The Sims 4 “Nostalgia Now” Event Starts Today!

With the 25^th birthday of The Sims being just over a week away, EA is really gearing up on the celebrations. Today kicks off the 5-day Nostalgia Now Event!

The countdown to The Sims‘ 25^th birthday is on and today marks the next level of festivities. There’s a lot planned over the following month, and we’re so excited to see what’s coming and share it with you!

Simmers excitedly took to the internet today to see what EA had for us to start the Nostalgia Now 5-day event. They announced that they’ll be giving away 100 digital keys to any Sims 4 DLC or the MySims: Cozy Bundle for Nintendo Switch (winner’s choice) as part of The Sims 25 Giveaway Sweepstakes.

Teases For What’s Coming Next!

While the sweepstakes is the only solid thing announced today, EA is teasing even more exciting stuff with rumors swirling that old-school simmers are finally getting what we’ve wanted for years…

In the video above, we see a Sims 1-esque menu that pops up with several options, including “Time Travel.” The user clicks it and the plumbob suddenly transforms into the plumbob from The Sims and then the plumbob from The Sims 2. Fans are frenzied, thinking this is a hint that older Sims games are getting a re-release!

We haven’t seen a concrete confirmation from EA about this rumor, but well-known gaming website Kotaku has a source that claims The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are being re-released this week! Additionally, simmers have started seeing physical merch from these earlier titles in stores. Plus, simfluencers in the community have received some cool swag ahead of the celebration, at least one item of which is from the older titles. We wonder if any of these items will be showing up in The Merch Shop when the new Birthday Collection drops on February 5^th?

It seems that everything is pointing to the idea that the rumors aren’t just rumors, and we will finally be getting updated versions of these classic Sims games!
