The Ship DA Kids Off Mod by JayESims is finally available in Early Access, giving Simmers a brand-new way to handle family storytelling. Instead of keeping younger Sims at home all the time, you can now send infants, toddlers, children, and teens to stay with another household while still keeping in touch throughout their visit.
After spending extra time polishing the project and fixing bugs, JayESims has released the mod as a public beta for Early Access supporters. While development is still ongoing, the creator says the mod is fully playable and ready for Simmers to start creating new family stories.
Ship DA Kids Off Mod Lets You Plan Extended Family Visits
The Ship DA Kids Off Mod introduces a complete stay-away system that gives players much more control over temporary family visits. Rather than simply imagining where younger Sims are, you’ll actually decide how their trip works before they leave.
When sending a Sim away, you can choose which household will host them, why they’re visiting, how long they’ll stay, and even leave specific care instructions. You can also send spending money with them, making the experience feel much more realistic and personal for storytelling saves.
Stay Connected While They’re Away
The fun doesn’t stop once your younger Sims leave home. During their stay, you’ll still be able to keep in touch through several interactions that make the visit feel alive instead of forgotten.
Parents and caregivers can call, text, check in on their child, and manage different parts of their stay until it’s finally time for them to return home. This creates plenty of opportunities for family storytelling, vacations with relatives, boarding school roleplay, grandparents helping out, or simply giving overwhelmed parents a well-earned break.
Currently Available in Early Access Beta
JayESims shared that the release took a little longer than expected because every last bug they could find was addressed before launch. Rather than rushing the project out, the creator wanted players to have a smoother experience from day one.
The mod is currently available as an Early Access public beta, with additional polishing and improvements planned as development continues. JayESims also encouraged players to jump in and share the stories they create using the new gameplay system.
