Making plans with other Sims just got a little more natural. The Send I’m On The Way Text Mod from Sasha’s Space adds a simple interaction that lets your Sim text a friend when they’re getting ready to meet up. It’s a small detail, but it can make everyday hangouts feel much more believable.

Instead of simply sending your Sim off and hoping they make it to the meetup, you can now have them let their friend know they’re on the way. There’s even a chance the friend responds that they can’t hang out, adding a little bit of unpredictability to the interaction.

How the Send I’m On The Way Text Mod Works

Using the Send I’m On The Way Text Mod is pretty straightforward. Open your Sim’s Relationship Panel, choose the Sim they’re planning to meet, then open the Social Pie Menu and select “Send I’m on the way text.” Your Sim will then send the message and receive a reply through the notification system.

There’s a small chance the other Sim will let them know they can’t hang out, so the interaction isn’t guaranteed to end in a meetup. When things do work out, your Sim gets a cute moodlet that lasts for two hours, and Sasha notes that your Sim is much more likely to make it to the planned hangout.

Your Sims Need to Be Friends First

There is one relationship requirement to keep in mind. The two Sims need to have at least 35 friendship points before the “Send I’m on the way text” interaction becomes available. This keeps the feature focused on Sims who already have an established friendship instead of letting your Sim send casual meetup messages to practically anyone.

The mod is available for Sims from Child through Elder, although the age rules affect who can actually send the message to whom. Child and Teen Sims can text each other, but they cannot use this interaction with Young Adult through Elder Sims. Young Adult, Adult, and Elder Sims can send the message between those age groups.

Text Replies and a Cute Hangout Moodlet

One of the fun little touches is that the response comes through the game’s notification system, making it feel more like an actual text conversation rather than another standard social interaction. Sasha’s screenshots show the message appearing as a notification after the Sim sends their text.

Your Sim also gets a moodlet after sending the message, which lasts for two hours. It’s a tiny addition, but these kinds of small interactions can make a difference when you’re playing rotational saves, storytelling households, or just want your Sims’ friendships to feel a little more alive.

Future Plans for More Realistic Hangouts

Sasha’s Space also mentioned that this is just the beginning for the idea. Future updates may add more realism based on different relationships, along with possibilities for more chaotic or serious hangouts. For now, though, the creator says the mod is focused on keeping things fun and giving players a simple way to communicate plans between Sims.

The mod was inspired by Buns and her Carmen Let’s Play, with Sasha also crediting Lot51’s tuning builder. The creator has invited players to share ideas for future additions, so it will be interesting to see how the feature develops.
