store shelf, or build a small handmade business from home.

Your Sims Can Actually Use the Soap Bars
Thankfully, these soap bars are not just decorative clutter items. Sims can actively use them during showers and baths, which gives them special buffs depending on the soap used.
The creator intentionally left some of the buff discoveries for players to experience themselves, which honestly makes the feature even more fun. Every soap bar comes with 15 uses before it runs out, so they feel useful without disappearing too quickly.
It’s a small detail, but being able to use handcrafted products in actual gameplay makes the entire system feel much more immersive.

Selling Handmade Soap Fits Perfectly With Business Gameplay
Players who own additional packs can expand the mod even further. Soap bars can be sold through Plopsy if you own The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting Stuff, or through small businesses if you have The Sims 4: Businesses and Hobbies installed.
Your Sims can also gift soap bars to other Sims, which feels incredibly wholesome for family gameplay and community storytelling.
There is one funny realism detail included too. If a soap bar has already been used once, Sims will no longer be able to sell it on Plopsy. Honestly, that makes complete sense.
Requirements and Important Notes
To use the Soap Making Hobby Mod properly, players will need XML Injector installed. The mod also requires The Sims 4: Island Living to function.
Hiole’s Corner also recently released an update last February 19, 2026, fixing an issue where soap bars would stay stuck inside Sims’ inventories after being listed through the Plopsy app.
The entire mod feels very polished already, especially for players who enjoy slower gameplay, hobbies, crafting systems, and realistic home businesses.
Final Thoughts
The Sims 4 community has been asking for deeper hobby gameplay for years, and this mod feels like such a satisfying addition to everyday life storytelling. Between the crafting progression, usable soaps, fragrance system, and selling features, there’s a lot here for cozy gameplay fans to enjoy.
If you love realistic gameplay mods or want a new creative activity for your Sims, this is definitely one to keep on your radar. It also pairs perfectly with bakery saves, cottagecore households, wellness spas, and handmade business stories.
