October has officially arrived, and 31 Days of Simstober Challenges is here to give your Sims plenty of spooky things to do. EA has put together a full month of supernatural challenges that encourage Simmers to embrace ghosts, Grim, occult Sims, spooky builds, questionable decisions, and plenty of chaos.
Whether you love creating dramatic stories or simply want an excuse to play with some of your favorite occult gameplay, there is something here to try. And yes, some of these challenges are exactly as chaotic as you would expect from a Simstober celebration.
31 Days of Simstober Challenges Are Here
The 31 Days of Simstober Challenges gives players one spooky task for each day of October. The challenges range from simple seasonal activities to some seriously chaotic scenarios involving Grim, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, fairies, spellcasters, and more.
You can start with something as simple as giving an iconic Sim a spooky makeover or spending a full day eating nothing but sweets. From there, things get progressively more questionable, with challenges encouraging you to stay awake through the night, fall in love with a ghost, grow a Cowplant, or even defy Grim and save a Sim’s life.

Get Ready to Cause Some Grim Chaos
Naturally, Grim Reaper himself gets plenty of attention during the challenge. Simmers are encouraged to befriend Grim, have their first kiss with him, and even WooHoo with him for the wonderfully named “Dance the Macabre” challenge.
There are plenty of other supernatural goals too. You can turn a ghost into a household roommate, make a vampire and werewolf fall in love, use an occult power at 3 AM, or kiss one of several occult Sims. If your save has been feeling a little too peaceful lately, this is definitely one way to change that.
Spooky Builds Are Part of the Fun
Build-focused Simmers are getting plenty of opportunities to join in too. Several challenges ask you to create spooky spaces, including a graveyard on a 20×15 lot, a haunted residential starter home with a $20,000 budget, an apocalypse bunker, and a room using only black.
You can also build a space that captures the feeling of October, replace the lights in a build with candles, or create a spooky or haunted lot. Some of these challenges require additional DLC, so your available Packs will determine which ones you can complete.
There Are Plenty of Weird and Wonderful Challenges
Some of the challenges are less about building and more about creating memorable stories. You can accept the next invitation from a Sim no matter what, throw a party where everything goes wrong, serenade a ghost, visit a graveyard at night, or spend time playing with a pile of leaves.
Other tasks include growing an oversized pumpkin, defeating or curing a vampire, visiting Moonwood Mill during a full moon, growing a Cowplant, and creating your own spooky character, myth, or local legend. Basically, EA wants us to make October as chaotic as possible.
The challenge is available with the The Sims 4 Base Game, although some tasks require additional Sims 4 DLC to complete. That means you can jump into the Simstober fun even if you do not own every Pack.

Share Your Simstober Progress
EA is also encouraging Simmers to share their progress using #Simstober. If you are taking screenshots while completing the challenges, this is a great excuse to show off your Sims, builds, and wonderfully questionable decisions with the community.
There is also a chance to win a bundle featuring some of The Sims 4’s magical Packs, including Life & Death, Enchanted by Nature, Realm of Magic, and Werewolves. Players can join The Sims Discord and share screenshots in the #simstober-entries channel for a chance to participate. The giveaway is for players aged 18 and over, with full terms available through Discord.
Will You Complete All 31 Challenges?
The best part about the 31 Days of Simstober Challenges is that you do not have to play through them in any particular way. You can focus on the challenges that fit your favorite style of gameplay, or go all in and try to check off every single task before October ends.
With ghosts, occult romances, haunted builds, Grim-related chaos, pumpkins, Cowplants, and plenty of bad decisions involved, this could make for some seriously memorable Sims 4 saves.
Final Thoughts
October is always a fun excuse to make our Sims a little more chaotic, and the 31 Days of Simstober Challenges gives us plenty of reasons to do exactly that. Whether you are a builder, storyteller, occult enthusiast, or someone who simply enjoys watching Sims make terrible decisions, there is something here to try.
So grab your save, mark your calendar, and start checking off those challenges. And if you manage to survive all 31 days, definitely share your progress with the Sims community. Grim is waiting, and apparently he has plans for October.
