The Emotional Support Teddy Bear BETA V1 mod by PINE TREES & INCENSE gives Sims a special little friend to turn to when life gets overwhelming. Part of the creator’s Coping Mechanisms collection, this base-game-compatible mod introduces personal teddy bears that Sims can bond with, talk to, and play with whenever they need a little comfort. Even better, this isn’t just an activity for children, as teens, young adults, adults, and elders can all find their own furry companion.
There’s something especially sweet about giving your Sims a little source of comfort that stays with them through everyday ups and downs. Whether you’re playing a family legacy, telling a story about a Sim going through a difficult time, or simply adding more personality to your household, these teddy bears offer some lovely little moments to discover.
How to Claim Your Sim’s Emotional Support Teddy Bear
Getting started is simple. Click on an unclaimed teddy bear and select “Claim Your Guardian of Good Feelings.” Your Sim will walk over, pick up their new friend, and set it back down. A “Filled With Comfort” notification will appear to celebrate their new bond, along with a Comforted moodlet to welcome the friendship.
The choice is entirely up to you, too. Sims won’t automatically claim a teddy on their own, and only members of your household can claim one. Each teddy belongs to a single Sim forever, and each Sim can claim only one teddy throughout their lifetime. Once claimed, their furry companion will also appear in their relationship panel, making this little friendship feel like a proper part of their lives.

Emotional Support Teddy Bear Mod Features and Interactions
There’s more to these teddy bears than simply looking adorable on a bedroom shelf. Only the Sim who claims a teddy can interact with it through special options, including playing, talking, and renaming their new best friend. The default name is Sir Bramble, but you can give your Sim’s companion a name that better suits their personality and story.
Playing with a teddy builds Fun, gives Sims a Playful mood, and helps children develop their Creativity skill. Talking to their bear lets Sims chat away in Simlish while gaining a small Social boost. Owners may even play with or talk to their teddy autonomously, so you can occasionally catch your Sims spending time with their favorite companion without having to direct every interaction yourself.

Help Sims Feel Better With a Comforting Companion
The emotional support system is where this mod gets particularly lovely. Spending time with a teddy can give Sims the Comforted moodlet, described as a reminder that their teddy makes hard days feel softer. While playing with or talking to their companion, Sims can also clear away Tense, Angry, and Bored moodlets, giving them a gentle way to recover from some everyday frustrations.
Children can even use their teddy bears to deal with fears, including being scared of the monster under the bed. Instead of leaving little Sims frightened, you can have them play with their bear for a comforting distraction. However, sadness is intentionally left untouched, which means grief and heartbreak still have a place in your storytelling rather than being instantly brushed away by a stuffed animal.

Discover Sweet Little Moments With Your Teddy
PINE TREES & INCENSE has also included some special pop-up moments that can appear after a Sim plays with or talks to their teddy. These little messages add personality to the interaction and make the relationship feel more meaningful than a regular toy activity. One example describes Thomas holding Sir Bramble close and remembering that it’s okay to have hard days.
Another message playfully notes that Sir Bramble has heard some very big feelings today and happens to have a very big heart. There are five different little moments to discover, giving you more reasons to keep an eye on your Sims and their teddy bear interactions. Owners may also receive the Want “Spend Time With My Teddy,” which can be completed by playing with or talking to their companion.
Teddy Bears Stay With Their Owners
You won’t have to worry about your Sim’s special friend disappearing into a toy box. These teddy bears can be carried around and stored in a Sim’s inventory or backpack, but they won’t go into toy boxes. They remain out in the world or with their owner, and Sims won’t automatically tidy them away.
Each teddy also stays separate rather than stacking with other bears, so its name and owner remain associated with that individual object. The beta currently includes 10 color swatches, giving you a few different looks to choose from when picking the perfect companion for your Sim.

Emotional Support Teddy Bear BETA V1 Compatibility and Known Issues
There are a few compatibility details to keep in mind. Mods that adjust how frequently Sims play with toys may affect how often teddy owners interact with their companions autonomously. Autonomy restrictions, including settings in MCCC, can also reduce these interactions. These are expected behavior differences rather than direct conflicts, and you can still manually tell your Sims to spend time with their bears.
As this is a beta release, there are some known issues. The thumbnails are placeholders, and the text currently appears in English for other languages. If a teddy is sold or deleted, its owner cannot claim another one, and the original teddy may remain in the relationship panel. The Want to spend time with a teddy can also appear at any time, rather than only when a Sim is having a difficult day.

Final Thoughts
The Emotional Support Teddy Bear BETA V1 mod is a thoughtful addition for Simmers who enjoy giving their Sims more personal stories and meaningful little interactions. From helping children overcome their nighttime fears to letting grandparents enjoy some cuddly companionship, it brings a sweet reminder that nobody is ever too old for a favorite teddy bear. The decision to leave sadness untouched is also a nice detail for players who want their Sims’ emotional journeys to feel more realistic.
