3D Modeler Career (Freelance) V2 adds a custom freelance career, new skill, digital marketplace, and over 60 gigs for creative Sims.

If you’ve ever wanted your Sims to become digital artists and build a career creating virtual masterpieces, the 3D Modeler Career (Freelance) V2 Mod by midnitetech is here to make that dream a reality. Mod creator midnitetech has completely rebuilt this beloved career from the ground up, giving Simmers an immersive freelance experience packed with new features, custom skills, and plenty of ways to earn Simoleons.
Originally released in 2024, the 3D Modeler Career (Freelance) V2 Mod has now been recreated from scratch and expanded with even more depth. The result is a creative career path that feels like it could have shipped with the base game itself.
3D Modeler Career (Freelance) V2 Adds a Whole New Digital Career
This custom career blends seamlessly with The Sims 4’s existing freelance careers, making it feel right at home alongside EA’s official content. Sims can take on more than 60 unique gigs, giving players a huge variety of projects and keeping every workday feeling fresh.
The career is also base game compatible. Players who own Nifty Knitting can sell creations on Plopsy, but those without the pack are not left out thanks to a completely new digital marketplace called Renderly.
Meet the New 3D Modeling Skill
One of the biggest additions is a brand-new custom skill called 3D Visualizing, also referred to as 3D Modeling in the updated version of the 3D Modeler Career (Freelance) V2. The skill works independently, meaning your Sim does not need to join the freelance career to enjoy it.
As Sims improve their abilities, they unlock plenty of new interactions. They can write and publish tutorials, create 3D animations, and continue developing their talents outside of client work. There is even a special reward trait waiting for dedicated creators who master the skill.
Your Sims Can Become Online Creators
The 3D Modeler Career (Freelance) V2 leans heavily into modern creator culture. Sims can start and manage their own Simblr account, helping them build a reputation in the online creative community.
Another fun feature allows Sims to teach classes at their local university through rabbit hole interactions. It is a great way to roleplay successful digital artists who share their knowledge and inspire the next generation of creators.
Create 3D Projects on Computers and Sketchpads
Sims can work on their creations using either a computer or the Digitalistic Sketchpad. Midnitetech has even included custom screen animations while your Sims are creating, adding an extra layer of immersion to the entire experience.
The 3D Modeler Career (Freelance) V2 also includes custom preferences, likes, and dislikes related to 3D modeling, helping creative Sims develop personalities that truly fit their chosen profession.
The New Renderly Marketplace Offers Extra Income
One of the most exciting additions in Version 2 is Renderly, a brand-new digital marketplace where Sims can upload and sell their creations.
This means your Sims can earn additional money outside of their freelance gigs. Whether your Sim is just starting out or already a well-known creator, Renderly provides another rewarding avenue for building a successful digital art empire.
Keep Track of Success With the Creator Dashboard
Freelancers now have access to a dedicated Creator Dashboard on the computer. This feature allows Sims to monitor their client ratings and keep an eye on their professional reputation.
The system even rewards top-performing creators with special exclusive gigs that are only available to Sims with outstanding profiles. It adds another layer of progression and gives players a reason to strive for excellence.
Better Compatibility and a Complete Overhaul
One of the smartest changes in this update is the removal of overrides. Instead, the mod now uses a new script to inject the freelance career directly into EA’s system.
This means players can install other creators’ freelance career mods without worrying about conflicts or having to choose one over another. For players with heavily modded saves, this improvement alone is a massive quality-of-life upgrade.
Required Mods and Downloads
The 3D Modeler Career (Freelance) V2 requires two additional files to function properly. Players will need Lot 51’s Core Library and midnitetech_modlibrary installed before adding the career to their game.
Version 2 has also already received post-release updates. On June 9, 2026, a missing icon and typo were fixed. Another update on June 21, 2026, improved Renderly upload performance and fixed an issue causing the Practice 3D Modeling interaction to appear on canvases.
Final Thoughts
The 3D Modeler Career (Freelance) V2 is easily one of the most detailed creative career mods released this year. Between the custom skill, the new Renderly marketplace, over 60 freelance gigs, creator dashboards, and immersive animations, it offers a surprisingly deep experience for Simmers who love storytelling and career-focused gameplay.
If you’ve been looking for a fresh way to play The Sims 4 and want your Sims to become successful digital artists, this is definitely a mod worth adding to your folder.
