The long-anticipated fifth installment of The Sims franchise has been the main topic of talk in the sims community these past few months. Everyone wants to know the Sims 5 release date. Although The Sims 4, is still going strong and even has a new (tenth!) expansion pack coming up its way, we are all eager to find out more about the newest and upgraded simulation game. So, when is The Sims 5 being released?
The Sims 5 is in Preproduction
It has been confirmed back in January of 2020 that The Sims 5 is in the development stage. And the sole reason why we are getting a brand new game is that The Sims 4 has been such a success, that the creators want to continue with the series. The Sims 4 is currently the best-selling game of the franchise, with over 20 million unique players worldwide!
But, the new Sims game promises many new features, such as both single-player and multiplayer mode. Our Sims will be able to live in a cloud-enabled world, which will allow them to visit friends, their households and all else!
So, as EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, has announced, we are getting a game that will not only focus on inspiration, creation, self-improvement, and motivation. It will also aim for more social interactions and competition among players. And we’re excited to see how that is going to work out!
Conclusion
With The Sims’ ever-growing player base, EA will try to deliver its best simulation game yet. If we take that into consideration, we are probably looking at late 2021 for The Sims 5 release date. Of course, we would love to be wrong and have the brand new Sims game way sooner, but for now, we’re just going to have to wait for it!
