Sims 4 Kits Console Removal: What’s Happening Right Now?

The Sims 4 Kits Console Removal has officially begun, and it’s a pretty big shift for console Simmers. If you’ve tried browsing Kits on PlayStation recently, you might have noticed something missing. That’s because The Sims Team has started pulling all Kits from console storefronts.

This sudden move comes as part of preparations for the upcoming Marketplace feature, which is expected to roll out to consoles very soon.

Sims 4 Kits Console Removal Tied to Marketplace Launch

According to the official announcement, Kits have already been removed from the PlayStation Store as of April 14. The same will happen on the Microsoft Store starting April 16.

The reason is simple. The Sims Team is transitioning all Kit purchases into the in-game Marketplace system, which was first introduced on PC and Mac back on March 17, 2026.

Instead of buying Kits through your console’s store, everything will soon be handled directly inside the game using the Moola currency. This means faster downloads and a more streamlined experience, but also a big change in how players access content.

What This Means for Console Players

Right now, things feel a little in-between. With Kits removed from storefronts and the Marketplace not yet live on consoles, players are stuck in a bit of a waiting period.

EA has not confirmed how previously purchased Kits will be accessed during this transition. That uncertainty is definitely something the community is watching closely.

That said, the timing strongly suggests the Marketplace launch on consoles is just around the corner. Removing such a huge catalog of content usually means something big is about to replace it.

A Big Shift for The Sims 4 DLC System

This change is more than just a store update. It signals a major shift in how The Sims 4 handles DLC, especially smaller content packs like Kits.

Moving everything into the Marketplace could open the door for more creator content, easier browsing, and a more unified system across platforms. But it also means players will need to adjust to a new way of buying and managing their content.

Final Thoughts

The Sims 4 Kits Console Removal might feel sudden, but it’s clearly setting the stage for something bigger. If the Marketplace arrives in the next few days, this short gap will make a lot more sense.

For now, it’s a good time to keep an eye on updates and get ready for a new way to shop in The Sims 4. Stay tuned, and be ready to explore the Marketplace as soon as it drops.
