The Gift Specified Amount of Money Mod from SonozakiSisters is a handy new gameplay addition for Simmers who want more control over how their Sims share their money. Instead of being limited to preset amounts, this mod lets your Sims gift any amount of Simoleons they want.
There are two ways to send money, making it useful for all kinds of storytelling. Whether your Sim wants to help a friend financially, give a family member outside the household some extra cash, or simply make a generous gift, you can choose the exact amount to transfer.
Gift Specified Amount of Money Mod Works Through the Mailbox
One of the easiest ways to use the Gift Specified Amount of Money Mod is through the mailbox. Your Sim can use the mailbox interaction to choose a recipient from their acquaintances, giving you a simple way to send Simoleons without having to track down another Sim in person.
This could be especially useful for storytelling households. If you’re playing a Sim who wants to financially support a friend or someone living in another household, you can send the money directly through the mailbox.
Give Money Through a Friendly Social Interaction
The second option lets your Sims give money directly through a social interaction. Head over to Friendly > Affection > Give Gift > Simoleons to find the option, then choose the amount you want your Sim to give.
There are a couple of restrictions to keep in mind. The Sim giving the money must be a Teen or older, and the recipient cannot be part of the same household. The two Sims also need to know each other for the social interaction to appear.
What You Need to Install
The Gift Specified Amount of Money Mod requires the Lot51 Core Library to work properly. SonozakiSisters also notes that the mod has no listed conflicts, while the installation simply requires placing the mod files in your Mods folder.
If the mailbox or social interaction isn’t showing up, the creator recommends checking that Lot51 Core Library has been installed correctly. The FAQ also notes that the interaction may not appear if the Sims don’t know each other or if the recipient is a Child or younger.
Things to Know Before Giving Money
Your Sim needs to have enough Simoleons to make the transfer, and there is also a limit based on how much money the recipient can have. If the specified amount would push the recipient beyond the maximum amount of Simoleons they can hold, the transfer won’t go through.
